How to fix this issue?
Hi Alexander, While there are some server-side technical things you can do to force a 404 error for a given URL, the best thing to do is remove the content in question from your server. At the very least this should achieve getting a 404 status code when you attempt to visit the URL that once housed the content. Ideally, if you can configure a custom 404 page that is more user-friendly, that's even better. Now, depending on how your server is configured, there may be instances when a URL should produce a 404 error, but doesn't. I only bring this scenario up as a possibility because it's something I am currently dealing with on one of the sites I manage. In any case, you may need to work closely with your server administrator or Web developer to achieve what you need. Most likely, it's just a matter of removing the old content from the server. Hope that helps! Dana

Trafic drop after a huge indexation
Lots of people come here and say.... "I added millions of pages to my site and my traffic dropped." The answer is usually.... the millions of pages were thin content, duplicate content, cookie cutter content or rubbish content and now google sees the site as low quality.

Duplicate Theme, different Content, competing keywords?
Sorry for the late reply. The reason why we need a second website is because one has adult orientated images. As google places does not allow nude. http://mycompanytor.com - Has the Google Plus Business - Non Nude http://mycompanytoronto.com - Has the Company Branding - Nude. I hope this is clear. Thanks for your input.

How does Moz Local work with business that don't have a physical location? (e.g., handyman, locksmith, etc.)
Hi Ben! Our tool will need to validate the address each time the csv is uploaded. For any locations marked as a service address, we will submit it to our partners but cannot guarantee they will hide the physical location from their sites.

My Facebook / Twitter Shares Not Showing Up
Hey Bridget, Thanks for writing in and sorry for the confusion. The metrics we show for social media shares are URL specific, so we aren't seeing any Facebook or Tweets of the specific URL www.riddelllaw.com and, if you view the top pages section, we show the social shares for the top 25 pages of the site, which also don't have Facebook or Twitter shares. All of the pages we show in OSE include the www in the URL (because the non-www version of the site redirects to the www version). However, I checked specifically the Twitter and Facebook pages for the site and all of the links to the site are shared as the non-www version of the URL: http://screencast.com/t/KMLrwCJHapB Because the www and the non-www pages are considered as different pages, we would not show the shares of the non-www pages when you are looking up the www version of the site in OSE. I hope this information helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Chiaryn

One more redirect question
This would be a good place to utilize a canonical. You can specify which one you want to be as the main source, and which is the duplicate.

Ecommerce specialized portals subdomains or different domains
Hello Anthony, The general site will have categories as subfolders in the url, like mazsports.co.uk/soccer or mazsports.co.uk/tennis but this category folders are only selections on the ecommerce platform product grid, not specialized subsites. For example the blog at running.mazsports.co.uk would be running.mazsports.co.uk/blog not the general one at mazsports.co.uk/blog, and the running site will have its own categories like running.mazsports.co.uk/trail-shoes. I think this specialization is important on my sector.

MOZ Onpage grade and Google ranking.
Website Grader just analyzes the presence of specific tags and sections. It doesn't analyze the overall quality and effectiveness of the page. Meaning, I can get an "A" and make a page not rank very easily, as well as being able to get a page to rank decently while still getting an "F." It all depends on how competitive the vertical is, and how authoritative my domain is.

Too many reviews too quickly?
I have the same question. While I appreciate the replies from Andy and Miriam, neither backed up their answers with evidence. Has Google ever stated specifically that too many reviews too quickly could get a site penalized or have the reviews not "count?" Or has anyone ever published research or examples? Thanks, Paul

Is it appropriate to use review markup for testimonials without numerical rankings
Hello Oren, Most of the information I have seen requires some kind of rating number or data in order for reviews to show in the SERP. If you look at google's guidelines for setting up structured data for an individual review, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/146645?hl=en#individual , you will see the 'rating ' is one of the properties. If you set this up without the rating property and then ran it through the rich snippet testing tool you will see an error and therefore the data will not be displayed in the SERP. Also, in my experience, ratings structured data can be a bit finicky too, if the markup is not 100% accurate, then they do not display. Hope that helps.
