SEO Implications of Moving Blog to Subdomain
This video is nearly 2 years old and people are still saying to use sub-folder. not sub-domain. I am knee deep in setting up a proxy to deal with this because my ecommerce site runs under tomcat and we use wordpress for our blog. Simple to get going but keeping it the way it was would be easier..

What are some good reputation management tools?
To ensure you've registered and created a good presence throughout social media for your brand names / terms, check out Knowem. Run by Michael Streko out of New Jersey, been around for five or so years now. There are a bunch of different options / packages you can sign up for. It's not 100% reputation management in the traditional sense but they do a lot of brand protection and monitoring that most definitely falls into that category. The enterprise package might be what you're looking for.

Paid Press Releases: Good for SEO or bad?
There is amazing trust flow with press distribution and it is VERY possible to rank certain queries with Press alone (read low comp local), however, ignoring the branding and view/traffic potential is a mistake. Do not believe the hype that they are ineffective as an inclusion to your ranking strategy.

Multiple Author Rich Snippets On A Q&A Forum Page
The answer on this page is from someone that tested it, with 2 authors: http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/25140/how-to-implement-rel-author-on-a-page-with-multiple-authors You can test it as well and use the tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets) to see what happens. I don't doubt that you'll end up with the same results -- the 1st instance of rel=author is going to be used. I've come across this discussion a few times, and it always ends the same... there just isn't (currently) a way to handle multiple authors for 1 page using rel=author. On your forum, is there a "best answer" chosen? Maybe you can assign the respondent that gives the "best answer" the authorship? I'm not sure how Google will feel about that though, as it's not a clear article or blog post that is being assigned authorship. Rather, it's just a response in a discussion. Much like blog comments. Although blog comments aren't exactly like your scenario, it's similar enough, and it would be strange if a blog comment author was set as the author for a whole page.

How to properly implement HTTPS?
Hi, You shouldn't have to do anything in WMT as there isn't an option for preferred URLs between HTTPS and HTTP (whilst there is an option to say if you prefer http://site.com/ or http://www.site.com/). Google should pick up and acknowledge the 301s if you choose to do this, ranking only your HTTPS URLs. It used to be the case that this wasn't recommended for SEO, but Google has come a long way with dealing with secure URLs. Just a quick search for inurl:https will show you how many sites are indexed with SSL URLs. Some have done it properly; some have not.

Google lists eBay.au number one for vertical garden and their sellers are using my IMAGES
Hi Felicity, Unfortunately this won't be something Google would consider grounds for reducing Ebay's ranking for this keyword / these items (duplication of images, including both theft and legitimate re-purposing) is absolutely rampant online so duplicate images aren't easy to police and in most cases, it doesn't make sense to do so. Have you tried reporting the listings to Ebay Australia? Have a look here - http://ocsnext.ebay.com.au/ocs/sr?search=1&query=1732&popularTool=true&st=0&popularToolName=Report%20an%20item Especially if the items are knock-offs or not really what they purport to be, Ebay might take some action on the listings or sellers. I would think that is your best bet. Cheers, Jane

Local Subdomain vs. Local Subfolder
To add to what Cyrus has said, Google will "choose" a version of content it finds duplicated to favour, so has clearly chosen the local. subdomain. The main website would likely fall back into favour if you were to consolidate the subdomain and redirect it to the main site, but I would definitely find out if the third party agency who developed the subdomain has done some promotion of the subdomain that you aren't aware of. There is no real problem using subdomains or subfolders for specific local rankings / campaigns. I wouldn't say you are gaming or abusing it here - you have a dupe content problem that needs fixing though. If you were to use subfolders, the duplicate content problem would remain as long as there are multiple versions of the same content, but if you were to consolidate the main site and subdomain's strength, then any subfolders you added to the one remaining site (assuming all content was unique) should inherit authority.

I have been a subcriber for 2 months now and I need a LOT of HELP!!
Hi Kimberly, Thank you for coming here for help! I definitely understand—we all started somewhere, and there's a lot of information in your account. Most of our educational materials can be found in the Learn section. Specifically, though, the best place to get an understanding of SEO, and inbound marketing in general, is The _Beginner's Guide to SEO. _It's a solid overview of the concepts, and can be pretty easily read in an afternoon. Then, for drilling into specific concepts and techniques, I suggest spending a little time in Moz Academy. The videos are very engaging, and should give you a good idea of how to apply what you'll learn in the Beginner's Guide. That should give you a great background in inbound concepts and terminology, and make your time in the Help Hub and Moz Analytics much more valuable. If you get in there, though, and aren't sure how to get going, Cyrus Shepard has outlined a basic SEO process in "How to Rank: 25 Step SEO Master Blueprint." Of course, feel free to ask questions if you get stuck again!

Stolen website content
You should be fine if his version of the content has disappeared before yours goes live. It's fairly normal for content to appear in more than once place over the course of time, so you won't fall into a filter or penalty situation with this, as long as his content has been deindexed. Best to check that it is no longer cached before yours goes live, but it should not take long for Google to drop it.

URL Parameter Being Improperly Crawled & Indexed by Google
Hey jStrong, Thanks for your response. I was thinking along the same lines, but I'm TERRIFIED of losing rank for this keyword. Technically, you're correct. However, what Google actually does can sometimes be questionable. I think we'll test this out on one of our lower volume and less strategic keywords and see how Google reacts. I'll respond to this thread once we get results back. Thanks again! Kevin

How can you perform productive local SEO when the company is moving?
Hi CakeLady, Your hands are a bit tied, but there are a couple of things you can do prior to the move. Create a spreadsheet listing all of the citations of the business so that you have this ready to start working from, as soon as the move is live. Remember, Google doesn't let you list (re-list) a business until it has actually opened, so you want to hold off on actual implementation until the move is accomplished fact. Create a document assessing all areas of the website that will need to be updated to reflect the new location once the move happens. Again, this way, you'll have your plan of action developed and ready to put in place quickly once the move happens. Create another document containing social messaging snippets you'll be publishing on all your social profiles once the move happens, announcing the change of location. Create additional new content (for the website, blog, both) to be launched when the move goes live, reflecting the new location. Prepare your client for the fact that they may experience some ranking changes until the business is re-established at the new location. Study up on the best way to implement a move in Google's local system so that you're secure in current best practices. With these things in hand, you'll be able to act swiftly once the move happens.

Moz Account - How to Select Monthly Timeframes
Hey Adam, Thanks for the question. How the monthly timeframe works is it generates on the first day of the month as long as there is at least 21 days of data. Otherwise it will wait for the next monthly cycle. Unfortunately in your case you had 18 days of data so there was not a complete data set to work with. Sorry about that. Cheers, Joel.

Oops! It looks like we had an issue creating your campaign
Thank you for reaching out! I'm Maura Hubbell, software engineer and member of the Mozzer Alliance, the Help Team's help team. I've found out that protecvinduer.dk is responding with HTTP code 302, a temporary redirect, to protecwindows.com. Since protecwindows.com isn't a subdomain of protecvinduer.dk, we won't any redirect from the former to the latter. You need to set up your campaign with protecwindows.com. Thanks for your question.
