Multiple domains for the same business
There is no real need to use all those domains. Build the trust and authority with your primary brand URL. Maybe use "some" others if there is any real value but 500, jeeze!!! That will be a ton of work and I think you'd be spreading yourself too thin. The best plan of action IMO is to focus on properly optimizing and building the TRUST for the company's branded URL. Forget all that old school "microsite" nonsense

Investigating Google's treatment of different pages on our site - canonicals, addresses, and more.
Hi Atticus, Just want to clarify that you are not seeking actual local rankings for this, as rental buildings are considered ineligible business models per Google's Local Business Information Guidelines which read: Rental or for-sale properties, such as vacation homes or vacant apartments, are not eligible to be listed on Google Maps and should not be verified. Instead, verify the business information for your sales or leasing office or offices. If you have a property with an on-site office, you may verify that office location. So, if Local is out due to the business model, then this becomes a purely organic puzzle. Google's treatment of a query like '44 Wall St' is going to be varied, due to the lack of specificity of such a query. They are not sure why you are looking for this address and the results I see consist of a variety of answers on Google's part including Mapquest results, some attorneys that work there, some rental offices, etc. In other words, the results are a hodgepodge. "44 Wall St office space" is a much clearer query, in terms of its intent. Competition looks extremely stiff for this, and searching from California, I see you coming up on page 3 of Google's organic results. Moving up in a situation like that is likely going to result from the typical organic factors (authority, age, activity, freshness, etc.) If you're not duplicating content or building bad links, then it's probably not a penalty - just a competitive environment. I'm hoping you'll receive further feedback from the community on this!

Switching from .co to com?
I agree with WilliamKammer. Our team religiously uses the MoZ website migration guide when dealing with site transfers. At best, you can "minimize" the risk. No real way to prevent the dip in traffic or know when it will level out unfortunately.

Panda Question on Aggregated Testimonials - Need Input
Well, there are a lot of sites that aggregate reviews. But they're generally adding some sort of other value. I wouldn't actively try to spread the same review. Content gets scraped every day, why pay for something that's going to happen anyway? That's my general take on things like this. Looking into the situation a little deeper, I think this particular effort is about rep. mgmt. The first thing that has to happen is actually fixing the issue, or issues, with the business. No matter what's done, traditional approaches to reputation management are just a bandage if a real problem exists. What you can do instead is something similar to the Reputation Management Workout section. It's a pretty good overview of how you can generate real reviews. Once those start coming in, you can iframe them or use them as an image. I've seen a case, here on the Moz forum, where a site appeared to drop considerably after including reviews on their site. I'm not 100% sure that was the root cause, but it was also the only change. So if you're feeling feisty, you can try it out and let me know. That particular site was using Schema markup for an aggregate rating without the other reviews. So you can see there are a lot of possible ways to do this inappropriately. Actual, unique, reviews that are properly marked up should be kosher in HTML form. Just be careful to avoid general review spam/schema spam.

Merging 4 websites into one for a new site release (301 question)
Only do 301 if the other sites have great value, you say that you have merged all content on 1 site an rewritten it? Google will automatic see the new content, the only reason i think you should do a 301 is if the other sites have a PR higher than 3 or 4, pr 2 and 1 are EASY to get. So take the new uniq content your wrote, combine each site with your different keywords. More on same page are good for results. You dont need a landing page for each keyword. I would do this: Check the PR and Alexa for all the sites, figure out if the traffic is real customers or just scans. There is no point in redirecting scan bots to new site, they will come automatic. Then i would do the 301 from Google Webmaster Tools and make sure that they all go to front site of brand.com site. But only if they have anything to offer for your new site.

Can I upgrade my moz subscription from large to premium without getting my campaigns being deleted?Do i need to wait till the end of the month to resubscribe?
Hi there! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. Thanks for reaching out! If you upgrade nothing will happen to your existing campaigns. An upgrade just increases your limits, and frees up space more more juicy data. You should be good to go! However, if at some point you decided to downgrade, you'd want to lower your limits within your campaigns first. The system won't delete campaigns, but if you downgrade plans before lowering your limits, it will archive certain campaigns so you don't go over your data. How to remove duplicate content issues for thin page(containing oops no resulting found)
Hi, If you simply want to stop these pages from being indexed until they have some non-duplicate content on them, you could use the meta robots tag in your This is how that would look: <meta name="robots" content="<strong>noindex</strong>"></meta name="robots"> And this will immediately drop these pages from the index when googlebot crawls a page with this directive in the If you wish to stop these pages being crawled by rogerbot (moz’s crawler) so the duplicate content errors do not show up, you could add these lines to your robots.txt: User-agent: rogerbot Disallow: /oopspage1.html Disallow:/oops/page2.php User-agent: * Allow: / This will still allow googlebot to crawl these pages, and will keep them in the index, so when you do update the content you won’t have any problems if you forget to remove the meta robots tag on these pages. Be careful with robots.txt and remember that Disallow:/oops/ will stop crawlers from crawling subpages of the /oops/ folder, so you need to remember your filenames. But in this case, since you’re only setting these rules for rogerbot, it wouldn’t be catastrophic for your site but it’s best to take care either way. In reality though, duplicate content is a problem when multiple pages are competing with each other for the same terms. Sometimes the wrong version of the page will be displayed above your preferred version. Unless you’re looking to rank for your ‘Oops nothing here’ phrase, these duplicate content problems are nothing to worry about and the notices will soon disappear from your crawl errors when you create some fresh content for them. Keyword Cannibalization? My home page is ranking higher for a keyword that another page is targeting
First, I'd say it is quite normal for your homepage to outrank interior pages, even when the interior page is much more specifically optimized for the term. Here are some thoughts: Make sure there is a link straight to the Cooking section above the fold on the homepage Do you have sitelinks yet in your Google results? If so, you can demote any that are less relevant... and make sure to leave the cooking/baking sitelinks in place. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/47334?hl=en I would focus on adding content in the cooking section. Beyond posts about specific classes, can you come up with a new page or 2 of general cooking content to add each month? Overall, it appears the site is very new. A steady flow of new content to the categories, along with the effects of time, should get you the results you are looking for.

Should we de-index pages that not receiving any traffic?
Hi Vadim, My initial response/question would be: If you are willing to consider de-indexing those pages, why not just remove them from the site completely? Perhaps I am misunderstanding. Maybe this is what you are thinking of doing anyway? It is not uncommon on larger sites for a very small number of pages to be driving almost all of the traffic. Still, there may be people linking to some of those pages and that may be helping you, even if you aren't getting traffic from them. It sounds like it could be a possibility that you are cannibalizing keywords but not sure until taking a deeper dive. If you added pages targeting substantially similar keywords it could be that Google is having difficulty determining which page is more important for a given term. Consequently, neither page does as well as it could if there were only one. Generally speaking, more pages on a site is a good thing, but only when the content is really unique and fulfills a need or want from your audience. What did you do to promote this new content? Sometimes it takes some serious effort and coordination to get a piece of content noticed. The days of "If we build it they will come" are long gone. Maybe you just need to promote those new pages?
