  • Hi! In this case Moz, isn't the smartest with their tool. What they're doing here is just checking the total source code apparently for the number of keyword matches in there. But what this does is that it's also checking all your META tags in the head. In your case I see at least another 4 mentions in there from OG:Description, OG:Title and Twitter:Title and Twitter:Description. Another 4 mentions are currently happening in your Schema.org at the top for Organization, that's where I just stopped looking for more instances as they're probably just hidden somewhere else in either ALT tags or other snippets. So I would, in this case, go with your own calculations for just using the number of mentions that is on the page and ignore the number that Moz is reporting here. Hopefully, Moz will change this over time and only check the occurrences in the actual BODY content. Martijn.

  • Honestly, I would recommend you hit up some of the people that you actually know on twitter that are connected with Moz. Disclaimer: If do not fit the description below under The Moz Blog I would not recommend bothering anybody. I don't want to put anybody in a tough situation here but I was told during MozCon from a friend I could post in the blog but I have been contributing to Moz since 2011 & I actually know the people I'm talking to. I also have never posted anything to "The Moz Blog" So I don't know if it would've been published or not. "The Moz Blog The industry's top wizards, doctors, and other experts offer their best advice, research, how-tos, and insights—all in the name of helping you level-up your SEO and online marketing skills. Looking for the YouMoz Blog  View the Archive at https://moz.com/ugc" So my advice to you as well attend MozCon and other search conferences get to know the people personally. Honestly, I say this with a lot of caution because I don't want to get people writing in their thinking that regular content is going to be good enough. It has to be exceptional content and you must be an expert at what you're writing about. You could submit a draft I'm sure that the folks at Moz would read it and if it was a good fit I'm sure they would post it. Hope that helps, Tom

  • Each case is different.  That said can give you some general rules we use.  If the Brand name is short ie 6 characters or less. We use Brand in all Title tags.  - ie | Brand If long - some Brands 2-3 words we always use Brand on Home Page, Contact Page, privacy pages etc. Product pages - often go with the product only.  Then after that we just look at individual pages and determine what is best for the consumer and search engines. Hope that assists.

  • I don’t think it will do much. Unless you’re current  domain is really no doing well. It would need constant content to rank well.

  • Hi there, The Link Explorer tool is primarily for tracking external, or inbound links. You can read more about this tool here: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer You can use Site Crawl to find out more detailed data on your internal links and and if you export your CSV you will be able to see all the pages we have crawled. At the moment it's not possible to export internal comparative link data form Link Explorer However, Xenu or Search Console (Webmaster Tools) may support this function. If there is anything else I can help you with please do let me know!

  • Hello, I'm getting back to you about a point in your answer : "So you have to make clear that it is not 90% branded traffic , it should be more unbranded keywords.  In this case - before I would do anything, I would try to figure out why subfolder 2 is ranking for these terms and why subfolder 1 is not." I understood and one of the main Keywords is "muebles" (Furniture in english) but the pages are really similar. Except for the basic "Title, Meta, H1, etc" are there others characteristics or feature I should look into ? Thank you Maxime

  • Have you done a side-by-side comparison of your client and his top competitors? Things I'd be looking for: Are his top competitors specialists in the topics you want to rank for whereas your client is more of a generalist? What is your client's online reputation relative to the competition?  Is the sentiment positive, neutral, or negative? How does their anchor text compare? Are the topics you want to rank for included in the link text? Do competitors have keywords in their domain name? I know that's not a ranking factor, but it often translates into incoming anchor text with those topics / keywords which IS a ranking factor. Is the content on your client's site organized around the key topics he wants to be known for? Is your client listed as its author? So, no tricks or hacks. Just a few things I look for when in this situation.

  • I am not 100% in agreement with Alick. Google struggles a bit with subdomains, it sometimes treats them as separate websites sometimes as the same website.  John Mueller informed Distilled of same circa 12 months ago. I would be cautious going down the path suggested, can you not migrate the content and re-direct? Hope that helps.

  • IMO they are creating problem for no reason. I can't think of any reason a separate server would be worth the headache. Just put it in it's own folder or subdomain if you really want to separate them. IMO.

  • Hi there! For your first query, it sounds like you're looking at Keyword Explorer Ranking Keywords - is that right? If so, I would note that while our database is quite large, it doesn't contain all keywords for all locations. This is why it's common for folks to use a range of tools as each will have a slightly different database with different strengths to do their keyword research. In regards to your second query, I would echo Alick300's reply, that the thread they shared is a wealth of information. Basically PA and DA indicate the likelihood that a page or domain will rank. However what page will actually rank for any given search is really up to the search engine algorithm, they consider a while array of factors, to do with on-page and off-page optimization. relevancy and authority. We've got a very comprehensive guide to DA which I strongly recommend. I hope this helps to clarify! Jo
