  • Hey there, Yeah, I'd go ahead and Implement the canonical tags to the higher-performing website on category and product-level pages. However, if you're feeling a little unsure I'd recommend testing it with a sample set of pages and just monitor the impact to your client's site and adjust accordingly. That's a bummer they won't let you consolidate the sites though.  The other thing I'd probably consider is investing a bit in local SEO since your client sells home good products. Hope that helps.

  • Hi there! You can do this in a couple of ways. In a Moz Pro campaign in  the 'Rankings' area, we'll track the movement of any of your tracked keywords - you can filter using the date range drop down to the top right. You can also track movement within the Rank Checker tool https://analytics.moz.com/pro/research/rankings - this is for checking keywords against specific URLs, and the graph will show you a data point for each time you’ve refreshed the rank and will show you up to a year of data. If you're still running into any trouble please do pop a message over to help@moz.com and we'll be happy to assist further!

  • The age of your domain impacts how well you rank in the SERPs is an SEO myth. John Mueller and Matt Cutts have said the below: • Domain Age is not a ranking factor. • New domains may be dampened for a few months to help fight spam. • Old domains may positively correlate to better rankings due to other factors. Source(s): John Mueller (April 12, 2017), Matt Cutts (Oct 26, 2016), John Mueller (Jan. 15, 2016).

  • Hey Carrie, The first thing I would do is figure out which version is already indexed by Google or like other Mozzers have stated pick the version with the higher page authority according to Moz. Also, in the event, your CMS doesn't handle the trailing slash issue you can update your Htaccess file to set up dynamic redirects to whichever version you prefer. Daniel Morell has a good guide on htaccess SEO specifically there's a section on how to force trailing slash within the htaccess file. Good luck

  • There are several factors that you need to check to determine whether a backlink is positive or negative for the SEO of the site. Whenever you consider disavowing a backlink you should be very careful and take all factors into account, because if you disavow backlinks that are positive to your site, your rankings will decrease. That is why Google has "hidden" the link disavow tool. The main factors that you should take into account are: Domain Authority Page Authority Spam Score Relevancy You can read more about it in my answer here. • Checking your domain and keyword on Moz Rank Checker, I see that it does rank for the keyword, but it is low in ranks (51+). [image: 7LSIiIiIiIuKalCCMiIiIiIiIsbKsIAwAAAAAAACwniEIAwAAAAAAQKwgCAMAAAAAAECs+P87I7GgIM+iuwAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==] [image: vv+gwBIAAAAASUVORK5CYII=] The keywords are a bit difficult to rank for (22+), so you should work more on building quality links, and it should start ranking. Note that the attached metrics are for the US searches, so different stats will apply for other geo-locations. • From what I have read, so much of the web is duplicate content so it really doesn't matter if the pdf is on other sites; let google figure it out. (example, every car brand dealer has a pdf of the same car model brochure on their dealer site) No big deal. Visitors will be landing on your site from other search relevance - the duplicate pdf doesn't matter. Just my take. Adrian

  • It is difficult to tell whether Google will mark the two locations as the same business and link them to your site when it comes to local citations, but the usual stance as also outlined at Moz here, is that you always use the short version of the address, since not all sites will allow you to put the full-length address. So, what you can do is update your website and other profiles where you have inserted the address to have the short version: Blue Widgets Ltd Hope Springs, Stow on the Wold POSTCODE That should help you be consistent with nearly every local citation. • It is actually a good idea to split the two language versions into two different sites as it will help each of the sites rank in their own countries. It's an even better idea to use country-specific domains for that. To make things clear, translated content is not duplicate content. The search engines have no incentive to penalize sites for translating their content, so you would be safe from any filter that search engines might use. However, you are advised to use hreflang when linking to the different language versions of the site to let the search engines know that both sites are linked together, as it would help search engines provide the correct language version of the site to targeted users. • Hi there! Thanks so much for the great question! We'd be happy to look into the redirect chain we're reporting in the crawl and why it's being reported if you can send an email on over to help@moz.com with the name of the Campaign you're working with. Then we can investigate and look at your Campaign settings as well. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Hi there, Unfortunately, at this time additional user access is a function limited to Moz Pro. Seated users on your account won't be able to access your Moz Local listings. Sorry about that! The only real workaround is to share login information with other users, but I'll be sure to let the product team know that you are interested in allowing seats access to Moz Local as well.
