Get up and running with the Moz tools.

  • Hey Chris, Thanks for the question! During the initial campaign setup it's just a url validation that we do. There's not actually a user-agent associated with it. We just look for something to resolve with a 200 response. If you've got your exception setup for rogerbot then that should be fine to proceed despite the warning. I hope that helps. Cheers, Joel..

  • Shameless plug, but I did an interview with Rand Fishkin from Moz about SEO relating to ecommerce sites, it was published last week. You might find some tips here, http://www.prestashop.com/blog/en/seo-expert-series-rand-fishkin-of-moz/

  • The option to replace logo isn't available for suscriptions of $99. You need to have a better suscription.

  • Thank you, Sean! The workaround gets me in with no problem! I tried it on my Mac, and a Windows machine with no luck (the only computer it worked on was my Linux system running Ubuntu) so this definitely helps. Thanks again, Robert

  • The crawl test will show the results in a CSV file, but not update on your dashboard. It is a way to spot-check and see if the changes have been made. When you go to your crawl diagnostics page, it will tell you the date of the last crawl. We crawl on the same day each week.

  • Thanks, Joel. So it looks like the solution is I need to use the same email address in Moz that is associated with our new GA accounts....in order to deliver the correct GA accounts through GA's API. Can I just change my email associated with my Moz account in the Login Settings to allow the correct GA accounts to feed into Moz? Or do I have to shut down this account and reinstate my Moz account with the universal email address that has our new GA accounts? What's the best next step here? Thanks for your guidance.

  • Hey There, I looked into your blog campaign, and I am seeing full data available there. We did have an issue earlier this week with traffic data showing zeros on many campaigns due to a disruption of our connected with GA, caused be a DDoS attack. That issue has been resolved and the traffic data is correctly populating in your campaign now. Please take a look and let me know if you are seeing any further issues with your data. Chiaryn

  • Hi, While no single backlink checker on this planet would show you same amount of backlinks that a website has, the only better way is to consolidate data from different tools like, ahrefs, OSE, Google webmaster tools account etc. No single tool can give you comprehensive backlink data. Hope it helps my friend. Good Luck to you. Best regards, Devanur Rafi

  • Hi there, Spencer has it right - to analyze the backlinks of your competitor, simply pop the URL of your competitor into Open Site Explorer and you can see all the link metrics for that domain. The reason your own link reports might be empty are if your website is new or if it has no backlinks itself that our crawlers have found. If you had links that we have metrics on, they would show here. But note that these are your links, and not your competitors. Again, you can use Open Site Explorer to see your competitor links. I can definitely see how this might be confusing. I'll add a note for our product and engineering teams to suggest ways to make this more clear and easy to use! Thanks for writing in!

  • Hey Dustin, I would love to look into this further for you, but I would need to know which campaign you are referring to in order to investigate the issue. If you prefer to keep your campaign details private, please email them to help@moz.com. Chiaryn

  • Hi! Thanks for letting us know about this. Unfortunately, we are experiencing intermittent issues with our tools as a result of ongoing DDoS attacks. I am so, so sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you. As the issues are intermittent, would you mind trying to add the campaign again? Rest assured, Moz engineers are working as hard as possible to resolve the tacks and resulting instability. For ongoing status updates, please visit Moz Health. For details on the DDoS attacks on Moz, please check out this article from the NYTimes: Tally of Cyber Extortion on Tech Companies Grows. Thank you so much for your patience. We really appreciate it! Kind Wishes, Christy

  • Hello Marco, Thanks for trying out Moz and for jumping in on our Q&A forum! In Moz Analytics, we collect data and build timeframes weekly and monthly for all sections of your campaign. In addition, there are daily timeframes for Social and for Traffic from Search (if you have Google Analytics connected to your Moz Analytics campaign). In addition, you can setup Custom Reports with any combination of Moz Analytics modules to run daily, weekly, or monthly with direct email delivery to you and/or your clients. As you explore Moz Analytics further, you might benefit from the Getting Started guide and from Matt Brown's awesome blog post, A Field Guide to Moz Analytics. Regarding Domain Authority over time - yes! Check out the Links section of Moz Analytics where you can track not only your own DA over time, but DA over time for up to three competitors. The Field Guide linked above includes a screenshot of this section (scroll to/search: "Links: new features for competitor tracking"). I hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to engage us and our awesome community if you have any other questions. Cheers, Jeremy

  • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to provide some feedback, greatly appreciated Pete! There are no site-wide footer links that I know of, so I think we're good. Martin

  • Hi Robert, If you go to your profile: http://moz.com/community/users/3868035, you'll see an "Edit" button a bit to the right of your profile picture. When you click that button, you'll be taken to the "edit" view of your profile, where you'll see fields where you can tie your social accounts to Moz. You'll see icons for Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and LinkedIn. From here, all you need to do is add your +example into the field associated with Google+. If you don't know your +example name, you can open your Google+ page and find it in the URL. What you need to enter is what comes after (and including) the + in the URL. I hope that's been helpful Robert, cheers!
