When Moz provides an on-page grade report card, what tells Moz which keyword to grade for?
They're automatically chosen. If the keyword is ranking in the top 50 of your preferred search engine, the keyword is added. We have some more information at http://moz.com/help/pro/on-page-reports that should help.

Where is Term Extractor tool?
Hi David, The Term Extractor has been disabled a couple of times and according to some other threads in the forum: http://moz.com/community/q/do-you-want-seomoz-to-bring-back-their-term-extractor-tool there have been a couple of requests to bring it back. In Google Adwords there is a tool itself to see which keywords from the page are important for Google. You should check it out, it could be a good replacement for your needs. Cheers.

Opensite Explorer Not Showing Link Root Domains correctly
Hey Thomas, Thanks for writing in with a great question. The Mozscape index, which powers Open Site Explorer, is actually a different system than the Just Discovered Links section. Just Discovered Links specifically crawls fresh news sources and blogs to find links that were updated recently, while the data for the Mozscape index is collected by a separate crawler that can take weeks to crawl the web based on the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank. The data in the main section of Open Site Explorer can be collected several weeks prior to the index update while Just Discovered Links is collected constantly. While these to data sources aren't currently integrated, we are working to integrate them in the future. Just so you know, here's how we compile our Mozscape index: We grab the most recent index. We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains). We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 90,000,000,000 pages (which is about 35% the amount in Google's index). Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index. Sorry! We update our Mozscape Index every 4 weeks. Crawling the entire Internet to look for links takes 2-3 weeks, but our crawlers are always in motion. When we need to start processing, we grab all the data they have collected and start processing which can take up to 3 weeks to determine which of those links are the most important. You can see our most recently updated schedule here: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-linkscape-update-schedule Mozscape focuses on a breadth-first approach. Therefore we almost always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages, and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these. If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that point to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Mozscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them. I hope this information helps! While the site and links may not be indexed yet, give it some time - maybe we'll see it in OSE next month. Chiaryn Miranda Help Team Ninja

Hi guys, how can I access the on-demand Top Pages Reports? Thanks!
Hey Bernie, Thanks for the question. It sounds like you're looking for the Top Pages report in Open Site Explorer. This is about as On-Demand as it gets being able to run this query for any site you desire. Here's that report ran for moz.com: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/pages?site=moz.com You'll need to make sure you're logged into your Moz Pro account in order to get unlimited queries there. I hope that helps. Let me know if that's not what you're after. Cheers, Joel.

Java script links in Wordpress causing 404 not found
Alternatively you could do this an entirely different, and better IMHO, way by putting all of that content ON the page and using div tags with "display:none" that will change to display the content when the link is clicked, activating an on-click javascript event. This sounds complicated but really it is what most eCommerce stores do when they have tabbed content (e.g. product description, details, specs, shipping....) that doesn't all display at once and requires a user to click a tab to show the content there. Here is a simple example with information on how to implement it.

Does Moz Pro generate similar keyword phrases in a list (preferably showing their difficulty %) or is it only one phrase at a time with no similar words/phrases suggested?
Yes, thank you. I found some info on using the new Google Keyword Planner properly along with Ubersuggest to get recommendations for new keyword ideas. That's more what I was referring to because everything I was thinking of on my own was coming up with impossible to break Top 10's. (Saving and investing websites are tough). But thank you.

Why moz does not update actual keyword possition
Dr. Pete just posted an article that might help explain what's going on here - http://moz.com/blog/comparing-ranktracking-methods-browser-vs-crawler-vs-webmaster-tools Moz uses a crawler to track the rankings you see in your reports. Because of personalization and a variety of other factors, the results in the report might be slightly different than what you see when manually searching in your browser.

Keyword Difficulty search volumes - frequency?
Hi Carlo Thank you for your reply and a really helpful one at that. Very much appreciated. What you say makes sense and I agree largely. I guess though that if Bing is showing 13 exact match searches per month then you can at least assume Google will deliver more and especially if targeting in the UK for a UK audience where the percentage of search volume Google enjoys is a lot more than Bing which seems to be more popular in the US whilst being a long way short of out ranking Google. When providing some sort of expectation for customers who want their pages optimised then I think it is reasonable to give them some sort of metric. It's wise of course not to inflate that too much because of the reasons you have outlined, but maybe an uplift based on having a 50% market reach (rather than the UK's 90%) for Google would still be a conservative estimate? Of course search volume does not equal click volume which is important for customers to understand. An estimate of 42% clicks from searches for a number 1 ranked site is a number I have heard, with that number decreasing the lower the page ranks on the first page. I don't know if that is accurate but it sounds reasonable. Thanks again, Peter

How to print segmented keyword lists to PDF?
Hey Justin, Thanks for writing in. At this time, we can only export the full list of keywords to PDF and the sorting function is only available in the actual web app. We are working to greater reporting functionality for reporting in Moz Analytics and this is one of the functionalities we are still reviewing. I've forwarded your request over to our Product Team so they can take your feedback into consideration. Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

Adding Labels to Existing Keywords
When you are in your campaign settings, under Manage Keywords, place a check in the box(es) adjacent to the keyword(s) you want to associate a label. Then, use the Add/Clear Labels dropdown to select a current label or create a new one. Finally, click Add Labels to add the selected labels to the selected keywords. Hope this helps. Mike

How to fix URL duplications
I would recommend redirecting them also, but one thing I wouldn't recommend is using htacess to redirect them. If you are redirecting 9k urls you are going to feel a speed impact across your whole site if you use the htaccess to re-direct the urls. Put the redirects in your httpd.con file and it will keep things speedy since it does not load per site access. It usually sits in memory just waiting. Also, I have to ask, are you duplicates caused by url strings or are they genuine duplicates? By url string I mean, site.com/page.php, site.com/page.php?variable=dog site.com/page.php?variable=cat. and so on. If that is the case you can just start redirecting any variable if you do not actually need them. Also one thing you need to consider is adding a canonical tag to the pages, so while you are working on things search engines know what is the original link worthy content.

Internal followed links 1
I don't think is a glitch, you just started the campaign Moz never crawled your site before so it actually doesn't have any information yet. Give it a day, I think the first crawl is run after you start the campaign. However, OSE info could take a while to update. You should check your crawl diagnostics instead if the site is too new.

How do I find #of RSS Subscribers", "Most Popular Post URL", "What is the most popular post about"
Hi Mohammed, I apologize if I mistook your question. Let me see if I can answer that correctly for you. one method would be to use Alexa and type in simply most popular blogs do not check off any other categories or countries. It will then give you a list of the most popular blogs and the way it decides what is more popular than the other is by how much traffic the blogs receive here is the URL with the query in it. http://www.alexa.com/search?q=most+popular+blogs&p=gkey&r=site_screener if you use Google blog search it will target only blogs and give you the ability to query only blogs when you wish to find information on them. http://www.google.com/blogsearch this website below uses Alexa gives you exactly what you are asking for as far as the most popular blogs and it allows you to set it via month and go back and look at the past as well http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/blogs in other method of finding the most popular posts would be to use this tool for blogger http://www.blogger.webaholic.co.in/2011/05/popular-posts-widget-for-blogger.html I would consider signing up for discuss and querying which blogs receive the most comments here is a article on how to find the most popular blogs for your topic http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/06/how-to-quickly-find-good-blogs-that.html https://www.google.com/search?q=blog+popularity&source=univ&tbm=nws&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=oRAjUsbgLpHi8gSd8IHwCQ&ved=0CEUQqAI Here is a interesting article from life hacker on how to get only the blog posts you want via RSS http://lifehacker.com/344188/get-only-the-posts-you-want-from-lifehackers-site-feeds here are the top websites in the world http://www.alexa.com/topsites here is about.com and a list of the 10 most popular blogs in the world http://webtrends.about.com/od/profile1/tp/Top-10-Most-Popular-Blogs.htm one method is to use a tool like Alexa something that indexes and already knows the popularity of the websites it gives you access to. For instance I can go into category "top sites" "news" then select "weblogs" and receive this http://www.alexa.com/topsites/category/Weblogs I believe this last link might be the most useful to you http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/06/how-to-quickly-find-good-blogs-that.html the question about RSS feeds and the number of subscribers is able to be answered using this tool however they must be using feed burner something I believe will not hurt you in your search to find out how many people have subscribed. As feed burner is by far the most popular RSS http://thinktraffic.net/how-to-find-an-unpublished-rss-subscriber-count I am sorry for the long list of links. To give you the answer regarding subscribers and most popular post I would have to say that the most popular posts is http://www.webcrawler.com/info.wbcrwl.301.6/search/web?q=most+popular+blog+posts&cid=113773113&ad.network=g&ad.keyword=most popular blog posts&ad.creative=20988964233&ad.position=1o2&ad.placement=&ad.matchtype=b&ad.aceid=&ad.ismobile=&ad.segment=info.wbcrwl.301.6 an Ehow article that I hope will help to better answer your question. http://www.ehow.com/how_2009187_most-popular-blogs.html If you would not mind elaborating more on exactly what it is you are looking to do I am certain I could be of more help. As far as trying to find the best solution for your question I hope I have done that however if I have not please let me know and I will do the best I can to answer it. If you can explain to me more fully what the end goal is I think I will be able to be of help to you. Sincerely, Thomas

My 301 Error and Duplicate Title Content Issue is Growing !
Hi there Sri, Thanks for getting in touch with us at Moz! It looks like you have a question about HTTP file access rather than our tools. Unfortunately our support team can only provide answers for our tools in particular, however you have come to the right place for SEO and web technical discussions I will leave this as a discussion and let our associates know to perhaps set the right group for people to see so you can get some discussions going. Hope that helps, I wish you the best of luck in your SEO! Peter Moz Help Team.

Opensiteexplorer
Thank You for the further explanation, since i posted my question things have definatley updated to reflect many of the most recent links we have created. But for some time there it did seem as if everything was frozen only the same links would appear and after posting my question even my domain authority jumped 3 points over night. Thanks again as it looks like my campaign stats are back on track.

Is it possible to extend my crawling date in SEO Moz?
Hi Ritesh, I know this is something that's often asked for but isn't yet possible. Your crawl date is set based on your campaign start date and can't be changed.

Can the Moz tool identify variations of a Chinese language branded keyword?
Hi Chiaryn, thanks for your help. My original question might not have communicated the problem very well, so I'll try to clarify it here. I think the algorithm is working for the English words, but it seems not to be working for the Chinese words. I have set a contains rule around the following Chinese keyword: 功夫英语. Based on my understanding of how the rules work, that should mean that the following variations of that keyword are also marked as branded keywords. 功夫英语官网 功夫英语怎么样 功夫英语网站 功夫英语视频 The problem is that these variations are not appearing as branded keywords in my traffic report. In terms of work arounds, I guess I could add each individual variation as a new keyword to be tracked (and mark it as a branded keyword), or I could add a new brand rule for each variation. However, since there are limits on both the number of brand rules and the number of keywords I can track, I'm hoping for an algorithmic solution Thanks again for your interesting in helping. I'm really enjoying the trial of the Moz service and hope that we can solve this problem. Also, if it's a Chinese language issue, I'd be happy to help out. It's a growing internet market and I suspect that more Moz community members will be dealing with Chinese sites in the future.

Moz crawl sees meta description but there are none
Problem "solved". Found out that the pages in question were timing out. So although they did not have meta descriptions the crawler, I imagine in order to not track them as missing descriptions when it doesn't know, defaults to FALSE. Now to get working on site speeds...
