  • If you are using an Apache server, you should be able to redirect the index.php file to the root by editing the .htaccess file with the following lines - RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^./index.php RewriteRule ^(.)index.php$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] If you are using WordPress, there are several plugins available which will allow you to configure this automatically so you don't have to mess with the .htaccess file manually.

  • Hi Jaleel, I would love this feature as well. Last time I checked, it was not available. You can use the SEOmoz Request a Feature page to ask for this function to be added. For now, you would need to share your username and password with any employee you wish to have access to your SEOmoz account.

  • Hey Martijn, Thanks! What about if I want to avoid rogerbot from crawling a range of pages from let's say /000001/; /000002/... /200000/ ? Thanks!

  • My Moz points seem to increase immediately by a couple of points when I post a question.   I know that Moz awards a point for the question so I assume the "extra" 2 or 3 points come from some sort of caching issue which updates when Moz awards "automatic" points for something.  Just an observation if that helps your techs who are looking into this issue.

  • Thanks for the responses, guys. I've learned a lot about SEO in the past year, but, what I've learned most is that it's practically a full-time job to appease the Google god, time I just don't have running a small business. It's just two of us who do all the work. We can't afford to hire an SEO consultant, which is why I'm trying out this site. But, I'm finding it difficult to even spend the amount of time needed on this site to make good use of it. I think our site and business niche is just too small for SEO tools to be of any use. 99% of our business comes from client referrals. The tiny amount of search engine traffic we do get rarely leads to sales. So, it's becoming clear that it makes more sense for us to spend our efforts encouraging and incentivizing client referrals than spending hours of time each week trying to get 4 more search engine referrals a day. Thanks again.  Tom

  • I figured it out. Turns out there were old pages that used the improper URL. They were very difficult to find haha

  • You will generally need programming expertise, to write a program to pull and display the data from the API.

  • Get the YOAST SEO plugin and it will canonical your site properly, noindex your tags pages and add rel prev/next tags to your paginated pages for you in addition to helping you with a lot of other SEO elements on your WP site.

  • Have you gotten the opportunity to run the site through http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test it tells you it takes 2 days but I find normally takes about 20 min. the information it gives I think is far greater than what Google Webmaster tools can ever do. Are you replying to me when you say you think it's correct about the pages having one being a category and the other being a page? Were you referring to the challenge that posted 1st? I do a lot of WordPress and would be more than happy to look at it again if you would like me to? this answered your question then? if it did please follow the guidelines and give credit where you feel are appropriate. Respectfully, Thomas Zickell

  • Check the cuurent backlink profile, clean up any bad links if you can, and don't get links from link farms. As well as everything else Robert said too.

  • My misunderstanding. Google Webmaster Tools and GA were not linked, and I was looking at wrong set up.

  • One Keyword per Page & one variation of keyword. Ensure your title & description tags have the keyword. Ensure your body contains one keyword per 100-150 words. Include one variation. Example: Dog Leash Variation: Leash for dogs

  • Istvan has the best answer here. You can crawl up to 3,000 URLs on demand from that tool, which should help with your re-crawl.
