  • Here are some common reasons why only one page may be crawled in your SEOmoz campaign. Let us know if one of these isn't the cause and we'll dig deeper! https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-re-not-crawling-all-my-pages

  • Thanks Keri, I knew it was possible but just couldn't find it myself. Not sure if I should blame it on middle age or the varifocals. Thanks for you help anyway, much appreciated.

  • Seeing if the page where your link will be placed is indexed by Google is a good thing to check, as well as the PageRank of that page.  It's probably not worth paying for a listing if you're going to end up on some deep listing with no PageRank. Probably the best directories out there are DMOZ, Yahoo, and BOTW.  Those as well as any niche specific directories and business directories. Beyond that it's probably not worth spending money or time on.

  • Hi Jean-Louis! This is Megan from SEOmoz. You're right that the number of pages getting crawled has dropped to 1 because of the change from www to non www. Unfortunately, you'll need to start a new campaign for thespin.be. The tool doesn't allow the domain of a campaign changed once it's setup. It's limited in that way, because if the parameters of a campaign were constantly changing, it could make it extremely difficult to interpret historical data in terms of why progress was or wasn't made. On the bright side, you can archive your current campaign so that you'll have all of the historical data for reference. Also, archiving doesn't take up a campaign slot. I hope this helps!

  • That's exactly what I needed to know. I presumed I was missing something as there would be no point in doing it twice!

  • I see this quite a bit on my less content filled wordpress blogs. If you have categories A and B and one post that fall under both categories crawlers see it like this. Category A: Post 1 Category B: Post 1 In addition to the permalink for the post.  You can get the same problem with tags as well. So there are multiple ways to see the same posts, which means duplicate posting.  Once more content gets added the category pages will look different so that tends to sort itself out over time.  Just explaining where it comes from. I personally like SEO Ultimate but it doesn't quite solve this problem as I still see it on my sites at the beginning.  An easy fix would be to change your robots.txt to nofollow all category/tags.

  • Hi Brian, I'm glad to hear that your rankings have now updated. Unfortunately, rankings are an unstable and fickle type of information to collect, but I certainly apologize for the delay you've experienced. We experienced a bug that began on Wednesday of last week which caused the ranking date to be collected much more slowly than usual and so rankings for some campaigns were about two days behind. We are currently caught up with the rankings and the bug that created the delay should now be fixed, so we expect the rankings for this week to be delivered on your regularly scheduled date. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else. -Chiaryn

  • The Mozscape data is what's used to populate the data in your campaigns, VI. As far as I know SEOMoz doesn't provide a pre-filtered api of just your campaign data. You'd have to put in a ticket to ask about that. help@seomoz.org Otherwise, it's a mattter of downloading the CSVs of the different reprots and manipulting the data that way. (Annie Cushing has written a terrific piece on formatting the downloaded data to replicate the SeoMoz reports, if you're interested.) Paul

  • I wish Seomoz would focus more on improving the current tools, rather than add new ones. It's been a while since any value was added to the campaign manager set.

  • You can definitely mention it, just don't make the homepage all about gastric band hypnotherapy. The trouble comes when both pages are targeting the same phrase.

  • No. But be sure that you only change the title tag on the pages and not any other meta data or anything else really. Google is more likely to ding you for a little bit to reevalaute your page, if you change more than the title tag. Dont change anything on the pages Let them get cached, change the title tag Let them get cached Then make other changes. Improving title tags will help. Cheers!

  • Another good reason to switch to Xenforo if you have to pay to have and SEO Friendly site. Thanks for your response. I have already switched 2 from vBulletin to Xenforo, so this is a good reason for #3.
