  • Thomas, I did not get something from him but got something from BaseCamp along the lines we spoke of earlier. As to Mr. Fried's comment, " ...if you would contemplate writing off the expenses for his business as this would be something he is doing for charity." Translated that is, "Why don't you guys pay us to provide it to them and write it off yourselves?" Frankly, If he will take on the CodeCamps and other STEM activities we do, I will do just that. So, I will handle this charity for him. All he has to agree to is taking on all that we do for charity. Now, where before I could take, "No," I today say why not take BaseCamp and place it .... I actually find that to be rude. His justification for not offering something to them is to act as if we are asking and we do not do things for various charitable causes. What an ass. Best

  • I am entirely biased, as I help organise the conference and I am speaking, but yes, I believe it to be extremely good value for money. I speak at conferences around the world on a regular basis and, truthfully, I don't think anywhere has matched SearchLove in terms of the quality and depth of the presentations. We are extremely passionate about providing the best possible learning experience for attendees and I think we get better and better each year. Having already seen snippets of the presentation ideas from David Sottimano and Ade Lewis, I can promise the conference will be absolutely superb.

  • Google Analytics can share or get the account itself to another user. You can use this process for have access to your stats in both accounts, or move the stats to the gmail one. But this is only valid if you have only this property on the account. You cannot get a property to another user, you need to give the entire account. Also, a google account can have multiple analytics account (The first number, for example, GA-XXXXXX), and a analytics account can have multiple properties (The second number, for example, GA-XXXXXX-1). You can give access to another user to any property or a complete account, but you can only give the entire account to another user (For changing owner). Webmaster tools, also, allows multiple users to have access to their stats. You only need to authorize the another account, or validate as a separate one. There's no difference at SEO level for using one or two google accounts. If you like to get all your services in only one account, you can only do it with your gmail account, because you cannot move or authorize gmail for other users. Also, you can mantain the two accounts, and access to all services with gmail one, because services as adwords, analytics, adsense, webmaster and others leave you the option to authorize more users.

  • Here's a necessary step to take to get a verified check mark next to your website URL on Google Plus. This is especially important if you're a local business. https://support.google.com/business/answer/4569085?hl=en

  • I submitted one several years ago, and it seemed Google really wants to hear about your non-profit and why it should have the grant status, rather than have a modified form letter.

  • Definitely try it. It has great reach and you'd be surprised how good the community is. Test it out for a while, you'll see that it's good.

  • You'll need to be running Apache with mod_ssl or Nginx with http_ssl_module enabled (And SPDY if you want), and you'll need to have 443 port enabled. Of course, you'll need to properly configure your VirtualHost(s) with a valid SSL certificate installed. Then you can simply change your "Wordpress Address" and "Site Address" in your Wordpress "Settings"-->"General" from http:// to https://. http://make.wordpress.org/support/user-manual/web-publishing/https-for-wordpress/ Hope that helps!

  • Thomas, You've shown great enthusiasm in this reply. If you could keep to answering the actual question, however, it would really help keep the answer on topic for the original poster. Thanks!

  • Hey Jason, First I would try Moz's SERP analysis tool. Run a report on the page that is ranking, then add the URL of the page that is not ranking, and compare the metrics between the two. Be sure to run a full report. Oftentimes in these cases, it's not on-page optimization that makes the difference, but backlinks, anchor-text, and site architecture that influence a keyword position in search results. So things I would look for in comparing these pages: What are the backlinks (diversity of sites, types of links, etc) Page Authority of each page Anchor text of all incoming links to each page Also, on the other end of the scale you may want to see if any of your pages are actually over-optimized. Too much exact match anchor text? Keyword stuffing? Regardless, hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

  • Just to clarify, you're talking about changing the title tag when you mean site name, and not the URL? Changing the URL (even just capitalization) could have an effect.
