  • Thomas and Chis - thanks so much for such a wide range of tools and options  and such a good run down of what each tool does - this has really given me a lot to go off.

  • Hi! I don't think there are any filters that will help retrieve the keywords, unless there is a filter in play removing this in the first place. causing this. But in addition to linking the AdWords and analytics account, make sure that AdWords as a cost source has been enabled on the profile level (see Admin >Profile Settings > AdWords Import and Export settings) Do you have any data at all in the "Traffic sources > Sources > Search > Paid" report? Or does it all still say (not set)? Perhaps this article (Analytics support) can be of help? Are there any redirects going on that removes the "?gclid=...." appended to your URLs? Hope this helps

  • Probably depends on the type of site/industry you are in. I would use GTMetrix to run my site against my competitors... if my site beats my competitors, then I am in a good spot; however, if my competitors' sites are faster than mine... well... then I better get to work! Here's some information showing how fractions of a second can seriously impact the user experience. Infographic Article And here is Google's resources for speed. Mike

  • Always prefer jquery on other slide shows. You'll get good examples from above link.

  • Campaign Monitor is good, but have always preferred Mailchimp. The industry standard I would say, free up to 2000 subscribers, loads of integration tools available for social and ecommerce setups and great reports and analytics integration.

  • Tuzzell, thanks for the response. i am having trouble understanding how to implement landing pages within the main TLD. Should it be www.domain.com/landingpage1, or www.domain.com/landing/landingpage1, or subdomain landing.aceromart.com what do you recommend, Thanks!

  • Google notes more links because O.S.E. is only taking into account what it measures as the strongest links to your site.  The GWT is looking at a more accurate number of total links.  So the discrepancy in total number of links does not mean that they have been removed.

  • In your response to Chris, you said seeing it from keywords your competitors are using on their page. You also say you are aware of the tools he mentions. SEMRush has a competitors discovery within their campaigns that I find helpful. You will see the organic KWs they have already and you can put in your own. Once you place the competitors in the campaign and any additional keywords, you will see what they are ranking for and how it compares to you. You are not able to simply pull say 50 urls from a site and then 40 from another, as this tool is domain to domain. I would suggest with any of these tools that you have to use them a while to learn the nuances of each. I hope that helps a bit.

  • We switched to using it right after it came out, and we haven't had any issues. The only thing I can think of is possibly some users could have an ad blocker that blocks all requests from doubleclick.net, but doesn't block requests from google-analytics.com?  Those people would be lost. If you're going to use your GA goals and events for remarketing segments you don't currently have set up, I think you'll see a nice return on switching, even if you lose tracking for a rare person here and there.

  • Hi Mark, Thanks for your answer. I'm quite blank when it comes to php, so I guess this might be a good reason to dig into it :). Although the php approach makes it very powerful in terms of dynamic display criteria, I think this could be quite a pain to configure & maintain in case of multiple campaigns with a multitude of (product) pages. I'd like a solution where I can assign certain page elements and site sections to show content in a placeholder based on several campaign criteria, including date, time, geography, referrer, keyword, etc. Running the same campaign on several sites would be even better (we have 18).

  • Trusted Stores, Viewpoints are also on the list.  I have found that TrustPilot has been pretty easy to work with, and their pricing seems to be decent as well. If you are talking about Google automatically populating reviews/ratings that will propagate to your organic and also paid listings, you should also know that: Minimum threshold for automatic seller ratings to show: 30 unique reviews within the last 12 months Average, composite rating of 3.5 or more stars (this is a new change, it used to be 4/5 stars)

  • A very late reply, but just in case anybody else has the same question.... I've been using Tribulants shopping cart. Once you get the kinks worked out it's good. I included SEO tips in my review. The short version is that it is a well featured cart and it's very cheap.

  • I think one of the most important aspects the above answers provided is sharing your helpful content. You can create news items, video tutorials, and slideshows and share them all on your website, but it will also help your SEO if you create different social media profiles and share the content in different areas of the Internet. Whether you use a sub-domain of your existing site or purchase a new blog website, share news items and blog posts through Twitter and Facebook. You can create a YouTube account and share video tutorials on your channel as well as on Facebook. Create an account on SlideShare.net and upload slideshows to your account. Create a LinkedIn account for your business and use it for more professional purposes, such as connecting with your suppliers or merchant account provider. One thing I have heard (and have been trying to implement myself) is that sharing content on Google+ has a significant impact, which makes sense since it is the social media network for the largest search engine site in the world. Another thing to keep in mind is linking all of your social networking profiles to your website and/or blog. Websites like Twitter and Facebook provide you with great tools to reach out to your audience, provide them with opportunities to market your business to their friends and followers, and reach out to customers who may have been unhappy with a purchase (there is nothing like publicly fixing a problem for all to see how wonderful your company is!). I hope this has given you a new perspective on your question at hand. Regards, Meghan

  • Thanks for the great responses. I have decided to do audits by hand and compile results into a Google Doc. I do around 1 a week, it's worth the time. I tried sitebeam.net. it is good for a quick overview but like woorank it doesnt really scratch the surface when it comes to content analysis like What are the title tags and what are the headers.

  • Topsy is really the closest thing I can think of that does this. Although you'd need to put in a keyword, phrase or URL to see results. But they have tons of data from across the web!
