  • No problem!  We had the same spam problem on a form many years ago, and this reduced the spam submissions to zero.  Hopefully it'll work for you too!

  • Hi there, As was already mentioned here, the first one (A) should work ok (that's the updated code given to track a domain and their subdomains). What type of domain structure are you looking to track? Thanks!

  • Try Trakkboard .  It can aggregate analytics and Facebook insights data into one dashboard.

  • Cool, Nicholas, thanks for the resources! Yeah, I think your 3 routes might be a bit of overkill, though I don't think they hurt you. Though I would not block them in robots.txt since this only prevents crawling but not indexing of these URLs. So my advice is to go with step 1 & 2.

  • Hi Reubenb, From your description, it sounds like you are dealing with an accidental merge of the business listings. This is a very common occurrence in the multi-practioner scenario (lawyers, doctors, etc.). As you've already deleted the listing, I can't really offer advice on this, but I would recommend that you visit the Google And Your Business Forum and read up on the subject of 'merged listings'. There are 2 forms of merging, however, and you'll see threads about both types. One is the type of merging I am guessing happened to your listings in which the details of two listings are similar and Google accidentally combines them. The other is the intentional merge of a local and social page to achieve a fully merged listing - this does not concern you, so you can ignore threads about this. Here's the link to the forum: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/business I would also recommend that you look through threads in the Duplicate/Merges section of the Local Search Forum here: http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/google-duplicates-merges/ That should bring you up-to-date on this topic.

  • There isn't really special criteria, you just have to be in Good standing then click the "Allow advertisments to be displayed alongside my videos" icon on https://www.youtube.com/account. Unfortunately there's no way to become a YouTube partner without first accepting ads. YouTube are very unspecific about it, but being a "partner" basically means allowing ads on your channel. It's not as exciting as it sounds, but they're adding more features to make allowing ads more appealing.

  • Hello DHStom, In my experience I'd expect it to be easier to write unique copy for a product than to get reviews for it. With that said, I think reviews on product pages are a good idea either way - though you should rewrite the product descriptions for usability and conversion improvement if nothing else. Try these: http://www.powerreviews.com/ http://www.gigya.com/social-plugins/ratings-reviews/ http://www.pluck.com/ http://www.reevoo.com/ http://www.bazaarvoice.com/

  • I believe if you go to your Facebook page -> Edit Page -> Settings -> Notifications, you should be able to manage your notifications from the page to your email through a checkbox. If you still do not receive any emails from Facebook, you may want to check the notification settings on your own Facebook account.

  • Thanks for the quick response.  I've been reviewing the rules and some incentives are allowed and others are not.  For example, I think you can reward likes but not posts though I'm not yet an expert on what is and is not allowed. I've used several contest apps in the past (e.g. WildFire and SocialAppsHQ).  Would be interested to know if MOZ users have experience with other similar apps or have rolled their own apps. Best, Christopher

  • Hi Hampig, I can't offer legal advice, but I do suggest that you read the whole terms section about promotions, and contact Facebook with questions.

  • Agree with Lesley, one other thing. We moved to using Bootstrap http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/  It was developed by Twitter and is open source for our front end development.  This gives you a bunch of building blocks for putting a page together with "parts" that have been vetted to be as cross browser/platform friendly as possible.

  • It's very easy to set them up. Cost is dependent on how many IPs you use.  How many you need is dependent on how hard you are going to be hitting the search results.  However you can get 5 proxies from someone like trusted proxies for about £20/month. That's probably enough for a small agency running weekly rank checking or a freelancer running daily on a limited number of terms.  It all depends on how many searches you do.

  • What you will want to do is set a custom filter under configuration to look for your specific Google Analytics account profile number and set it as "does not contain". Once you have that custom filter set, run the crawl pointing at your site. Once it is fully complete check out the custom tab and any pages missing your tracking code will be listed. Also, keep in mind, in order to use this functionality you have to have the paid version of the tool. Good Luck! Kyle

  • In my personal opinion, I hate the sharethis or addthis buttons. They look and feel unreal, just like the personalized buttons do. I rather go with the native versions, you can't customize their look, but people are used to them (not to mention sharethis / addthis add their "via [service]" message).

  • "this guy might not be a good client.  In that case refer him to your competitor." ^THIS!! Haha Egol you crack me up. I would do everything these guys are saying. Explain to him EXACTLY what you are going to do. Draw up a plan and provide the intended/potential results. If he wants to do it, great. If he doesn't, great. If you get a month into this and he isn't seeing results (which he probably won't be in that short of time) and this frustrates him, refer him back to the write-up you presented which explained this all carefully. If he wants to fire you, refer him to your competitors. Damn I love that.
