Tips For Writing A Mission Statement?
It's great to be at the beginning with a blank slate! Here are a few ideas for you: Use the mission statement to explain in broad terms what need you are going to fill. Don't be too specific - your strategy may change. If you don't think that you could show someone the same mission statement in 10 years and still be relevant to your company, you're too specific. Think big. You should be able to hand your mission statement to someone who has never heard of your company and he should be able to see what type of company you plan to be and why you want to be in business.

SEOMOZ .org?
I agree. I've been around less than a month watching webinars/seminars and I already feel like my mind is in a much better place for IM/SEO. @Rand The free first month definitely hooked me in.

Looking for examples of a B2B brand spinning off B2C products on to separate websites
Are you looking for people who have separated B2B and B2C on public websites? The only example I can think of is ExOfficio (used to work for them), but their public sites always been B2C and they've had different 3rd party solutions for B2B orders.

Dropped for high traffic keyword, and spammers are winning the battle.
What people call a developer these days, is someone who can configure a CMS. Dont be limited by the developers short commings. Get someone who can make things by hand. then you will not get cornered in

Start SEO for new domain with no rank
From my experience, I would start to create and add some valued content on your site. Register a Twitter/Facebook account relating to your website, and post any site updates/new pages via these two channels. In addition, create a sitemap (keep it up to date), and submit via the Google Webmaster Tools console. Your site will soon become indexed in Google. Your next step and more harder step is to gain valuable links to your site. Regarding the targeting of long tail keywords, since this is much easier - this is something I'd suggest you try first. Good luck !

Branding/Domain Challenge
Thank you your insights and advice. Now that I know the direction my business is growing, there are three changes I want to make for my business site: Change the hosting from GoDaddy to Bluehost - do you agree? Replace my Wordpress theme from Thesis to the new Headway Themes 3.0 (so site can grow w/o me learning or hiring a coder) and of course changing the current domain to www.ImpactMMAfitness.com - Thank you for your help with this! In which order or combination should I proceed with these steps? Sincerely, Steve

How to promote an article
Might be worth putting your article on MyBlogGuest.com. The quality of the websites on MyBlogGuest are pretty poor, but it still might be worth your time depending on how much time and money you invested into the article.

Embracing Piracy...
Alan, I think you misunderstand the situation, they don't seem to be stealing content, but actual products. You could try the approach you suggested, but be ready to be 'ripped apart' by a mostly malicious community on this kind of pages. They usually do not take lightly to outsiders. If you want to stop piracy, I assume contacting the admins for removal and filing DMCA claims would be the way to go.

Is it a bad idea to have a catchy brand name url redirect to an exact match domain
Hi Daniel An interesting question. widg.et ~ I can see why this was chosen, spells 'widget' stating the obvious. However in terms of search, it doesn't work like that, the keyword in the domain is 'widg' the top-level-domain isn't included. 'widg' isn't a word as far as I know, so not particularly helpful for Search or Usability as it does take a second look to figure out what it's supposed to say. Exact Match domain names don't carry as much SEO weight as they used to, especially with regards to Google. Better off concentrating on getting the URL naming structure right, plus the Titles, Descriptions, H1 tags and the anchor text in some great inbound links. If the website has become known as 'Share Widgets' (as in www.sharewidgets.com) then may as well stick with this rather than confusing existing followers & visitors with another change. So out of all the options you're considering, I'd recommend going for No. 3, keep the current domain name and focus on optimizing that both on-page and off-page. Hope that helps, Regards Simon

Web Strategy Conundrum
Thank you both for your thoughts... I am all for helping out my printing partners. We have developed an extensive website with very solid product info. That's been our strength - and what drives a lot of long tail traffic for us. My main fear is that if I simply post their addresses as OUR production facilities (which they are) I might in some way confuse the customer. Worse yet, have them of the mind that we are somehow trying to greenwash our business. I would like to be transparent without confusing the customers. Again, I'm happy to mention their names in support of this, just not sure the best way to do it. Thanks again.... would love to hear more thoughts. Peter

Any ideas on how to leverage celebrity spottings for SEO?
1. Keyword research - [celebrity name + fashion] or [celebrity name + clothes] in adwords tool (set to exact match). See screenshot. 2. Choose what phrase to optimize for to help guide content. Try to create content with a viral / social media hook to it. Obviously include the photos, but also maybe you could crowdsource comments on the pictures from your twitter followers or email list first. Try to find people that have a good social following. Give them a 'sneak peak' at the photo, gather their comments. Or, find a fashion critic to give it a glowing review/write guest commentary. 3. Make sure the article is on-page optimized for the chosen keyword 4. Then when you release the article, the people you collected comments from will share it in their social networks, helping to get it indexed and noticed right away giving it a social boost. 5. Build a few links to the page... The search volumes are relatively long-tail it seems for this sort of thing, but if you find the right phrase, it could be highly transactional. Someone searching for "brad pitt fashion" may in fact be highly interested in purchasing something that he has in fact worn. The trick is in finding the right keywords. Don't just throw up an article and see what happens. A little bit of planning to it up front could be a huge win. Good luck!! -Dan 0H5Jbe4DfBQc

About domain names
Buying a aged domain name has numerous problems, not least of which is that if the domain registration information changes and then shortly after the site is up, but completely different to what it had been in the past, Google may wipe any ranking clean and consider it a new site with a new owner. You'll still benefit from any existing inbound links, but it's worth bearing in mind.
