  • One thing to try is to buy the domain (if it's only a few bucks), put up some Lorem Ipsum text, then ask any friends with computers that have family filters to see if they can see the site. You'd at least know if it's being banned via the URL in that case. The URL for my site is strikemodels.com, and at least one Air Force base firewall doesn't like having "models" in the URL, but I haven't heard of any other problems with it. My content is about model warships, not any types of human models that might set of filters in that respect.

  • I consider a site is  passing the "I'm brand" level when google will display site links. That' susualy based on incoming links - authority overall. So in my personal opinion to get there you need a few powerful, " patient zero " links (very very high authority sites that will link to you - in that category I also include facebook.com, linkedin, twitter and digg - that's a good place to start). You also need several additional niche related strong links in order to "qualify". That is my personal view on the brand signal thingy. Hope it helps.

  • Thanks very much for your thoughts Lewis. The risk you were talking about are the ones which let me doubt to go through with this or not. right now our website url is www.mantarayatravel.com and i would like to switch to just mantaraya.travel as colombia.travel is doing. I dont have any evidence why google should give more weight to a .travel domain i assume that .travel sites within the travel category might get more weight, its just a personal assumptions.. Mantaraya.travel is shorter and can be seen seperated in "mantaraya" and "travel" and so easier to be remembered. As well its an assumptions. But your point regarding .com sites more or less convinced me and now before high season i dont wont to risk a downfall of the search volumen. I then only dont know why companies even buy .travel domains or industry specific domains if .com or country specific TLD are the best choice. But this is another question.

  • One thing to keep in mind here is the amount of work required to manage a Twitter channel well. To keep a single channel fresh takes a lot of time. Trying to keep seven channels fresh (the six characters + the channel for the series) is going to be a ton of work. The last thing you want is for your social media channels to reflect poorly on the series. Social media channels that go dormant due to lack of resources never reflect well on a brand. That being said, would it make more sense to roll all the characters under the nakedinfishbowl account? If you choose to move forward with Twitter accounts for every character, I think I would opt for [CHARACTER NAME]_Fishbowl or [CHARACTER NAME]Fishbowl (Bonnie_Fishbowl or BonnieFishbowl, for example). Here is my reasoning: NIAF is already owned and somewhat branded. You probably don't want people appending @NIAF to posts about your series. [CHARACTER NAME]_Fishbowl or [CHARACTER NAME]Fishbowl is easy to remember. Good luck! This is a tricky one...

  • Hi Rishad, Regarding the should you, I would look at me analytics and see how many mobile platforms are accessing your site and which ones. Mobile apps should not be just a rehashed version of the web page. It should be unique and much better than the web version. You need to find out why people are accessing your site on mobile platforms. Convenience, travel, or platform of choice? I would survey those mobile visitors with 3-5 simple question about mobile content. I would not see any need of SEO on an application, just like there is none for your desktop apps. Mobile apps are more concerned with ease of use, content access (is it localized or in the cloud). I will revisit this post to hear what others say on finding a good mobile programmer. I am looking for one for iOS work for a client. Cheers
