  • Hi Miriam, Thanks for your response. I didn't know it was typical. Someone told me that we had a duplicate Google+ page and I was trying desperately to remove it and couldn't find a way. But if it's normal, I will just leave it. Thanks

  • Hello I got the same issue. In our case we did a page by subsidiary in Google page entreprise and one for the main group in google page. It's not the best but anyway it's working fine.

  • I can't answer all of your questions, but I do have some thoughts. I ran a test campaign like this a while back with a good bit of success. Couple of suggestions: I didn't ask for positive reviews, just honest ones. I made it clear that the discount was for the short amount of time it takes to post, like or review not for the actual post, like or review itself (minor difference, but anyway). Also, keep track of those who complete your requests! I was very careful with this as these people would likely be the same ones to respond to other campaigns, but only if they knew I'd follow through with my end of the "bargain."

  • Thanks Ruhul "Some areas don't pop 7 packs at all for the same keywords." I think it's mainly based on search volume. I can give you lots of examples but here's a good one. I was consulting for an SEO I trained that was working for a roofing client. I told him he was wasting one of the Places categories because that key phrase didn't even pull a pack. He said "I learned well from your training and I KNOW I checked to be sure it pulled a pack! Turns out that was 3 months ago when he set up the listing. Also turns out that was the rainy season. So in that small town there were enough searches for that type of roof repair, but when the rain stopped that search volume dried up too! So if your KWs are a little nichey for local OR competition is low OR you are dealing with fairly small towns, that could be why. A good KW to test with is Sedation Dentistry, in larger cities it will pull a pack. In some smaller ones  - no pack. Re: my AOL trick.  Did you see Dr. Pete's post today? http://moz.com/blog/how-does-google-count-local-results I think my AOL trick is easier and I like StartPage even better for some things. But he found a way to pull pure organic with a Google search parameter - which is pretty cool. I need to find time to test and compare with my method this weekend but I think it's pulling the same results for all 3.

  • Hey Kevin, I can confirm that the page does pull up in the Facebook directory but when doing a URL search in Google, the page still does not pull up!  There are no Country nor Age Restrictions on the page. It appears that DishCostsLess is not the 'name' on neither the Facebook nor your Google +.  Perhaps changing the name to "DISH TV by DishCostsLess" would help.

  • I guess enough pestering and persistence with Google Map Maker pays off. I received an email notifying us that they would migrate the reviews to a new Google Plus profile that we can actually manage and own. Score!

  • In my experience, a baseline number of shares is completely reliant on the content being shared. The type of content is also indicative of the network it will be shared on. For example: We get more shares from Linkedin when we produce "professional" content. We get more Facebook shares when we share time wasting content. Sorry I could not be more specific. I would be happy to help if you are more specific about your brand/ target market.

  • I hear you.  There are some decent tools out there but for the most part, spending your time on the tried and true ones tends to be the best use of your time and your client's money.  Short cuts are paying off less and less.

  • Hi ocelot, There is a tool called Klout which may be what you are looking for. Available as a Chrome or Firefox extension or a stand-alone site, Klout uses data from Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to determine your overall social media influence. Statistics covered include amplification probability (how likely your message will be retweeted or replied to), the size of your network and your true reach. “True reach” takes into account the amount of interaction received per post. You may not be able to find the absolute most influential Facebook users at there, but you will at least be able to better quantify your own influence.

  • Hi Carla, yes it's possible to merge Pages that represent the same thing and have similar names, so in this case it looks like it should be no problem at all... Make sure you're using Facebook as yourself and not as your Page. Go to the Page you want to keep. From the top of your Page, click Edit Page [image: 292683644115653_1394494539.gif] Select Edit Settings Select Merge Pages and click Merge duplicate Pages Fill out the form and click Send https://www.facebook.com/help/249601088403018/

  • That's totally optional - but if you want actual users to be able to see your Google+ page, then yes it's definitely a good idea to keep the icon.  So I'd definitely include both. One does not require the other, however, in order to implement the rel=publisher code - so if you ever need to remove the icon, you can do so without any problems.

  • I publish long articles.  It works best for me. If the three articles that you are thinking about are tightly clustered in keyword space then one article is definitely the way to go.  However, if the three articles have a wide spread in keyword space, each with good volume, then three articles could perform better.... but in that case I would write nine short articles tightly clustered around three keywords and publish them as three long articles that go deep and wide around the central keyword.

  • That might work. The way our tracking links are setup, it's domain.com?ref=1111&goto=/this/path then it redirects the user with a 302 to domain.com/this/path Would changing it to a 301 be damaging because it includes the referral link and isn't a natural backlink?

  • Moz is no longer maintaining the directory project, but it will be relaunched by a third party in the near future. We'll update that post when it's relaunched.

  • Thank you for your responce. Can you stimulate people on clicking on it? Or do they have to do it vai the website? I will try it out anyway, to see if it works.

  • At least in their API their seems to be no limit to favorite a certain number of tweets. Also I've never heard anybody argue that they couldn't favorite anymore tweets.
