  • Hi Luke, No there is no logical reason to not use 301 redirect and even I would say it is a terrible mistake that will affect site very badly. In fact if we don't use 301 redirect site will loose ranking /traffice/ link juice. Hope this helps!! Thanks

  • I would definitely make sure you have canonical URLs set up so both www and naked URLs are not considered duplicate content.

  • Charlesfitz, You've done an impressive load of research. Here are a few other items to consider: 464 pages had a connection refused (0) status code. Here are some examples: /collections/nude-mesh-dress/products/so-sexy-see-through-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/bandage-dresses/products/navy-blue-cap-sleeve-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/mermaid-midi-dress/products/mermaid-bodycon-bandage-strapless-sheath-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/sexy-birthday-dress/products/celebrity-bandage-pink-v-neck-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/whats-new/products/rio-rose-gold-two-piece-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/whats-new/products/bandage-black-strapless-pencil-dress 0 Connection Refused /products/spaghetti-strap-lace-dress 0 Connection Refused /products/hot-celebrity-black-and-grey-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/whats-new/products/two-piece-lace-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /sexy-black-dresses/products/black-bandage-spaghetti-strap-midi-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/one-shoulder-dress/products/one-shoulder-gold-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused /collections/white-bandage-dresses/products/white-elegant-strap-bandage-dress 0 Connection Refused You have roughly 45% of your HTML pages returning a 430 status code. I have no idea what that is but it might be impeding your indexing. You have 80 temporary redirects in place for HTTP to HTTPS files. That's not likely the explanation, but should be fixed. You have a lot of duplicate title and H1 tags. That might result in the wrong pages getting ranked, and by wrong I mean the pages that aren't ideally optimized for your keyword phrase or targeted for SEO equity accumulation. There are 13 404 (page not found) status codes. You also have some perhaps unintentionally noindexed pages, for example, /blogs/news/top-10-new-york-fashion-bloggers, /collections/gold-bandage-dresses and /collections/white-swimwear. (It might also be intentional as I notice you can't manually navigate to white swimwear on the site.) I found these by scanning the site using Screamingfrog.

  • ...Does this mean that people clicking on the post from SERPs then quickly visiting the site to download the font as there are only 6 fonts featured in the post to download (due to six font they are not spending time)? -> Looks like. I would measure the clicks on the download links and calculate a conversion rate. To know how good the convert, i.e. perform the action you want them to do.

  • There could be multiple reasons for a drop if it is only a small few place drop it could be a competitor has been active recently and forced your to drop or maybe the search engine naturally reshuffling the order. For a larger drop, it could be a blip... don't make a knee jerk reaction and make lots of changes which could make things worse. Give it a few days to see if you bounce back. If you find you do not return to your usual ranking placement, then this could be caused by a larger algorithmic change. I would suggest you track how much you change for specific terms and which pages rank. Also as per Egol has another page replaced your current product - e.g duplicates etc. or has another site caused some sort of content cannibalisation by borrowing your content and replacing you.

  • Hi Obi Yes - a rather annoying new feature of MOZ which says that a noindex is an error when it clearly isn't. You have done exactly the right thing to avoid a ton of duplicate content. Just ignore the warnings. I can understand the ethos - but are you going to go through thousands of tags and canonicalise them? no, me neither. I have seen huge success no indexing tags on massive websites. It instantly sorts out the problem and frankly I never even click on tags - they just take up space in Google for no reason. Regards Nigel

  • Taysir, I imagine that you received this message (added message so if someone is searching able to find this thread): Starting October 2017, Chrome (version 62) will show a “NOT SECURE” warning when users enter text in a form on an HTTP page, and for all HTTP pages in Incognito mode. The following URLs on your site include text input fields (such as < input type="text" > or < input type="email" >) that will trigger the new Chrome warning. Review these examples to see where these warnings will appear, so that you can take action to help protect users’ data. This list is not exhaustive. Gaston links and suggestion are great. This is a pain, but it's for the best. Good luck on the migration.

  • Hi Adam, Based on what you have said here, it sounds as if these links are harmful and could be disavowed. A few things to look for: Are you the target of harmful/negative SEO? This is my first thought on account of your loss of #1 rankings and the upsurge in spammy leads - it's not as common as it used to be, but negative SEO still exists and some folks would rather go that route rather than try to outrank you naturally. Some clues might lie in when the links were created (how close to one another) and whether they come from an established PBN (look at hosting cues). If sites linking to your site are showing C-Class hosting then you may be the target of negative SEO and should disavow. Have you changed anything on the site that would lead to the drop? You mentioned you haven't done any link building, but you were continuing with a content strategy. Has anything on the site changed with respect to architecture, pathways, etc.? Check for a manual penalty I assume you have checked your Search Console for notifications of a penalty. If not, do that. How long has this been going on? It's not abnormal for rankings to adjust for a few days while SERP's are being compiled. If this has been going on for less than a week, I would give it some more time before you start making significant changes. My wait period is about 14 days before I start worrying. Local SEO Factors Are you seeing decreases in rankings across the board, or is it for a specific geographical area? If general decreases, you are probably looking at a disavow. If localized drops, then it may just be a case of local SEO factors acting against you. TL:DR You can disavow, but if those links are actually helping you then you can't retract your request and you'll have lost them forever. Make sure it's actually the links causing the harm before you go that route. Disavow should be your last choice. Feel free to follow up - always happy to help! Cheers, Rob

  • My friend, there is no limit on how many backlinks you can get from a website, but its really important on what website you are putting links, websites with high PA DA will boost your page rank where as , if PA DA is not good it will not be beneficial to your website. There is no such exact number. But i want to make you clear about something important. Google gives more importance to the sites which had links from more number of quality root domains than number of links from a single quality site.

  • Hi, There are numerous things you can do to improve organic ranking factor on a page-by-page basis. From a quick look at the page, I can suggest to action points that should help with organic ranking and CTR. Page Titles: Page titles should include keywords relevant to the content of the page, try not to use generic 'buzzwords' across all the pages (e.g 'Free Shipping' and 'Best Prices') and keep the page titles within Google Guidelines (50-60 Characters). This is the clickable link that is displayed within the Google search results and can be seen as the most important part, to entice CTR. Meta Descriptions: If meta descriptions are un-optimised, Google will typically pull content directly from the page and ignore the one provided. With the page you provided the meta description length is 276 characters long, Google Guidelines state meta descriptions should be no longer than 160 characters. I would look to update these across all pages that you wish to increase organic traffic for, which should help the ranking factors organically. Here is an article on technical SEO that may help you with other factors: http://searchengineland.com/definitive-seo-audit-part-1-3-technical-250541 Hope this helps, Thanks,

  • Thanks for the response. I don't think this would be possible since owing to domain suspension (serverHOLD), the DNS is no longer getting resolved. And my domain is now showing "unverified" status in Google Search Console and owing to domain suspension I can't verify it via Google Analytics or any of the CNAME, TXT Record or HTML tags method.

  • Yes I would recommend moving to https over  the curent http it will be very unlikely that you have an issue with google and  The end-users will feel much more secure. If you are doing this on a bespoke site ( not very common CMS or made by hand) I know tools like  letsencrypt.com give you a free certificate so will CloudFlare.com  so if you're trying to have HTTP/2 , HSTS, forced https & a cert you can use for free version and it will do everything you need for https cost  (free-$5,000) (any reverse proxy CDN or WAF) stackpath.com ($20)  incapsula.com ($59) sucuri.net WAF ($19) Armor.com ($600-7,000) WAF only (under $200) Speedyrails.com has always had deals on cloudflare (35-40% off) if you're going to use it. if you use a EV cert or just want to have a regular certificate I strongly recommend looking at third-party sites you can save a lot of money. I like  DigiCert and GlobalSign  personal most of the others are on the Symantec what was VERISIGN you can definitely get away with getting one for $5-100 on namecheap  but remember to search for the best price on Google. They tend to make the job a lot easier and  my personal opinion is that every person should actually do have WAF for their sites they like.

  • "I have the option of choosing either www.example.com or example.com, but no option for https://www.example.com or https://example.com." Go in to the https & pick the same format use what ever your site retain the www. if you had it drop it if you did not. "I have Search Console verified for both HTTP and https pages" On the Search Console Home page, click the site you want. Click the gear icon, and then click Site Settings. In the Preferred domain section, select the option you want. Nice! So you have 4 URLs? pick the same format as you had but from # 3 or 4 below. HTTP:// HTTP://www. HTTPS://  if you did NOT have www use this HTTPS://www.   if you had www use this ** The to do list. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6332964** https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XB26X_wFoBBlQEqecj7HB79hQ7DTLIPo97SS5irwsK8/edit?usp=sharing **Next, ** Make certain that you force https:// on your hosting environment or WAF/CDN **Check it using a **Redirect mapper https://varvy.com/tools/redirects/ If you get lost and need to fix something https://online.marketing/guide/https/ https://www.deepcrawl.com/blog/news/2017-seo-tips-move-to-https/ Add HSTS once everything is definitely working. Make sure everything is working correctly before Google crawls it use https://www.deepcrawl.com or https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/ all the best, Tom

  • Hi there, What SERP results you get depends on your search queries. If you search for a niche category of your products and you see your results, naturally you will see the URL where these products sit. So it is the exact URL of the result. Potential benefits: You see the search term a few times which might look appealing and increase CTR's You can easily run research on competitors and see how they organise their sitemap or in which category they place a particular product Potentially it can be more eye-catching as it takes more space than a short URL. I hope this helps. Katarina
