Why Google isn't indexing my images?
Hi Toby, A couple of months ago, I switched my site over to SquareSpace and had the same problem: Google was able to index my pages, but was not indexing my images. I contacted SquareSpace Help about this and here is their answer: "I've spoken to our advanced testing team and we believe that your images are indeed being indexed, although they are not being linked to your site within Google Search Console. However, they are being linked to your site in Google Search results. I'll explain why we believe this below: The reason for this is that Squarespace images are on a CDN which has a separate URL (static.squarespace.com). While Google can find, index, and correctly associate the images with your site, they can't report this information back to your via Google Search Console as you are not a verified owner on eitherstatic.squarespace.com or static1.squarespace.com (the URLs on which the images are stored). As long as images are being indexed and associated with your domain, there's no issue or cause for concern. I have done some digging and on my end can see that your images are being indexed and associated with your site correctly." Hope that answers your question. I would be interested to know if you are still using SquareSpace for your website and how you're doing with SEO, as I have encountered a number of problems, especially around meta-titles and meta-descriptions. Thanks, Monica

How does one submit data to the Knowledge Graph?
That's true. This compiler is very reputable as well, but it's in a not super popular niche, so bloggers aren't going to be writing about it a ton. It's reputable, but undiscovered. From my understanding, Google would like all sorts of reputable information for the KG. The question is, with things that aren't as popular, how does one achieve this? Thanks.

Google not Indexing images on CDN.
Hey Dan, Thanks for your concerns. The reason for that is because of the image headers. We display different images depending of the resolution of the user visiting the website. So because of this, the image is downloaded automatically rather than being displayed. I researched on this and this shouldn't be a problem in terms of Image SEO. As for the images and watermarking. That is a business decision.

Looking for SEO Help- Magento Temporary Redirects
Did anyone ever come up with an answer? The site is set for 301 Redirects but Moz show hundreds of 302s.. mostly Wishlist and compare related (Magento version 1.9.2)

301 redirect to search results page?
So I would recommend you mod_rewrite to a SEO friendly search page for your docs results. e.g. newsites.com/resources/search/technical-documents/ and redirect to that If not possible, I would still simply redirect to the search results page. Users want to see those docs so redirecting them anywhere else will just cause them to bounce.

Start a new site to get out of Google penalties?
Thanks for the response Andy! That makes perfect sense. Does anyone else have any other opinions or info?

Google webmaster reports non-existent links between syndicated sites
It looks like the pages that you're referencing in the Webmaster Forums post do have some indexed duplicate content on them. It may be that Google is trying to figure out which version of the page is the canonical version, and then reporting all the duplicates as links back to the page that they deem the "original" page. I don't know why they would report this as a "link" when it clearly isn't a link in the traditional sense, but link reports in Search Console often contain some weird stuff that isn't really links. What's clear is that Google understands that these pages are related, which makes sense since it's the same content, on pages with very similar design - the two subdomains are even using the same Google Analytics account. My assumption would be that the "links" are a byproduct of Google trying to figure out which of these pages are the duplicates and which should be treated as the original. It may be that this is nothing to worry about - if you're happy with the pages' performance, I doubt you will see these "links" coming through anywhere besides Google Search Console. If you do want to keep the client sites more separate, I would recommend separating them out into their own Google Analytics accounts at the very least.

Would a mass data update have a negative effect on SEO?
I totally agree that is scary, but then again safe. But if I were in your shoes, I would make the change over a period of some time. As you are actually making the changes, which am guessing takes some time, you can at the same time uploading them so that Google views this effort as it is, an effort, and not a one day thing. but on the other hand, you are not doing something wrong, just remember not to over-optimise!

URL structure for SEO
Why not: www.website.com/news/news-and advice-story-1 (with internal linking to relevant product page) www.website.com/news/news-and advice-story-2 (with internal linking to relevant product page) Or is there a need to have product-category in the path for some reason? Can a product be in more than one category? How are you handling that?

Content very similar on different websites
What could also help is to ensure that you host the domains on different servers and have more unique content where possible. Itenaries would be the same but I am sure you could re-write the activies. Also the main pages of the website, the pages which you are relying for ranking on popular keywords ensure that the content is unique. If one of the two websites is more valuable in SEO prospective then take that love first, ensure that the Search Engines pick it up, before taking the other live. additional points in order to stay seperate: have google analytics and web master tools on different accounts for each website.

Old sitemaps after site migration.
It should be fine, but if you want to be certain, check the info:sitea.com query in Google for a random selection of URLs from sitea.com so that you can make sure they are all properly indexed now as Site B.

How does this company rank this page?
Basically the domain: http://buy.gazelle.com/ has following: DOMAIN AUTHORITY 66 /100 PAGE AUTHORITY 48 /100 Is not just another random website, since it has many links and especially links from Iphone related pages, e.g.: http://www.cnet.com/news/apple-watch-trade-ins-coming-soon-says-swap-site-gazelle/ which the above has 52 DA (Page Authority) Now as to the question about the the zero content, is not that much of a zero if you look at the customer comments. You basically don't expect much of a content from such a topic. So what customers say matters more than information about the product, which as you said above other pages on the website have such information. What Google views in this page, is that this a URL near the home page (1 step away), which it values this page more than the rest of the pages. It may also view that the website has a lot of information regarding the Iphone, thus making it authority for this topic. Also the most important thing is that it has links to this specific page from many pages of this websites, although not appearing in MOZ Open Site Explorer at the moment. Also the competitors ranking for this keyword, have a different meta-title, thus having lower chances of ranking above http://buy.gazelle.com/buy-used-iphone-5/

22 Pages 7 Indexed
To add to what Nicolas said, Search Console data tends to lag a a few days. I did a site:theinboundspot.com search for your site and found that 120 pages are indexed. I took a quick look and didn't see anything of concern. Give it a couple days and check back on it.

Inner pages not ranking well
It doesn't sound like a penalty problem at all, otherwise you'd see more of your pages impacted. You're saying you've done internal links to them - but only mention footer links. Have you also put internal links in your texts, pointing to these pages) I honestly don't put much value on footerlinks, as they're not part of the main content on a page. From my experience these don't really add much compared to links in the main content (the category/product descriptions or whatever text you have on there). I would focus on a few of the deeper pages and give them some internal links from your stronger pages to see if you can boost their authority.

How to avoid adult traffic to site?
Yes, for different pages with older content we have recommended to hide them from Google. This specific page, however, could is highly relevant to their audience and we want their audience to be able to find it so we don't just want to hide it. We have looked for solutions on the help forum but haven't found anything relevant to this issue. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell Google that our website is safe to avoid this problem in general? Or is it just a matter of finding other relevant keywords and synonyms that are currently not being used to see if that will help Google better understand the topic of this page? Or could there be another problem that we're missing?

P.O Box VS. Actual Address
Hi Anton, If yours is a local business serving local customers in person, then, yes, a P.O. box will severely limit your local search marketing. Because P.O. boxes are not considered legitimate physical addresses, you'll be unable to build a full set of citations for the business, and that will likely hamper your local search ranking efforts. Definitely better to use an actual address! Hope this helps.
