  • Be sure to consider the PRO tools here on MOZ too - Not only does it give you the times the KW is searched but it list the top 10 competitors - with a very thorough analylsis of them all. Killer tool - and just one of many when becoming PRO. Geeze, listen to me, like I work for them or something ;o) Your pal Chenzo

  • Hi Andi To go off of what Nikele said, you can also use the SEOMoz keyword difficulty tool to gauge a little more about the competition.  I personally like this better than the Adwords Keyword tool since they only measure difficulty in high-medium-low.

  • Hey there! The keywords you enter into SEOmoz are the words and phrases you'd like to track your rankings for on the various search engines. You'll ideally want to include them in your page in some fashion. I would suggest you run a few custom On-Page report cards for your sites. That will show you a break down of how well your page is optimized for your keywords and help you avoid keyword stuffing. Cheers, Joel.

  • Your copywriter's first priority should be writing content that converts. That means it needs to be informative, appealing, full of benefits, all that good stuff. That's the hard part. Including a few keyword variations is the easy part.

  • I'm very much interested in this question as well. Someone told me that small words such as 'in' are stop words and as such ignored by Google and that [painters texas] would be the same as [painters in texas]. But in that case, why does Google's keyword tool give such different exact results for these 2 phrases? Anyone else got any input on this? Thanks

  • A good question. I know how to split the local traffic up to see what month's are receiving the most search volume but I'm not sure about geographically.

  • The short answer is no, there is no issue with targeting the keywords on each site but you will have to put twice the work in... A better option would be to use the same site and build more domain authority to that site and target some different keywords to increase traffic. Or are you trying to appear on the first SERP page multiple times using different domains?

  • I think Google automatically learns from the way people link to certain words, surrounding text, linking site's anchor text and surrounding text and so on. Think Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Optimisation and so on. So yes, I would say they learn things. I have seen rankings for Wholesale keywords coming in without using wholesale anywhere. Same thing for Discount/Cheap and so on. I hope that helps.

  • I wouldn't go jumping into paying people to do lots of the same search. Check out the link Broadbeach Media supplied below, it explains in more detail about search suggest but also check out the Q&A's, some good additional points there about the searches coming from the same IP address as well as location.

  • Thanks Very much, I was not 100% sure as this new traffic spike is new to me, in the past i was relying on ppc and just very minor organic traffic. It seems as though the spike started after BOTW added my link? Im not sure if that is directly the cause? I have been optimizing now for quite some time, individual pages, blogs, PR's, Social. Its unbelievable actually just how much work goes into it!

  • No - you haven't blocked visitors from other countries - you've just given an indicator to Google that your site is relevant for visitors from a particular country. If you have a site geared towards people living in the UK, you tell Google that this site is relevant for people in the UK. This will tell them the site should show up in UK searches or about a particular topic relating to the UK, but for a similar query in the US, the site is not relevant. You haven't blocked users from other countries so much as you've told the search engine this site should be shown for users from this country. If you're targeted a language based demographic, like Arabic speakers, you wouldn't use the geotargeting tool, because you want arabic speakers from multiple countries. That's how the tool works. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
