Spell Check Bot / Crawler
CheckDog will do 100 pages of spell checking for free http://checkdog.com/.Don't know of any place that does grammar checking. I wonder if there are any mechanical turk third party providers that do that? In my case, I run a forum with thousands of pages of user generated content. I can't afford the spell checking services for that amount of content, and I'm OK with leaving things in the user's original voice. What I did do was go into Google Analytics and export my top content by page title, 500 titles at a time. I copied and pasted the spreadsheet column with the titles into Word, and found the spelling errors in the titles of the posts. I went back and corrected those.

Short blog post or Long Blog post, Which works better?
Im with Goldilocks on this one. A blog post should not be too long, nor too short. It should be just right. And as Moosa says, it should contain images and a touch of humour always breaks the monotony too.

Removing and resubmitting an article to another blog
I wouldn't worry about it. The second site that posts it might not get as much benefit from it (that's speculation on my part), but I don't see any reason to suspect it would cause issues for you.

How Many Words are Enough?
pages with less than 250 words per page (and a lot of pages like that) are considered low quality sites and have a good chance of getting hit by panda.

Duplicate Text on Blog & Internal News Page
Hi, I think the one to be copied to the other may have existing indexing in Google, so in general speaking it should have better ranking already but depends on domain weight too...i think if possible, you'd better not to 100% do copy & paste because this could cause duplicate contents cross the different domains, they are competitor pages to Google, as google doesn't know they are belonging to same company. therefore, it could cause some ranking up and down, but i think it;s minimal.. my suggestion is: from seo perspective, choose which domain or page is more important to you, focus on that domain./pages on content creation and link building...or.. if you have time and energy, you could do different contents each time which i think is not realistic..thanks Boson

Posts vs Pages and Rankings Differ Greatly
Lots of my news posts were announcements of a much more detailed article that was posted on a "page" of my site. Because my blog got eight to ten posts per day the post pages would be quickly buried deep in the blog. The article pages were evergreen content. So, I would redirect those posts to the article page. I thought that it helped rankings. I don't consider it blackhat because the newsy nature of the posts made them of "temporary value". We deleted and redirected thousands of post per year.

Rand's presentation from the AMA webinar on March 27th, 2012
Hi Miranda - I'm not sure whether the AMA made a recording of the webinar available. I checked out their site and couldn't find it, so it's possible they may not be making it public (or didn't record). You could try emailing the folks over there - alibb@ama.org was my contact. Best of luck!

Hosted eCommerce with Outstanding Content Management
So I've heard. And I don't believe it's generally a hosted solution - don't you have to host Magento yourself?

Handling duplicate content in Blogs
Yes, as boomajoom says. I did that a year ago to a blog and it stopped google showing the front page in results rather than the individual pages. In addition, it gets you an extra pageview, lowers the bounce rate. It proves the reader really wanted to read the full page

Does a directory running on a subdomain help or hurt SEO on the main site?
Is the directory related to the theme of the site? So for instance, if you have a site that covers Facebook business marketing and you add a directory of consultants who offer Facebook marketing help, then you're sticking to the overall theme. Likewise if the theme of the site is community journalism, separate subdomains that cover (or are directories) a variety of topics stick to the overall theme. So assuming your idea is a benefit to your site users, a directory will help your SEO because inbound links will contribute to the overall root domain authority and outbound links will establish yourself as a trusted hub of information.

What are tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 keywords (pages)?
In addition to Vahe's suggestion, it's possible the terms being used refer to what is also frequently referred to as "the long tail" of search. Tier 1 or "head" terms are search terms with both extremely high search volume and very high competition Tier 2 or "body" terms have lower search volume and competition, and tier 3 or "long tail" terms are those which are so specific they are searched much less frequently, but also there are considerably fewer sites competing for their traffic. Example: tier 1 head term - "SEO" tier 2 body term - "ecommerce SEO specialist" tier 3 long tail term - "SEO specialist for WordPress in Seattle" Note it's not just the # of words in the term that determine it's tier, though usually longer terms will be located farther down. It's more the search volume and amount of competition that determines the classification. There's lots of info on the long tail of search here at SEOMoz and the web in general if you want to get a deeper understanding of it's value. Paul
