Thanks for the link, but this happened radically and exactly two weeks ago.

One of the clients I manage has over 5,000 Facebook fans. Whenever I'd make a post, it usually would get ~700-1,000 impressions.

About two weeks ago I did my first promoted post. Ever since then, all the regular posts I've done have only gotten ~100 impressions . . . out of 5,325!

I'm wondering if Facebook, once learning that you are willing to pay for promoted posts, secretly lowers your impression count so that you will pay for promoted posts more often, or if the timing of my promoted post was just a coincidence, and everyone started to see a decrease about two weeks ago.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Are you using a CMS for your site? Some of them have a setting that will automatically make all the links absolute.

I think the toolbar only works for Firefox and Chrome. As far as workarounds, I don't know.

I would strongly advise against this. I looked at your site, and those are all very important navigation links. It's rumored that Google only crawls the first 100 links on a page, so that's why SEOmoz returns that warning. It's not something you need to be overly worried about, especially if your site is user-friendly and logically laid out, and if your links are relevant, all of which seem to be the case on your site.

You can't force it to crawl more frequently. If they start a manual crawl for you, it will take a couple days, not a week.

Seriously, that's exactly what happened to me once. Roger starts its crawl from the homepage and then goes deeper. Sometimes he malfunctions. If you email help, they can start another manual crawl for you.

That happened to me a few months ago and it turned out to be an issue with SEOmoz, not with my site. This is something you should email the help desk about.

I'm not sure from your question how much previous knowledge you have about site migrations and 301 redirects, so forgive me if I'm either being too basic or too advanced.

I would do things in the following order and all on the same day.

1. Publish the content from site two onto site one.
2. Set up 301 redirects from site two to site one.
3. Remove the content from site two.

A quick fix if you have a rather basic site, would be, on the SSL pages, make all the links to other pages absolute rather than relative.

Instead of page.html
do http://www.site.com/page.html

Yikes, I didn't know the site was that big. Still, if you're afraid of how Google would "react" to those orphaned pages, I'd still test small, regardless of how large your overall site is.

That's a good idea. 10,000 Is still a lot. You could even test fewer than 10,000 pages. Why not try 1,000?

I second the Wordstream suggestion. It's a little pricey--$300 per month--but it works extremely well and will almost definitely save you more than $300 per month, so it pays for itself.

You can try their AdWords Performance Grader for free and it will tell you where you're going wrong. A few days after that, one of their staff usually gives you a call and offers additional suggestions.

One thing that I noticed is that your doctype is HTML but you are using an XHTML canonical tag.

It's possible SEOmoz is ignoring the tags for this reason.

I have no hard evidence, but if it were my site, I would do option C but keep an eye on what happens, and if I noticed anything strange happening, I would implement option B. But if option C makes you nervous, I see no reason you couldn't or shouldn't noindex them right off the bat.

That's merely one person's opinion, however.

It's the trade-off you get. Those other companies may be faster, but they're not as accurate. SEOmoz may be the most accurate, but as a result, it's the slowest.

About a year ago, I signed up for trials of all the main companies that offer this kind of service, not knowing much about any of them. It only took me about a week of trying them all out to know hands down that SEOmoz was the winner.

Look ahead a year from now. By then SEOmoz will have gotten it together and will likely be the best in almost every way, including the ways they're lacking in now. Those other companies will more than likely be in a similar place as they are currently.

I don't have advice either. Just know you're not alone and other people are feeling your frustration.

I just visited www.devoted2vintage.co.uk and the MOZ Bar said your home page has 4.992 links from 228 root domains.

There is no recommended max number of links per domain that I know of. If those sites are linking to you in a natural way, then there isn't a problem. If a lot of them have your site's link site wide, then I'd look into doing something about that.

I would delete links from anything spun, but beyond that, if you don't yet have a Google penalty, don't go too overboard. Some times people get overly paranoid and delete links that aren't hurting them.
