Raising a page in search engines - My plan - Thoughts...
Step 1 should really start off with something more along the lines of "Create a page around a product or service we provide. Determine related search terms, expanded terms, relevant informational queries, FAQ questions, LSI terms, etc. that could be used to enhance content of the page and draw traffic." Don't create a page for a single term. Create a page because it actually provides the user/customer/visitor with something worthwhile and relevant that you provide/offer. Step 2 should not be all about Social Media. SEO _is_how you get people to see/find your site. Social Media is a useful tool along side this but its more than just posting up a new page or a new blog post two or three times a week to your Company Page and somehow magically drawing in millions of followers... its about building a community, conversing with the community and related pages, cross-promotion, making yourself into an industry leader and authority on relevant related subjects. Now, if this is more of a B2B operation then you might want to consider a few other things. Because when thinking about it from that perspective you'll want to do some research about the major social networks and forums that members of that industry use. While Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter seem like great ways to push out a new site page and to start getting some traction, if all your industry professionals who would care about your information are on LinkedIn and PartnerUp then you'll want to prioritize that. Or if they congregate around a handful of G+ community or Facebook pages then you'll want to work towards being able to post your information there and/or be posted by the admins & users of those groups. Press Releases sound nice but make sure that its a good, legitimate press release service. Back in the day there were tons of these services out there and they were really good at getting your post on one or two decent sites.... and 300 crap sites... all of which were 'useful' at the time but definitely lead to some headaches involving disavows when that became a thing. Just because your content is being syndicated across a whole bunch of sites doesn't mean that its necessarily a good thing... for all you know, the bulk of those pages are buried so deep and NoIndexed instead of having a cross-domain canonical to the 'original' so there's no traffic to & through it and no equity being gained. And hell, since it could be creating 300 instances of duplicate content and most of those sites probably do the same for tons of other 'clients'... those links you do get will potentially be from low quality, low domain authority, and fairly spammy sites. Step 4 sounds fine. You might also want to look into something like HARO (https://www.helpareporter.com/), offer up an article to a relevant business journal as an editorial (and don't try to 're-sell' that article to multiple sites with 'a couple tweaks'), reach out to leaders in related industries for legitimate cross-promotional opportunities, look into opportunities to speak with or offer insight to the writers of relevant industry blogs, etc.

Download help
Hi there! Tawny from the Help Team here. The new ranking CSV functions a bit differently than the previous CSV. With our new rankings format, you can select any timeframe from your campaign history, with the default timeframe being three months (12 weeks) or the age of the campaign (whichever is shorter). When you export that data using the new ranking CSV option, it exports every update within that data set, so you will see multiple rows of data for each keyword if your timeframe encompasses any more than one week. For example, if you choose the "Last 3 months" or default timeframe option from the calendar controls, you will get up to 12 rows of data for each keyword, as there are 12 weekly updates in that timeframe. You may get less rows of data for a particular keyword if the keyword was added less than 12 weeks ago. If you want to limit the export just one row of data per keyword, you would need to choose dates within one week of an update. I hope this helps! Feel free to write in to help@ if you have any other questions or if there's anything that needs clarifying!

Is my plan the right plan? - What do you suggest/do?
Hi there I would say your plan is pretty fundamentally solid. Moz offers some great resources: The Beginner's Guide to SEO The Beginner's Guide to Link Building The Beginner's Guide to Social Media Moz Academy All of the above will help you build a solid foundation with your SEO, link building, and social media. A lot of this comes down to knowing what your audience is searching for, what kind of content they like, and where to find them. If you can nail all of that down, you're golden. You're providing value to your audience with great content, and that's when people want to link to you - when they see you're providing REAL value to your industry or niche. It all comes down to research and aligning your business goals with your audience goals - take the time now to get a good gameplan going by learning as much as you can, test it, and tweak as needed. Hope this all helps! Good luck!

A question on keywords that rank 51+
Hey As a general rule, you should have an optimized page for each keyword your trying to rank for. Its difficult to rank with a page for several different keywords. Just remember you're NOT trying to rank your homepage, your trying to rank the unique landing page for that keyword. Hope that helps, best of luck

Keyword ranking stuck in neutral... Suggestions needed
Hi guys, Thanks so much for your input. The strange thing is that we are doing so many of those things you have already mentioned. I guess I am just confused as to where to go next to show increases for words that we aren't ranking for but want to rank for AND to raise words that we currently rank for. (To my company it is more important to rank for the other keywords at this point) We use social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, YouTube) - we make one post a day so we aren't spamming it. The keywords are within the recommendation standards on the website. We have a huge presence in our industry. I guess I am just looking for other suggestions on how to get those other keywords up.

Keyword Ranking Question - Paid Ads?
Hi, Mike is correct. Your organic search traffic and ranking is for organic keywords only. A way to double check your ranking: download the Moz bar, and when you type a query into Google, you will see a bold number under each result indicatng it's rank in position. You will not see this number next to an ad. Hope that helps!

Ranked page is not desired page
See my frustration!? Yes. I see it. I see some of this in my own SERPs. In my SERPs that target items that are heavily purchased at Christmas the spammers buy a big load of links in the fall, get the rankings just before Christmas, then cut the links. Pisses me off every year.
