Hello, I'm wondering if anything has changed with regards to Yandex.  I can find keyword data for volumes of search queries, but nothing on the level of competition.  Here is the Yandex keyword tool.  http://wordstat.yandex.ru/?cmd=words  But this tool doesn't provide anything in teh way of keyword competitiveness. Does anyone know anything about Yandex keyword competition? Thanks, Rob

no there is nothing wrong at all. Generaly you would either force pages to be either one or the other. There is not too many senarios where you would want to allow both.

Way you propose is good if you can ask to change most of external links. If no, some link weight will be lost after redirect. I can propose alternative decision. You can create special subdomain or folder for country with such issues. And redirect visitors by IP. Of course in this case you should use canonical to avoid duplicate content. In result you will have primary page URL in SERP, but all people from specific country will be redirected to working pages. Cheers, Vladimir

A 301 redirect is generally the preferred option to keep credit for any links you have gained to those pages. You can check if the page has links in Open Site Explorer but it doesn't always find every inbound link so there might be inbound links you don't know about. My suggestion would be to create a page that explains that the product line has been discontinued with links to recommended alternatives. Then 301 redirect the old pages to this new page. Otherwise customers might be confused as to why they are being redirected to your homepage and bounce.

Is there some sort of a caching plugin installed? Did you check to see if the DB tables are showing the same data as the all in one? Is there another SEO plugin installed?

Just heard from a GeoEdge rep who says that they have proxy servers internationally (100+ locations) and a toolbar-based version as well, so sounds like it's worth checking out.

So does that mean if they don't have PR fixing them should not be a priority?

I would really need more information on this blog structure for example is it sitting on a sub domain? In my opinion the best way to treat a company blog and with the blogs I have worked on in the past we do have our list of mid-low tier keywords we aim to factor into posts, yet if the post is going to sound SEO spammy we do not include the keywords in titles, move for the url, really foucs on top quality content and bringing in content that the users will want to share. Develop a content strategy around the blog plan what you will add to the blog over a term of time. I would advise on the following: Video content (how to videos/ any thing interesting depending on your niche) Infographics - Market trends/ analysis - show your customers you know your stuff. Community events, I have seen a few company blogs where they show weekend events near the company and how they are involved, it is easy content and easy traffic. Have a separate section for it. We blog to make the customers love the posts yet also ROI is factored in. Hope this helps.

I would like to see the pages, because i cant see how numbers would help conversion. Jou could also load numbers after a delay, but proabably the easiest answer would be to make sure you have description tags,a nd place plety of other text for SE's to sample

Before writing the question on SEO Moz I leaning towards a subdomain for the exact same reasons you listed here.  However, based on the input below it seems as if links and PR can be passed from both a subdomain and subdirectory. Do you disagree?
