Question about keyword
Following on from Johns response; "You should have an instinct for which of these will convert best." Once you have a list of these keywords you could always carry out an old-school KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) check on each of them. 1. Check the Adwords tool for the number of monthly searches. 2. Run a regular google search and note the number of returned results which is diaplyed just below the search bar. i/e 'About 1,799,900 results (0.13 seconds) - This is your competition. 3. KEI = monthly searches x monthly searches ÷ competition The KEI theory is that the higher the KEI the more effective your campaign will be. Initially the figures don't give you a very clear picture but if you include the KEI check as part of your regular research and combine the results with your other keyword analysis and "instict" you will end up with a more rounded view. If, for instance, you were choosing between two different keywords to use as your main target keyword and one of them had a KEI of 2.3 and the other had a KEI of 176.4 then I would be opting for the second keyword choice.

Authority of a page
Thanks, slide 17 certainly seems to back this up. I wonder how much extra weight a link from a different C-Block provides vs. from the same IP / C-Block and whether the extra effort / cost makes it worthwhile? (again wrt a single link between two of your own sites)

Websites on same c class IP address
But if you have 20 sites linking to you, and they're all from the same Class C IP address, and those are pretty much your ONLY links, that looks a bit fishy to the search engines. It's a signal to the search engines that "hey, this person can only get links from sites that have a high probability of the same person being in control of all of the sites". That's why you'll see people talk about linkbuilding and wanting to do so from different Class C IP addresses.

How to find competition for a particular keyword
For some of the phrases I'm currently working on all of the top ten SERPs have the phrase in the URL. Not saying its a factor but I wouldn't like to leave it out of the equation just yet.

Canonical tag question
Google views the canonical tag as a hint, and reserves the right to ignore it if the pages don't look to be virtually identical in content, so it would depend in part on how much of the content is duplicate. If it's your own site, you can always give it a try and see. If it's a client site and they're depending on both pages ranking for conversions, I'd warn them first that you might lose the rankings from Page B.

Robots.txt file
As Ryan said, robots.txt file is very useful when you wanna block (disallow) some pages. Indeed, if you don't want that spider crawls your page you must use robots.txt (noindex tags will let bot crawls, but not index, your page). I have got a small website but i dropped robots.txt in my folder. Maybe write just Allow: / could be useless, but you can say: "I respect protocols"

What is wrong with this site
Hi Atul. Shelly offers a great response and gets a thumbs up from me. A few points of feedback to add in addition: the site is currently duplicated. It is available in both the www and non-www URL format. This major issue needs to be addressed The site is social with facebook. Add google+ and twitter as well. Social sharing can be added to each and every "product" which in this case is the papers. For the home page, I dislike seeing index.php. It is not helpful to users nor search engines. Which URL looks nicer to you? http://allkindofessays.com/index.php or http://allkindofessays.com/ The GoDaddy SSL certificate is fine, but the "SSL Certificates" text underneath it is totally unnecessary and I would remove it. On your home page the sidebar has "Subjects" and the exact same links and subjects are shared in the main page area. I would suggest one or the other but not both. Shelly mentions a XML sitemap but I would recommend an HTML sitemap for users, not XML. The XML sitemap is great for search engines, not users. Good luck.

SEO with duplicate content for 3 geographies
So, shall i accept the project considering i am safe at seomoz ! That is entirely your decision. I would not recommend depending on SEOmoz for assistance. The Q&A is a fantastic resource for asking an occasional question, but some questions go unanswered and the quality of answers can vary. You are being paid for your expertise on a subject. Only accept the job if you are confident you can offer a solid benefit to the client. I was very candid with my first clients about my experience. I offered to work hard, work extra and work for less money but I did not ever hide my lack of experience. You may wish to do the same. Any tool to know the different terms used by australia and uk people. None that I am aware of. I would recommend locating someone from each country.

Clarification from old seomoz post
Hi, First, when you type "Clear browser cache" in the Address Bar of Google Chrome while on Google, it does NOT clear the cache, but offers you 3 pre loaded Search result pages to choose from - one for each browser. The result page for each provides a list of sites with instructions on how to clear the cache for the browser you choose. In IE, again it does NOT clear the cache, sends you straight to the results page for IE, but in the latest version of Firefox it does not work at all. You can easily check this yourself in your own browser. USER AGENT = Browser type (Chrome, Firefox, IE) Hope that helps. Sha

File from godaddy.com
I'm guessing it's a report from GoDaddy related to the Search Engine Visibility package? See a few more details at http://www.godaddy.com/search-engine/seo-services.aspx and that might explain it.

Problem of printer friendly version.
Correct. Often a site will refer to numerous CSS files. There are tools which will combine multiple CSS files into a single file and properly compress the files to optimize them for page speed.

How to find keywords getting significant traffic
I've found Wordtracker to be the easiest to get started with. You can enter in keyword phrases on their home page and get instant, actionable advice. Then, after you've made a few choices in Wordtracker, go to AdWords to compare and refine your results. However, here is a down-and-dirty way to find out high-traffic keywords: Go to Google.com and log out of your Google account. Start typing in your search terms Google automatically returns the most-searched terms while you're typing.

Site speed - query
It's a measure of whatever page is in question. Usually site speed tools measure the page that you are currently on or the URL that you give them. It's not limited to the home page.
