If I optimize for a long tailed keyword, will I also catch the short keywords within it?
I usually optimize mainly for the short tail keyword, and try to include lots of diverse content that will also qualify my page to rank for long tail queries. Why? Because many of the long tail queries contain the short tail keyword within them. I will make an effort to place my most important long tail queries in the title tag to give the page extra ranking strength for them. If you have really strong content that is competitive with what is ranking on the first page of Google for a short tail query, you should not hesitate to go after the short tail query. If you can produce competitive quality content - Do Not Fear Competition - because where you have heavy competition there is also lots of traffic and lots of money changing hands. Optimize your page, make sure that is as good as you can make it, toss it up, and you will probably connect with traffic. Promote it as you feel necessary. Although I currently don't believe anyone who claims to understand RankBrain, I believe that it is going to strongly favor long tail content that is highly competitive.

SEO'd Title Tag for Product Pricing Page with Little to No SV for Product Pricing Related Terminology
Hi Richard. One thing you could do is run a PPC campaign directed at this page using only Company Name branded terms (thus helping with a low CPC) and split test all the different titles you're considering. This way you'll find one that gits your needs as well as one that generates the best CTR based on your tests. Cheers!

URL Capitalization Inconsistencies Registering Duplicate Content Crawl Errors
http://moz.com/learn/seo/canonicalization "Another option for dealing with duplicate content is to utilize the rel=canonical tag. The rel=canonical tag passes the same amount of link juice (ranking power) as a 301 redirect, and often takes much less development time to implement."

What does Google consider a "Duplicate Title Tag?"
I'm not certain duplicate means exactly the same when it comes to titles. I've seen instances on particularly on large ecommerce sites where titles are blatantly auto-generated and are not displayed by Google in SERPs: e.g. "buy <parent category="">and <subcategory products="">from xyz shop at great prices"</subcategory></parent> In view it's likely that Google is aware of this from a quality guidelines standpoint. Where possible, titles should be individually crafted.

What are the best practices for optimizing a site for multiple locations?
Hi Mandy, The second part of Keri's question is important. To create a strategy, you must first answer these questions: Does the client meet face-to-face with customers or is business done virtually? Does the client have a physical office/s in cities within the states you are mentioning? Do customers come to these offices or do employees leave from these offices to serve customers at their places of business? Your opportunities for promotion are based on the business model (physical vs. virtual). Please provide as much detail as you can so that you will receive the best possible answer from the community.

HELP! How does one prevent regional pages as being counted as "duplicate content," "duplicate meta descriptions," et cetera...?
Are they showing as duplicate content within Moz Analytics? As long as the search engines don't see it as duplicate content you shouldn't have a problem. Here are some things to check for: The content should be localised as best as possible (e.g. the differences between US, Canadian and British English). I'm not sure it's possible with your sites, but things like contact details and local currency can help send the right signals to Google etc. - so the address and phone number if you have a HQ in each country. Each site should be registered separately with Bing and Google Webmaster Tools and geotargeted to the relevant location. Use the hreflang attribute if you're not already (triple-check to make sure it is set up properly): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en - you can set Canadian English (en-ca) and Canadian French (fr-ca) - the language always comes before the country. As you mentioned your terms and conditions, I noticed a lot of companies are using very similar wording to yours, so that could be an issue of duplicate content that features on completely different websites. You could rewrite the t's and c's, though I wouldn't see any harm in noindexing those particular pages.

How far back do you need to optimize your blog posts?
Hi Krista, as Donnie says (assuming you don't have the time/resources to optimise all posts), I would optimise all posts that are still useful. If an old post has "evergreen" content, it's probably worth optimising. If the post is outdated or time sensitive, it probably has limited value at present and therefore would be a lower priority for optimisation. I would delve into the Analytics data and see what posts are ranking well, what keywords you are ranking for and what type of content visitors are most interested in. I would also perform a quick audit of all blog posts to decide what their primary keyword would be, whether they are still useful, what sort of traffic they are receiving and their priority for optimising. Good luck!

Can I optimize two different pages with very similar keywords without hurting SEO?
I think it's hard to make that assumption. Maybe they're an "innovation management" company that provides services and software. Yes, I agree that the home page can target more than one term but segmenting keywords out into hyper-relevant long tail content pages can only help. Potentially, both those pages can rank for the same term.

How long does it take for google to realize there is a new language sub domain?
I find that it's better to tell Google it exists, but still let them find it. The best way to accomplish this is to push out an announcement on social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc. saying "Client A is proud to announce their newly released Japanese language site at http://ja.amdocs.com." That's the quickest way. Google visits the bookmarking sites on a daily basis and when they do, the spiders will crawl those links and then index your newly posted sites. We've used this tactic to achieve indexing in under 48 hours in the past.

Does posting an article on multiple sites hurt seo?
It depends. If the article goes on your site first it gets indexed and all the credit. If someone takes it for their own usage and does not link back to you it can hurt them. If they syndicate your article and trackback to the original, AKA the first one indexed they will not be punished.

Does a capitalized subfolder affect a URL's SEO value?
Hi Krista. Stephan offers good advice. Since you are at the point of adjusting URLs I would add a bit: Which format is better? www.client.com/Pages/keyword-phrase.aspx or www.client.com/Pages/Keyword-Phrase.aspx A simple rule to follow, always use lower case letters in URL folders and page names. Another improvement would be to never use technology extensions in page names. The .aspx portion of your URL offers no value to users nor search engines. It makes your URL appear longer and more complicated. Drop it. The best URL for your page would be: www.client.com/pages/keyword-phrase All major CMS software can work with these standards. The adjustments should be relatively simple. If your software does not support this change, you are likely using a custom CMS or an outdated one. Either way I would recommend you use CMS software which is flexible enough to allow you to comply with known best practices.

Why would you remove a canonical link?
Removing the canonical tag would not result in duplicate pages. It is just a tag to give a suggestion to search engines on which page is the canonical version. For example if there is a duplicate page and it is not easy to 301 redirect and you can't easily get rid of the duplicate, adding the rel canonical tag would tell Google which version is the main version. Here is a good resource on Rel Canonical Tags: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/complete-guide-to-rel-canonical-how-to-and-why-not
