Hi there!
Can you tell me what version of the Mozbar you're currently running? For Chrome, you should be on 3.1.11. If you're not current, you can download the most recent version here.
Hi there!
That number is tallying up everything in the managed section in the dashboard. In this case you have a published listing with a duplicate which is why it's saying 2. I can definitely understand how this could be confusing though. I've confirmed that you only have one listing so there's nothing to worry about there. I'm also going to forward this along as feedback to our Local team on your behalf. Apologies again for the confusion here!
Happy to help!
We crawled roughly 49k pages because there were that many links on the site that we could find. 50k is also the new standard crawl limit for campaigns in Standard and Medium subscriptions. Adding a rel=canonical to a page doesn't mean it won't get crawled by our campaign crawler, only that the crawler is to refer to the canonicalized link for reporting purposes.
Without going into too specific of URL details, these pages are considered duplicates because their canonical tags point to different URLs. For example,
is considered a duplicate of
DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/QR?booking_date=&booking_days=&booking_persons=limit%252525253D20
because the canonical tag for the first page is
DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/QR?offset=20
while the canonical for the second URL is
DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/QR
Since the canonical tags point to different pages it is assumed that DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/QR?offset=20 and DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/QR are likely to be duplicates themselves.
Here is how our system interprets duplicate content vs. rel=canonical:
Assuming A, B, C, and D are all duplicates,
If A references B as the canonical, then they are not considered duplicates
If A and B both reference C as canonical, A and B are not considered duplicates of each other
If A references C as a canonical, A and B are considered duplicated
If A references C as canonical, B references D, then A and B are considered duplicates
The above example from your campaign actually falls into the fourth example I've listed above. Hope this helps clear things up
Hi there!
Without specific examples, it's really hard to diagnose/research questions like this. High level, campaign will grade a keyword based on the search engine and domain. When we do, we take a look at whether it's set to track all sites at that domain or just the specific domain. If it's just set to track that specific domain (let's say a root domain) and your ranking on a subdomain, the rankings will reflect that - in many cases that you're not ranking in the top 50 of SERPs or if you are ranking on both domains, what you're ranking for the given domain.
Rank Tracker on the other hand defaults to provide rankings data for all sites in the domain that you type in unless you choose otherwise. Reviewing a couple of the keywords in each of your campaigns, the rankings do look accurate and if you're ranking in the top 50 of SERP's, the URL you're ranking for is displaying for the keywords. If you're still running into issues here, please reach out and let us know with some specific examples so that we can review this further for you. Hope this helps!
Hi!
I'm going to leave the strategy discussion open to the community but from a technical standpoint, we will count rel=canonical on dynamic urls as long as they are implemented correctly. Dr. Pete has a great post where he talks about canonicals that might be helpful as well. Updates to campaigns happen on a weekly basis depending on when the campaign was created. So if it was created on a Tuesday, you'll see updated campaign data every Tuesday after. You can run a crawl test (accessible from Research Tools) to get 3k page crawls in between your updates though. Hope this helps!
There's nothing else that I know of this could be. Every case we've had where we received a 403 when trying to ping a site has had to do with us being blocked on the server level. We do crawl from the cloud so our IP's change regularly. Are you blocking AWS?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out!
It looks like the site is throwing a 403 when we try to access it:
http://screencast.com/t/rxgMHyoW
So you're probably blocking us on the server level. This can generally be cleared up through the HTaccess file of your site but you'll probably want to discuss this with your webmaster for more details. Hope this helps!
Hi there!
You should be able to do that. You'd just need to make sure it's formatted correctly. For the hours you listed, it would look something like this for Sunday:
1:09:00AM:11:00AM,1:02:00PM:06:30PM
If the hours overlap, then we wouldn't be able to process it for you. Hope this helps!
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out!
Rank tracker is designed to show you generic SERPs on a country level. Basically, we're trying to show you what the SERPs would be if you were to search with a browser in incognito/private mode. There isn't a way to make the results more geo targeted in the tool itself, but you could add a geo-modifier to the term to try to localize it more. If you'd like to see the ability to geo target ranking results more, I recommend checking out our Feature Request Forum and letting our Product team know. Thanks!
What specific issue are you having with Moz Local? If you don't want to go into details here in the community, you're welcome to send a support ticket in and one of us on the team can get back to you that way.
Re: your question about chat, it is available but generally only for sales or billing related questions. At the moment, we've pulled back on chat so we can get through a backlog of tickets but things should be back to normal in the next week or so.
That's definitely odd, but I'm glad it ended up working out in the end. Just to make sure though, are you still running into any issues accessing Moz?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out and apologies for any issues here!
There weren't any outages to Moz that I'm aware of. I was able to access the site and tools from the 8th to today (10th) fine. Can you tell me if you're still having problems here? If so, can you try clearing your cookies/cache and restarting your browser? If that doesn't work, the next thing to try is a different machine and then accessing Moz from a different network.
Hi There,
Campaign alerts are primarily set to be sent to the admin on the account. Invoices can be sent to a secondary email which is set up in the Billing Information page of your account. Outside of that, you can create custom reports that can be sent to an external email. For more information on this, check out our Help Hub. Thanks!
Hi there,
The SERPs and other information presented in the Keyword Difficulty tool are going to be for whatever search engine you choose. The only thing that isn't going to be is the Search Volume data. That will always show Bing data because we lost access to Google's API a while back. Instead of leaving this blank, we still wanted to show a snapshot of volume. This has no effect on the score so you're safe there. Hope this helps clear things up!
Hi there,
The Moz app and tool set is designed to work with languages in a UTF-8 format and best with those that use English character sets. This will unfortunately mean you'll probable run into reliability issues with data around other languages like Persion, Farsi, Mandarin, etc.
There really isn't a way around this one. I'll be sure to pass it along as feedback to our Product team on your behalf.
Hi Everyone,
A fix for this issue was deployed a while ago so everything should be good to go. If you're still running into problems, please send in a ticket and let us know so we can look into this for you. Thanks!
Hi there,
I reviewed your account and can confirm you actually haven't been charged anything. Both our records and our payment processor's records only show a voided $1 authorization that is processed when you first set up an account to validate the card. As the authorization is pending and then voided, it generally drops off of a live billing statement after 2-3 business days.
If this is in regards to a different account than what you're writing in about, we'd need the email for it to research. I recommend sending in a ticket if you'd like more detailed information or for us to look into this further for you as we prefer not to discuss account details in the community for privacy and security purposes. Hope this helps clear things up and again, please reach out if you have any other questions. Thanks!
Hi!
Moz Pro is actually completely separate from Moz Local. Reviewing your account it doesn't look like you've been charged for either as you haven't purchased a listing and the Pro account you set up is still in a trial. You're welcome to cancel the trial of Pro at any time if you decide it's not right for you. You just need to log in and click on the cancel link on the subscription page of your account. Thanks!
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out and apologies for any issues here!
I logged into your account and was able to create a couple of test campaigns - which I've deleted - so things should be good to go. If you continue run into problems here, please let us know so we can do a deeper dive on this for you. Thanks!
Hi there,
I reviewed several pages that we're reporting as duplicates and none of them are canonicalized. If you don't want to change the content in the source code so it's not 95% similar to the other pages, you'll need to add canonicals. The Help Hub has some good info on how to do this. You can also run a search in the community.
If we reported 404's in the initial crawl, it's because they existed at the time. The most recent crawl isn't showing any 404's so this shouldn't be an issue anymore.
Again, there are no 404's reported in this week's crawl for your campaign so there will be no 404's in the crawl diagnostic csv. That is where you'll want to go if this comes up again though.
-If the page on your site is linked to from anywhere on your site, we will crawl and report on it up to the page crawl limit set for the campaign. We're not going to report data for non-existent links as that isn't physically possible. I hope this helps clear things up.
