1. Do not get duped with cheap prices or "paid" links. if you want paid links, run a PR campaign, far far better value. do some press releases if you have news to share. "paid links" of most other kinds really will bite you at some point.

2. you are not doing "everything" in your power, not even close.

3. DIY SEO can be very time consuming and hard to do properly, that is why people like you, business owners whose time is worth more than sitting and learning all about SEO, hire people whose lives revolve around SEO.

4. per my basic and quick look up of your website:

• Your top referring "followed" baclink comes from a page with DA of 55. not so stellar.

• you have 10 total "root domains" giving you 312 backlinks. looks kind of very spammy! that is 31 links per each root domain and only 10 total referring root domains.

• per a little further digging

I notice that your anchor text profile does not seem something too healthy for SEO, very little relevance, and very irrelevant variance. You need to do some keyword research and better optimize your page titles and on-page SEO and then try to integrate those KWs in a non-spammy way into your controlled back-links (those you can edit). you further really need to invest in a way to have user or third party generated content about you and your company.

there you go, now you have a few things to get started on instead of just being upset and pondering what you have done wrong or what those other guys do. SEO is no quick fix nor easy thing to mess with and requires a lot of study time and dedication on a continuous basis.

There are no SET RULES.

You can use one particular keyphrase per page or you can be savvy and utilize your organic text and similar or alternative terms as well as google is on a daily basis improving on understanding meanings and definitions of words.

Although your keywords ratio counts (your targeted kw over your total number of words per page) to some extent, it is not what it used to be 10 years ago. your actual authority, originality, and uniqueness of content will count many times as much as your keywords of choice.

Of course, not all websites can really utilize this content strategy in a direct way on their pages. In cases like e-commerce where very little changes and updates can be made to a product page's content with a real added value for SEO, the one or two limited kw approach may work better. However, even these guys can exercise SEO blogging and relevant content creation (infographics, etc) on their domain to bring in more traffic and boost overall domain authority which can result in an indirect improvement effect on page authority and traffic as well.

but there are no etched in stone rules about this, you just don't want to spam, and don't want to lose focus of your targeted keywords. those are the only rules you need to know. the rest, how shall i say, "must come to you organically", if you read your text and titles aloud, and they sound fine, you see or hear your keywords a few times, its all good signs you are on the right track.

may i further remind you that when it comes to keywords, it is HIGHLY VITAL you know WHERE  to use them in key places of your site and pages (metadata-not meta keywords-titles, headings, top of the page content, etc) do some digging on this stuff and get a better understanding before spending time generating content, SEO revisions are even more time consuming and mentally exhausting...

it is a combination of both of those factors as well as your competition's use of your keywords and others.

Also, it will depend on the rate of new and worthy content creation with relevant and similar keywords included within your website/blog.

it also depends on how popular is your particular keyphrase with searchers themselves, you can use services like google trends, google correlate, and google adwords keyword tool to find out some useful numbers about your targeted kws and their popularity with searchers and competitors (at least with regards to paid ads, but if they know what they are doing they will more than likely use the same kws for SEO as well) alike.

there are no guarantees, but yes there are ways to maximize your chances (age of ads from competitors can count against you as one out of control factor)

you can use the tools google provides such as google traffic estimator and keyword tool to find out data about your keyphrases and their competitiveness. The more competitive a kw, the more you can expect to pay for it during your preferred peak hours of search (yes you can also vary your bids on ads by hours of day using automated rules, after you establish with some time what are the best hours of the day with regards to your traffic and adwords clicks)

In traffic estimator google gives you a pretty close idea of the costs you can expect and the a semi-close image of what you can expect with regards to results. use the **Daily estimates **bar on the bottom of that page for best results. you must have your adwords account already hooked up for best results.

what does your content say about US vs UK? your street address? your google plus page? your google maps listing? heck your other online listings? because you know that google considers all of these as factors for relevancy of information regardless of your geo settings in WT... yep, they have already said they aim to become a "knowledge engine" as opposed to a search engine, so they basically build up a semi-intelligent profile on you this way as far as I can tell, and that is how they can corroborate various types and sources of data about you and then decide how to rank you where and for what keywords.

a lot more involved here than your geo settings in WT imho

Also what are we talking about here, two domains or one domain? .com and .co.uk could very well be treated differently for rankings in UK vs US. I am a bit confused.

If they are going to affect your SEO, you want to avoid subdomains as each subdomain will be treated as separate and irrelevant from others with regards to link juice and authority build up

you may have to work a little harder this way to achieve similar user experience to sub-domains, using things like geolocation services instead, or even making your site socially friendly and personalized with SSO and so on, and you may have to change your web design around this as well by incorporating navigation buttons or breadcrumbs in proper locations to enhance or organize user experience. In the end, for most situations, subfolders will pay off far far better in the long run, especially for new sites who need heavy SEO work. Down the line and when traffic and authority are established, you can always switch to subdomains and not care about SEO anymore, with proper 301s and other mitigations.

You can safely use the standard feed features provided by most major CMS and blogging platforms, they often have this option enabled by default or let you do it.

and what do you mean exactly by "mark up manually"? coding?

My experience was that mergers and removals take so long and can be very very tricky (google made a huge mistake and deleted / merged a profile we had asked to keep and claim later-awaiting for mail-that had a lot of reviews on it and it was gone with no undo in sight.

I would create and confirm a new listing and get a google plus page for it with confirmation, link website and confirm, and then attempt to merge /delete anything old and bad.

I had a google rep on the phone for adwords and analytics and asked them to help me with this issue to avoid just the headache i was dreading and it resulted in them removing what i wanted them to keep and saving what i wanted them to remove. i even made it clear in back and forth emails with her in writing.

so just be careful, maybe if reviews are not important, request closure and merger of all listings and once all are gone and you can confirm, immediately recreate a clean and official permanent account and keep login access somewhere findable and safe for future.

I know a lot of my clients who have issues with not knowing which email their adwords, their social or their google places or plus accounts are connected to.... its a pain to do anything for them when the time comes...

If you move into wix with an existing site - NO GO

if you start out of wix and do not need all those good full featured SEO controls for your sites - GO GO GO

you can always later on do 301s from old wix urls (hasbang situation considered, there are ways)

I am yet to hear or see a valid complaint for wix or similar sites that is proving they are "horrible" for SEO. the fact that for wordpress you still need to learn coding and will NEVER get the same visuals as easily and as fast (with coding, you can do anything, but then again why use wordpress when you can code)

they say they may introduce this stuff at some point in future and I take their word for it, but wont hold my breath, their future could mean months-years.

there is a technical mismatch. we have tried many times, with sites that are old or new, flash or html5, OSE and wix at the moment do not mix. campaigns, yes they work almost 100% well.

But David would you care to elaborate why a service like wix is "horrible" for SEO while we have had success ranking sites on it very well?

take this, for random names and brands, they may not even recognize it proper and find the next best guess to it...

As Paul said, I do not like the whole "goofing" around situation with machine learning and Google's current artificial intel. its not nearly perfect technology and you can be its statistical miss...

Google sees the source code. it doesnt matter as long as the text receives the same position and emphasis value really as far as I know... whether it is on a button, in a title, in a speech bubble, so long as it is ON-PAGE ie not called vai some script from some other source and shown there...

my 2 cents, maybe others know more about this, dont know of any "research" done on this.

I would go as far as saying I would bet the difference is not material to even care about, if it exists at all. for your average content text (not key text like titles or headings)

Nothing really to "resolve" this.

those tools could simply provide you with cues and signs to figure out what went wrong and when... traffic and referral data on those pages could also indicate when they exactly stopped appearing in search and you can the correlate that with your dev actions if you do have some memory or log of those steps taken and backtrack and find out what was set wrong.

have you checked your google/bing webmasters tool yet? that often will give you the best answer in these situations?

Do you use analytics? Have you checked that as well?

if any pages do show up when you site search your domain on google, then you are being indexed, if pages you made are too new, it may take some time for them to become available in google's SERPs

it all just depends, how long has it been?

I see only 2 links in bing results for your site, but for google we have 9 results, how many should it be? 14?
