I don't think i have too many on-page links (roughly 50 internal per sub-category -product listing page).  About 20 of the 50 on page links are to specific models (sizes).  Each one of these pages has text explaining about the products they would find below.  I was thinking of using the last bullet point on these pages to say something like:

"Not what you're looking for, view all: anchor text"

Do you think that is (A) helpful for the user and (B) helpful or detrimental to my rankings

Please keep in mind that many of the people that visit my site are not computer experts (or even anything remotely close to one) and have no idea what "breadcrumbs" are or that they can even click them to go back a level.

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or advice on an internal linking strategy for an e commerce website.

I was thinking about adding a link to all of the subcategory pages that says:

"View All : main keyword" and having my main keyword hyperlinked back to the home page.

This would provide users who have gotten to a subcategory page that may not be exactly what they are looking for simply click that link and go back to the home page to select a different category....

Would having an internal link with the same anchor text on roughly 30 pages hurt my rankings?  Wouldn't that help users navigate through my site?

I have removed the videos from the sidebar and moved the text from the top of the page and put it into that sidebar....

Do you think moving that text and/or removing those videos will negatively affect my place in the Search engines?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should to do improve this page so that people don't exit my site from there?

There are tons of plugins to choose from, but I'm looking for something that will keep the look of the site the same, just optimized to perform and view better on mobile devices..

I've recently been able to bring my site way up in the rankings for some very competitive keywords.  I've done nothing spammy, and everything has been done with a lot of detail and a focus on only using the best techniques.

My site is on page 2 for a lot of keywords.  What would be your suggestions for getting over that hump and making it to page 1?  I'm happy with my results (coming from pages 30-50 to page 2 over a couple of months) but I'm not satisfied and won't be until I can be on the top of page 1...

I am trying to clean up my e-commerce site and i created a lot of new categories for my parts...

I've made the old category pages (which have had their content removed) "hidden" to anyone who visits the site and starts browsing.  The only way you could get to those "hidden" pages is either by knowing the URLS that I used to use or if for some reason one of them is spidering in Google.

Since I'm trying to clean up the site and get rid of any duplicate content issues, would i be better served by adding those "hidden" pages that don't have much or any content to the Robots.txt file or should i just De-activate them so now even if you type the old URL you will get a 404 page...

In this case, are 404 pages bad?  You're typically not going to find those pages in the SERPS so the only way you'd land on these 404 pages is to know the old url i was using that has been disabled.

Please let me know if you guys think i should be 404'ing them or adding them to Robots.txt

I have a magento site and would like to do a 301 redirect from page A  to page B.

Page B was created after Page A but contains the same products.

I want page A to be replaced in the search engines with page B while carrying the link juice from page A.

Is this possible?  Am I better off just blocking page A through the robots .txt file?

I was hoping to get some help or tips on how to best control the canonical tag on a Magento based website.

When you go into the Magento admin and enable the option to use the canonical tag on pages, all that does is input the canonical tag to the exact page just with the http:// in the url.

My goal is to use the canonical tag on specific pages and point it to other pages, not just the same page with an http://

For example, right now for page:

example.com/question/baseball the canonical tag is pointing to http://example.com/question/baseball

What i want is to be able to do is take:

example.com/question/baseball and have the canonical tag point to example.com/question/baseballbats

Is this possible?  Does what I'm saying make sense?

I have multiple blogs that all relate to the same industry and products...

The blogs all have unique content, they do not have duplicate content...

Is there a way to share the information or link from one to the other without being seen as someone trying to manipulate anything?  The goal is to keep each blog updated frequently, but I can only write so much unique content... can i somehow share the content?

Please provide any feedback or advice...

Is it bad (in terms of ranking in the SERPS) if i have a link from a page with PA of 18 going to a page with PA of 21?

In other words, does it matter if the page containing the link has a lower page authority than the page receiving the link?

Page A links to Page B

Page A page authority is 18

Page B page authority 21

could this negatively affect my rankings?

What's the best way to improve bounce rate on my site and help convert visitors to customers?

Before i start writing them and trying to find sites to submit them to, i wanted to get some feedback on if press releases (with probably 2-3 links to my ecommerce site) are still valuable for SEO....

If you think that Press Releases are a good way to get your name out there and create some unique and relevant backlinks, please advise what sites you would submit them to...

So far all I've come up with is prweb.com ...

Please let me know if you think Press Releases still provide value for moving up in the SERPS and if so, what sites should i submit them to.
