Well if those pages rank well and you do get traffic why would you update it so often?

RE: What makes a "perfectly optimized page" in 2013?
That post could be considered a sort of bible for those, like me, that are just starting SEO and On-Page optimization.I have been sticking to those suggestions and I have to say that it works.
As Chris says, some more additional information could help, but in my point of view, that article gives the basic guidelines to follow and I found it really useful in terms of SEO results.

RE: Increasing pageviews on a social networking site
Hello there,
I agree with Oleg.
As we digital people say, make it sticky and make it look great.
Also, try to differentiate it from the most common social media and interests people in order for them to come back.

RE: Facebook Apps
Hello there,
I will add just some points to the answer above.
Some Facebook apps may create more likes but if you don't promote your app properly and your app is not giving your customers anything valuable I don't think it will help.
I'd look at what level of engagement and activity you have on Facebook to evaluate if it is worth creating it.
Also ask yourself simple questions such: why would customers use this app? What does this app add to their experience? How many times will they use this app? etc.
And yes creating an app takes time and skills, so my suggestion is to evaluate every single aspect before making any decision.
Hope it helps.

RE: What is the best free 'contact finder' tool?
You could just write a post thanking the people that have linked to you on your social media.
I am sure they will appreciate more than any email you want to send them.

RE: GWT Duplicate Content and Canonical Tag - Annoying
Thank you for your answers.
Yeah I checked the rel=canonical and I fixed it as it had been implemented badly.
I guess I have to wait and see!
Cheers

GWT Duplicate Content and Canonical Tag - Annoying
Hello everyone!
I run an e-commerce site and I had some problems with duplicate meta descriptions for product pages.
I implemented the rel=canonical in order to address this problem, but after more than a week the number of errors showing in google webmaster tools hasn't changed and the site has been crawled already three times since I put the rel canonical.
I didn't change any description as each error regards a set of pages that are identical, same products, same descriptions just different length/colour.
I am pretty sure the rel=canonical has been implemented correctly so I can't understand why I still have these errors coming up.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

RE: What to do against competitor PPC sabotage?
I agree with Jesse,
This is sad and it shows you how many people can only use this techniques in order to overpower competitors, instead of working their a***s off in order to achieve good results.
I feel sorry for them, but on the other side, if I were you I would be happy, because you are doing a good job with your campaign that this competitor can't really compete with.
I don't think you can really prevent this, instead notify bing and if you know exactly which company has done it to you, you might report them.

RE: Missing meta descriptions from Google SERPs
Hello there,
Sometimes Google picks up other information from the page rather than using the meta description when it considers that your meta description are not very relevant for what customers have looked for.
Just make your meta descriptions more relevant.

Website Down
Hello guys,
My website hasn't been reachable for couple of hours today and I can't really understand why as no links have been built, all the best practices have been followed regarding on page optimization.
I also checked google webmaster tools and there are no warning messages, crawl problems or anything so I don't understand why this has happened.
Now for some reason the website is up and running again.

Rel="canonical"
Hello guys,
By fixing the duplicate meta description issues of my site I noticed something a bit weird. The pages are product pages and the product on each one of them is the same and the only difference is the length of the product.
On each page there is a canonical tag, and the link within the tag points to the same page.
www.example.com/Product/example/2001
<rel="canonical" href="www.example.com/Product/example/2001"></rel="canonical">
This happens on every other page.
I read twice and I think I will do it again the post on GWT and I think that is wrong as it should point to a different url, which is
www.example.com/ProductGroup/example/
which is the the page where all the product are grouped together.
Cheers

RE: Duplicate Title and Content. How to fix?
Hello there,
If it is a duplicate content/title for different pages you just have to write new ones for each page.
If you have this issue because you have similar pages such as similar product pages you might want to use the rel=canonical and tell Google that those page are similar and it will not consider as a duplicate.
If you have like different pages such as page1,2,3 and so on, and the title tag and description are the same, you might look at the pagination tag

Hope it helps

RE: "On-Page Report Card"- why is still showing " F grade" after introducing the keyword in page and title.
That is weird because it usually updates in no time. Try to refresh the page and see if it works.

RE: What count as irrelevant links?
I agree with Devanur.
it is very difficult to define relevancy for links as you can always link to industries less related to your core business but still relevant.
Also, when you naturally get links, you can't control where those links come from and unless they are from dodgy sites, very low quality sites, you won't spend too much time in dealing with them (especially if the number is not too high)
I do think that Google doesn't penalize you for having those links as they are still relevant for your business in some way.

RE: Problems with duplicate contents...
Hello there!
As I just suggested to another guy, go and check on your webmaster tool, under the section "html improvements".
Also if you have two domains for the same site, make sure you have a redirect otherwise it will be a duplicate.
We have two domains www.example.com and example.com, some of the pages weren't redirect and we had issue with the duplicate content

RE: Duplicate content problem
OK, now I understand, I think it is just a pagination issue. Read the post below

Hope it helps
Good luck

RE: Duplicate content problem
Hello there,
What I would suggest you to do is to log in into your webmaster tool account and check under the section html improvements all the issues you may have.
It tells you about duplicate titles, description and so on.

RE: Duplicate Content
Hello there,
For duplicate content you refer to pages that are similar or identical to each other either for content and for coding.
The crawls stats of moz will tell you exactly which pages are duplicate, but do make sure you look at every detail.
For example our domains used to be http://example.com but it has been changed to www.example.com and redirects have been used to send traffic to the new domain.
The problem I had and for some pages I still have that some pages such as delivery information, customer help as well as some products pages haven't been redirect and it is a duplicate content.
You may want to have a look also in Google Webmaster Tools to get more information but moz does an excellent job in telling you where to look.
Hope it helps.

RE: How can I fix "Too Many On Page Links"?
I had the same problem and on some pages I still do, as mentioned above try to reduce useless links such as the one in the footer which may not receive much attention. Analyse it with in-page analytics and you will see if it's worth keeping them or not!
