Hi Neil,
Yes, sorry, when reading the post back, it just not make sense Can you do a 301 to all the new product pages?
Thanks for that, I was thinking to do it that way, probably makes sense.
Need a little bit of help on this one.
I have a product page which actually has 3 products on the page in question:
I thought it would be best for each product to have a page on its own:
however my question is:
The page with the 3 products www.example.com/products where should the 301 go to?
Can you do a 301 to all the new product pages?
Hope that makes sense
Kind Regards,
Hi there,
I been using http://www.opensiteexplorer.org to check my competitor link profile for a specific keyword, apart from Root domain being one of the most important factors, what else should I be looking for, Page Authority?
Kind Regards
Yes, I have read time and time again that if two links on an article are going to the same page, the first link is the one that counts, however I am not sure there is much proof that this is the case, or is there?
Thanks for your reply Robert.
100% Agree with everything you said.
What about this one, does it matter where the anchor text is positioned in the article? Does it carry more weight being at the top of the article if the article is lets say 1000 words long? Have you had experience of this?
Kind Regards
Hi there,
I am writing a post for a well respected blog in our industry. I'm debating on either to target 1 key-phrase in this post with an external back-link, or to go target 2-3 back-links in the post. Just a few questions on this:
Kind Regards
Hi there,
Thanks for the quick feedback.
That's unfortunate, I was thinking this could really work for us, may I should give it a go and see how things go.
What industry were you targeting?
You mentioned there a lot of others offering useful info too, can you be ever so kind in telling me what these are?
Thanks again
Hi there,
I'm always trying to think of new ways of getting great links and thought HARO could be really beneficial to our SERPs, the only issue I think is that we are a UK website and mainly the reporters are based in the USA, writing for Chicago Tribune, NY magazines etc, is this an issue?, here are a few more questions:
Has anyone had success using HARO?
Anyone outside the USA had success with HARO?
Kind Regards
Hi there,
We have a .co.uk website which has been up and running for the past 5 years now and we have now decided because we have a big market in Ireland .ie we want to have a .ie website, the question is, is it ok just to replicate the .co.uk for the .ie website?
Are there duplication issues?
Kind Regards,
It is best practice to let Google know about these rich snippets? If so, how is this done?
Yes, i came across the webmaster tool for rich snippets, will be using this for sure.
Kind Regards
Hi Alan,
We are migrating to a new website which is about to go live in December this will include the rich snippets. At the moment the rich snippets have not been coded into the exciting code, so there is nothing to show i'm afraid.
Hi Everyone,
Hope you can help me out.
We have customer reviews on our product pages and are also ranking highly for those keywords for those product pages.
To improve our CTR for those keywords I think to show those reviews with organic results using rich snippets would be a good way of improving CTR.
I have asked my programmer to integrate this, which he came back and said after the rich snippets have been integrated we then have to ask Google to integrate it in their search results, is this true?
I hope this makes sense.
Kind Regards
Ryan your analogy is fantastic. I totally understand this now and it really makes sense to do it this way.
Thanks for being patient with me
Again thanks all for your feedback on this.
Kind Regards
What happens to the URL
If there are external backlinks going to the URL, are these not going to get lost?
Because as we have mentioned on these 301s, there has been 3 URLs in question.
Hope that makes sense.
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your feedback, however I am getting a little lost
So what your are saying if I understand is, the 301 should be this:
example.com/a is redirected to example.com/abc
Kind Regards
Hi Ryan,
The only thing that concerns me is what CafePress had said "Google stops crawling a link after the 5th redirect or so."
I have another issue regarding the 301 re-directs:
We have:
/abcd http://www.example.com/abcde this is actually a 301 on a product page, however we have the same product in a shop page /shop/abcd which we have decided to do away with the shop directory, is it best practice to also do a 301 from the /shop/abcd to /abcde?
Hope that makes sense.
Kind Regards
Thanks for the fantastic feedback.
An example of what has happened on the .htaccess:
/abc http://www.example.com/abcd - This is the 301 that was made in March this year.
/abcd http://www.example.com/abcde - This is the new 301
If i notice that there are no links going to /abc using Open Site Explorer should i just delete this 301?
Kind Regards
Hi Everyone,
I have a questions on 301 redirects, i hope someone can give me some help on this.
There was some 301 redirects made on some of the URLs at the beginning of the year, however we are now re-structuring the whole website, which means the URLs which had been given a 301 redirect are now getting another 301.
The question is, should i delete the first 301 redirect from the htaccess file?
Kind Regards
Hi there,
We are migrating to a new website, which we are writing lots of new content for the new website. The new website is hosted on a development site which is password protected and so on so that it cannot be indexed.
What i would like to know is, how do i check for duplicate content issues out there on the world wide web with the dev site being password protected?
Hope this makes sense.
Kind Regards,
Hi there,
Recently I have been using guest blogging as part as my link building strategy which is doing pretty well so far.
Just a few question on this:
Once I have managed to put a guest post on a blog, is there any SEO value in contributing to the same blog again?
Kind Regards
