Yes, just noticed this also. I'm sure the guys who work on Wiki & the likes of the BBC, The Guardian are not just using this method for the sake of it, very interesting indeed. Although noticed NYTimes user underlines

RE: Internal Linking
On another note, i notice that Wiki, BBC and other do not user underlines by default in there internal links, but use just a different colour of text, only when the user hovers over the text it underlines. Do you know of any case studies done on this? what have you guys used in the past? experiences etc
My personal feeling is lets say naturally there are quite a few links, underlines i think make it quite difficult to read.
Kind Regards

RE: Internal Linking
Hi Ryan,
Yes, all these are natural, all for the benefit is for the user, not try to think to much on the SEO side of things, well maybe a little

Thanks for your quick response.

Internal Linking
Hi Everyone,
Should i be careful of how many internal links I have on one page? For example if i have a page that contains 700 words, can i have 5, 10, 15 internal links linking to other pages on my website? Is there a ratio for best practice.
I know that internal linking is important for spiders to crawl your website but at the same time dont make it look spammy.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks for any help.

301 Redirect
Hi there,
We are re-branding & re-structuring our website, there will be quite a number of 301 re-directs, possibly hundreds. The question is: Should i wait until the re-branding has been completed and do al the 301's in one go?, or should I try and do 301's as i go along?
Kind Regards

RE: URL Strucutre
Hi Ryan / Ramp,
Yes, I think so also, and watching that video from Matt Cutts confirmed that, it just makes sense plus it looks nice

So /conditions/allergies/food/ it is, now i can concentrate on producing great content.
Thanks again

URL Strucutre
Hi there,
Need some advice please on URL structure. I have been doing SEO for quite sometime now, however one thing that always get me is URL structure. I have a decision to make, its either:
URL 1 /conditions/allergies/food/
URL 2 /conditions/allergies-food/
Lets say i am optimizing for the key-phase "Food Allergies" what do you think is best practice? I know that this is not a major factor in gaining high SERPs & maybe i'm thinking about it too much, however your input would be really helpful.
Kind Regards,

RE: Page Rank
Thanks for the speedy response.
Will just have to wait then for the change

Just another quick question please. After doing the 301, is it best practice that all internal links are pointing to the new URL, rather than relying on the 301?
Oh! sorry just another one. Deleting the old page, when should this be done? my only concern with deleting this is external links and bookmarks etc.
Kind Regards

Page Rank
I had just made a 301 re-direct on one of our product pages which had a PR of 4, now that Google has indexed the new page, it's now got a PR of 0, i'm struggling to understand why this could be, i know that you may see a drop of 1, which has happened in the past, but this drop just does not make sense.
Any ideas of why this could be?

RE: Duplicate Content Help
Hi Alan,
Thanks for the quick response.
Yes i have noticed that there is 1 internal link linking to:
http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/index.php D'OH!
Anyway, i will get that fixed, thanks for the suggestion.
I was wondering, lets say there was an external link linking to http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/index.php
Is it possible it re-directs to http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/ without using a 301, as i don't think its practical to do a 301 on all these URL's?
Kind Regards

Duplicate Content Help
seomoz tool gives me back duplicate content on both these URL's
http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/
http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/index.php
I want to use http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/ as this just look nice & clean.
What would be best practice to fix this issue?
Kind Regards

RE: Duplicate content
Do you think that's practical to do that?
As i will need to do a 301 on literally every page if i don't want to show the /index.php
Is this what seomoz.org website does? for example:

RE: Duplicate content
Hi Ade,

Any ideas?

RE: Duplicate content
Hi Ade,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I have now implemented this and works fantastic on the http://www.mydomain.com/
Thank you very much.
There is another issue however, i hope i can make sense here, here goes:
seomoz tool gives me back duplicate content on both these URL's
http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/
http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/index.php
I want to use http://www.mydomain.com/football-teams/ as this just look nice & clean.

Duplicate content
I have just ran a report in seomoz on my domain and has noticed that there are duplicate content issues, the issues are:
www.domainname/directory-name/
www.domainname/directory-name/index.php
All my internal links and external links point to the first domain, as i prefer this style as it looks clear & concise, however doing this has created duplicate content as within the site itself i have an index.php page inside this /directory-name/ to show the page.
Could anyone give me some advice on what i should do please?
Kind Regards
