I would say one issue with the homepage is that you have a really spammy and odd backlink profile. Not to mention all of these domains are copies of your site:
hrssi.com icourtinfo.com freyerandherzoff.com

Those are just a few I found. You have quite a few directories pointing to your site as well. That will definitely have an effect on the homepage and your ranking ability, as well as your MozRank. I would take a good look at your backlink profile, find the domains and sites that are copies of your site, and then do a technical audit.

There are a couple benefits here:

Review Schema - Schema when it comes to reviews helps with rich snippets. It's also shown that pages with Schema rank better in search results which helps your organic visibility. Don't forget product Schema as well!

Increasing Chances of Conversion - I can't tell you how often I look at reviews of products before I buy them. People want to know other people who purchased items had a great experience with not only the product, but the company as well. These are all trust signals, and it's important to users and customers. Remember to not only look at this from the product standpoint, but the company standpoint as well.

I would say the better the review the more click throughs you will have from search, and the worse the review the less. Remember, Google just displays what reviews it finds on your site and other sites like Yelp. It's up to you and your company to provide nothing less than a stellar experience. If you can do that, you'll have no issue!

Such a good response Richard.

To piggyback this a bit, if a link provides you real value and is relevant to your site, go after it - even if it's not listed in a tool. We need to stop looking at links as a SEO only item and really look at them as a value add to our business.

Don't worry about Google and other search engines when it comes to links your intuition tell you are valuable or relevant. They'll catch up and you'll be on the right side of history.

I would make sure you read into Google's Categorize parameters with the URL Parameters page and make sure that canonical tags are to the proper pages. This will helps crawlers better understand the content so you don't have duplicate content issues.

Are you only an Australian site? Or do you do business all over world?

If you are keeping your URL structure the same, then you should not have to update your redirects file, so long as all of the destination pages are staying in place. If you are removing any current URLs and those have pages being redirected to them, you will have to update that in your redirects file.

I would do a backlink audit for the old URLs, however, and see if any are worth updating to their new URLs so the new URLs can get equity.

What I would do is ask the other station sites to either:

A. Place a canonical tag to your website in the content they use
B. Place a link to your site on their site as the origin for the content - preferably nofollow if multiple sites use your content

Is it imperative that to be a part of this group that other station websites can take your content? Your content makes your site unique - I would protect that as much as you can and not allow websites to just take it. Not ideal at all for you.

Do the following:

• Login to your Webmaster Tools

• Choose the site you want to focus on

• In your left sidebar, click "Search Traffic"

• Click "Mobile Usability" in dropdown

• This page lists your mobile issues spotted by Google

• Click into each "Usability error" in the table

• You'll see a prioritized list of URLs with said issue

• You can also download all of these so you have a list based on issue

You can do this by filtering countries in your Search Analytics in Google Search Console. While it doesn't give you an exact number traffic wise, it does give clicks and impressions, and can give you a general idea of what's happening.

In Analytics you can goto Audience > Campaigns > Organic Keywords. Change Primary Dimension to Landing Page and change your Secondary Dimension to Country. You can couple this information you got from Search Console and line up to see performance.
Also, SEMRush has the capabilities of breaking down historic keyword data by country. It will give you your rankings as well as your estimated traffic for that keyword (as no one can give you EXACT data). This is also especially useful if you do international SEO and want to check on other competitors as well.

I HIGHLY recommend it - it's been a huge help to me and it's loaded with tips and resources. Canonical tags and parameter handling in search console (for Google) will be a huge help in handling duplicate URLs.

If products are truly unique, then everything about that page should be truly unique. If URLs are causing the problems with parameters, make sure you handle that with canonicals and parameter handling.

I would be extremely careful here with what you're doing - sponsored posts aren't necessarily a bad thing, but there are guidelines you should follow and know Google's stance on it.

If you decide to go through with it, I would request the link is nofollow - that seems to be the consensus on multiple resources - here's one and another. From Backlinko Ranking Factors, these can potentially decrease value (but, as this is a study, it's opinion) of the link, but they also help diversify your backlink profile, making it more natural.

Nofollow links are still beneficial though, especially if the links passes traffic where the user is looking for your products or interested in your content.

That being said, I would be excruciatingly careful with this practice. I would also check the potential linking site's metrics in Open Site Explorer, SEMRush (to line up organic traffic/keywords with algorithm changes), as well as Majestic.
I would also ask myself the following about the site that will be linking to me:

• Does this link help my website?
• Is this link relevant to my website?
• Would I trust this site (that's linking to me) if I landed on it?
• Is the website or content in which I am being linked from topically relevant to my website?
• If you check metrics - does anything about the metrics (domain authority, page authority,Majestic, SEMRush traffic/ranking data, etc) make me feel uneasy?

Remember - these are grounds you have to tread lightly in. Vet the site and also do not make this a big ongoing practice - this could potentially set off flags to Google if they catch on and you will get a manual action.

A lot of this is going to come down to your expertise, how long you have been doing it, and what you feel you are truly capable of achieving for each client. Remember, each client and campaign will require a customized approach and research on your part.

Also, remember that business owners have more access than ever to a wealth of resources online that can help them gauge your approach, and also what questions they should be asking. People are more educated than ever, so it's best you are honest about your capabilities up front and continue to do so through your campaigns.

There are a lot of great resources out there that can give you guidance and help you get started as well. You're in a unique position as well to start fresh and build on honesty; a lot of agencies don't have that. Remember, this all comes down to what your experience is, the client, their goals, what you think you can reasonably achieve for them, and how much your time is worth to you. Since none of us on this forum know those things about you, it's best left to your intuition, honestly.

Use the latter. Google and search engines are phenomenal at topic association and reading the important aspects of what you are saying in your titles and content. If something reads better to your eyes and ears, but most importantly, your audience's eyes and ears, then go with that - remember, users will type in search how they speak naturally - they won't type like a search engine. Google and other search engines will catch up. Don't write for SEO, write for the user.

I honestly don't like this tactic. I would leave the whole phrase in the H1 because it contains words that may be used in queries. You want your H1's to be more editorial anyway where you titles are more keyword / query focused in a natural language setting.

Plus, your H1 should be the first thing on your page, not after your

. I don't think this will hinder your SEO, but keep structure and best practices in mind.

The best way to assess backlinks are to ask the following questions:

• Does this link help my website?

• Is this link relevant to my website?

• Would I trust this site (that's linking to me) if I landed on it?

• Is the website or content in which I am being linked from topically relevant to my website?

• If you check metrics - does anything about the metrics (domain authority, page authority,Majestic, SEMRush traffic/ranking data, etc) make me feel uneasy?

• Are the links from directory templates? (example)

• Inspect URLs with blatant spam words

• Free

• Porn

• XXX

• Submit

• Directory

• Paid

• Links

• URL

• Sex

• etc.

• Check for multiple domains and URLs on the same IPs

• This can usually show link farms or spam

To me, the first batch seem much more natural and less spammy. I can't figure out why you would want to put an "About Us" under "hockey-equipment".

My fear here is that you could potentially overdo your keywords in your URLs and trip spam filters, so really think about what's important to the structure and categories of the site, as well as the user experience and how users are searching to get to your site.

This answer may be a bit broad, but there some fundamental issues you should read into quick to better guide your structure so you're not in trouble down the road. Hope this helps!

First, your title is pretty spammy. You don't need all of that. You could easily make a clean and useful title for your users. Remember, make a title that speaks to the content, grabs the user's attention, and can be summed up quickly with the important keywords up front.

When it comes to location, take a look at your local SEO. There are numerous items like Schema, contact information, citiations, and industry listing opportunities that help connect your website to a location and also helps when it comes to rich snippets. Take advantage of Google My Business as well.

While all of these things in your title maaaaay all be relevant to the content, it doesn't tell me anything, therefore, it's not useful to me as a user, which won't be useful to search engines. Remember, optimize for users, not search engines. Here's a great resource.

Keep the MAIN portion of the title relevance to 55-60. Branding can go over, but leave the important information within that frame.

Do not remove categories. This helps give your website a hierarchy and helps crawlers understand how your website is laid out. It is also great for breadcrumbs and helping users understand exactly where they are in the site. If your website creates dynamic URLs, look into canonical tags.

To me, having categories in the URL are very important for many reasons. Make sure you discuss with your team and think about users/crawlers. It helps a lot to give your website a structure and not make it seems super flat.
