Re-using content
This make me think of a picture of a snake eating its own tail. You buy a domain and build all this great content and then get links to that content, then you sell the domain but take all the content. You just took away the think that built all the traffic and links, i.e. made the domain valuable. If you still own all the content, sure you can put it on a new domain but you are basically starting over in building links to the content as all the previous links went to the old domain. It is kind of a lose/lose situation here for both parties, unless you do not mind building from scratch. If you are going through with this you need to do the following. Make sure that the new owner of the domain you just sold has agreed to not republish your content. Otherwise they have the upper hand and when you republish, Google will think your stuff is duplicate. I agree with Kate, if you can, go ahead and 410 the content now on the domain you sold (but I assume still control) and request removal of it all through Search Console. Yes, this will make the new domain less valuable for the new owner, but you are already going to do that by taking all the content. Good luck!

Canonicalisation/ Moz/ WP.
Hi Kate - really appreciate you putting my mind at ease! 107 sounds about right, although I wonder if it's picking up some of the 'thin' category pages for example that WP creates. I really need to learn WP!

OSE - advanced reports.
Hi! Sorry to hear that you're running into this issue. I just logged into your account and was able to run a test report for www.seomoz.org. I'm also seeing that you have 2 of your 5 advanced reports remaining for the day. Can you tell me if you're still running into problems and if so, answer the following questions for me? Were you logged into your SEOmoz account at the time you tried to run these reports? Were there specific URL's that you were having difficulty with? What OS and Browser is this on? Are you having this problem on multiple browers? And have you tried clearing your cookies/cache? I know that's a lot of questions, but they're help us figure out what's going on Thanks! Using seomoz.
Hey there. To answer your first 2 questions: Do "the PA & DA rating(s) in the results page for a domain search takes into account any penalty signals the site may be showing"? Kind of... Page Authority (and DA) are calculated using a number of factors, one of which is MozTrust. MozTrust can be used as a rough indicator of the trustworthiness of a site (as measured by the "distance" in links from trustworthy websites like universities and government websites). I wouldn't describe this as a "penalty signal" however. "whether there is a 'real' way to identify how much value links from the source will give you (if for example, there's already x10 other links away from that page or x100 links away from that domain)" I personally don't find much value in calculating this. I don't care too much if there's 20 links on a page or 500. If it's a high quality site that's relevent to my website, and there aren't links to spammy sites on the page, I still want that link. Furthermore, there is value from the link that goes beyond raw Pagerank. You're still increasing your total Linking Root Domains (a very important link building factor) and other misc metrics that Google may take into account separately from Pagerank passed by the link. "Basically - what else needs to be taken into account when using this app to identify link sources, etc." Assuming you're currently looking through your competitors' backlink profiles in OSE and trying to replicate those links, the only links I would skip are links that appear to be from spammy websites. This is a subjective measure based upon a number of visual indicators, and a handful of objective indicators (like whether that site is indexed in Google for example). Here's a decent post that goes over some of the red flags you should look for when deciding whether or not you want a link from a site: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-evaluate-guest-post-opportunities The video links that Branagan left are also good resources to learn more about OSE's link metrics.

Site URL called out but not clickable.
My guess is that Google is recognizing a branded entity in these types of searches but I'd also guess that mentions play into it.

Description tag/ duplicate content.
This is not a problem. The issue with duplicate content is that you lose control over the copy that appears in the search results. Google will only show one page from your site if it thinks they are the same content. If Google sees each of your pages as unique then you can manipulate the positioning of the pages in the results. So duplicate content is not an issue on the same page. You do however need to be wary of keyword stuffing i.e. putting in the keywords an unnatural amount of times.

Content for links - diminishing value?
Yeah I would take it anyway... don't forget that just because it has zero authority now, doesn't mean it won't get some good authority later.
