I don’t find your idea as very smart but 1^st part of your move is right! You have to find niche related blogs and bloggers and you have to contact them, but directly asking them to link back to you didn’t make any sense to me unless you have some great Authority and Value in your Niche.

There are several ways you can get Link to the targeted blogs:

1. Offer them a Guest Posting

Simple but You actually have to write 500+ words of detailed and well researched post just to get a single link or may be 2 pointing it on your website.

2. Run a Contest for Bloggers in your Niche

If your budget is high then offering a competition for bloggers and then through badges and other stuff you can get a link pointing to your website (most badges usually get site wide links)

3. Create Infographics and Email them

Another idea is to create infographics on your site and email them the update about it. If the piece of graphic will be informative and well designed, chances are that they will link back to you!

4. Interviews

Try and target influencers in your niche and Interview them and post it on your own blog. As they are influencers so chances are that you will get lots of natural links to your site (depending upon the fame of the influencer and blog itself!)

These are just few of the ideas! Link Building is way too big and the only boundary to link building is your own personal imagination!

I don’t think that adding quickly to a search term will make a much of a difference! I believe if you write your content wisely and build some good links, chances are that you will rank for both!

In my opinion these are long tail keywords with Medium level of competition so if you will be good with content then chances are they you will win the half battle rest of the half battle is link building!

But by hook or crook you have to choose any 1 keyword that will be without quickly for one good reason!

-          Adding or including will not completely change the audience of the public and if you target the term without ‘quickly’, chances are that you will be able to make their mind and encourage them to think about selling quickly!

The way I think over the complete idea!

This is a matter of choice to me and case can be different from audience to audience! But I guess the safe strategy in that case would be the following!

You ultimately have to create 2 pages one for each so the best idea is to collect all the info about two pages and this time the information should be more focused on engagement and conversions. I mean create a unique contain that include rich media i.e images and contain… in a nut shell your both new pages should contain better information then the one you currently have!

Then add two graphical tabs, 1 pointing to A and 2^nd one points to B.

Build links on both pages and try to make them rank in Google as well! (see which page rank 1st) and then redirect the current page to the other one!

People may object about the redirect idea but as the page is relevant for both keywords so redirection to any page will be fine! (IMO)

If I would be at your place and I would have given a choice to select one platform bwtween Wordpress and Joomal then my vote will be for Wordpress!

User and SEO Friendly:

WP is more user friendly not only for the user but SEO friendly URLs, SPAM filter for Comments, easy to create post and pages which is not that easy to use in Joomla and then they have so much issues with URLs that somehow contain duplicate URLs!

Plug-ins:

The plugin directory of WP is way bigger as compare to Joomla. With wordpress the admin have multiple choices on one thing which is rear in Joomla!

Fast and Quick Updates:

WP is up-to-date and takes you with the current environment! With Jommla this game is not that simple!

Customization:

With Joomla and WP the customization is possible but (thinking from a developer’s brain) Joomla is way more difficult as compare to WP as they contain clean and clear code!

These are just few out of many differences that you can come up with by simple Googling a bit about it!

Kevin, I have previously worked for an agency that has many clients from UK and most of them are related to eCommerce so I have quite a good idea about it!

On-line buyers in UK are a bit different from the buyers in USA; they are more local orientated so if you are not mentioning the price in GBP you should!

About VAT, it was 17% quite a while back but I checked one of the sites has worked on and it says 20% now so, yes on that too!

Thing that you should consider if you are targeting the UK market are:

• You should have a clear Return Policies
• They Love Privacy Policies and Terms and Condition page and I have actually noticed people reading that!
• Details about the product on detail page.

All in all give them less area to ask question from you and provide them enough information to make a decision!

When it comes to small business that have more to do with services in a particular area, I always recommed 2 things as most important!

1. Get Local! This dosent mean only Google but all business listing websites, not only that but optimize the listings properly and get reviews on it… Once you will have more reviews people who are finding you will more likely to convert in to sales.
2. Content! This never means writing 450 words of content every day and put it on Ezine articles… but content can be in any shape Videos, Images, Articles or anything… if you can make tips and suggestion videos in a formate like DIY tips or something that will have a great impact on conversions…

Let’s start this way… you have the data of keywords that you have extracted from the Adwords campaign. This is great if you can extract all the keywords that are most convertible in terms of conversions.

Step 2 would be to list down the keywords and notice the traffic, difficulty level and competition each keyword contains and then on the basis of total traffic, difficulty level and conversion rate list down the keywords accordingly. Ideally it should be from highest returns to lowest returns…

Now you have the data so target the keywords that are most convertible… it depends on the resources of how many keywords you should target and what resources should do what!

Well there are several things you can do:

Leave it as it is: and Google will re-crawl the site and eventually remove the pages from the search engine.

The SEO way: It will be good if you put 301 redirection to relevant pages instead of a 404 page, so that user may find a reason to stay on your website. Juice of that deleted page will also be shifted to new page and it is quite possible that your new page appear to rank better and more visible in SERPs.

Update the sitemap: Another good way is to update the .xml sitemap and update in GWT to let Google know what the status of the current website is.

And if you want to kick them out on urgent basis, then the formula is to use the URL Removal Request in GWT and your URLs will be removed within the next 24 hours.

Ok, for some search terms the site name is appearing in the title tag and for some keywords it’s not… I would suggest you to check if you have recently changed the title tags of your website… if yes then this might be the crawling issues that some pages are crawled in Google and others are not. So the pages which are not crawled and updated are showing the site name while others don’t…

One more thing, sometimes when Google think that the current title tag is not relevant to the query it changes it to brand name (at least in Google US) Although there are rare chances of this but I would also suggestion make some solid and relevant title tags against a query.

If you see the pages are not crawled, I would recommend you to upgrade the .xml sitemap and submitted it again t to Google Webmaster Tool.

If you are comparing link building through blog commenting with link request, link bating, infographics and similar stuff then yes it is indeed a low quality idea but I might disagree when you say it’s a waste of time…

On a ground reality, If you write great comments on industry relevant blogs that actually contain value then you do get links that pass quality link juice. To prove my point here is a small example:

A blog own by Kristi Hines is a do follow blog where you can add a keyword if you can produce some valuable comments… (Kristi is a great content producer who holds a great value in the industry as a front link blogger for blog and social media marketing)

To be honest Diverse Anchor Text is always recommended but this can’t take you that down that it didn’t appear anywhere against a search term… there must be some other reason for it. I would suggest you to make some changes on content and recheck the on-page elements to see if there is anything missing.

Make the changes and wait for the next crawl… Also double check the GWT if it shows any error!

WOW! This is a whole lot of a debate… I mean being honest I have tried this type of link building activities as well…

I think link building through blog commenting is very much hacked by spammers and low quality discussions but if you find some great blogs (there are great do follow websites search and you will find!) where you can add some great posts and discussions then it’s not bad at all.

I mean just consider SEOmoz daily blog and see the amount of people discuss and share their perspective… it’s not bad at all it’s healthy…

About using your keyword/company name in the blog, it’s quite controversial… I mean some bloggers are ok with it (these is a comment luv plug-in that allow you to add your company name with your name) but some bloggers are not happy with it…

So it’s about a choice of a bloggers to accept your point of view as a comment… but I am sure if you comment is worth including you will be included even with the company name on a do follow blog…

Ok, I genuinely doubt that only a week ago you keyword started to rank extremely well… and then dropped from the listings but it showers for secondary terms… did you make links from paid blog networks or spammy sites? If yes then you must build some more quality links targeting your main keyword.

Or you should also try making some changes within the content and on-page factors and see if it works for you… there can be lot of possibilities as this requires complete Audit of the website.

Search engine take PDF as a page and can easily crawl the content in it that means if two identically same PDF will be found on different URLs with 100% same content available in it, logically this should be considered as duplicated content because; it like 2 different URLs providing the same information to search engine, so it should be duplicated.

The hard way: Create your own PDFs (way to costly)

The Easy way: Add link to the original resource like the same you do with articles and images, you pass a link to the original resource to help search engine know what the original piece is.

Another way: Block all the PDFs from search engine so that search engine should not crawl and index them in SERPs. The PDFs will be available for your users but not for search engine.

I just take a quick overview of your product pages and I guess if you block the PDF from search engine it won’t affect much! #ifiwouldbeatyourplace

My company has the Domain Authority and Page Authority of 80 but we are still not ranking on all the keywords that we should be ranking for… I know the case is not similar but what I want you to understand is the fact that DA or PA is a good way to understand the Authority of your page or domain but this is not everything there are other factors that counts that includes powerful content, social media value and obviously it also depends upon the strategy that websites are following above you and even more...

Redirecting the existing domain to a new domain can be a crazy idea and you might lose the trust of your audience or I would say it is too much depends upon the nature audience.

In the previous company my EX boss did a smart job by building a new unique website ‘website B’ contains similar services as ‘website A’. On ‘website B’ with the logo it says ‘Powered by website A’ and start push the website B with A, audience who had a trust on website A started to believe on B as well and slowly and gradually they move to make website B as their major website… (I would say long but effective process).

I would suggest not to move just like that but try to be slow and effective that should be love by your audience.

Ok, from the external website what I thought is a one domain contain all the content but if you have multiple domains on different servers or at least different C class IPs then you will be able to get multiple links.

From your words I guess it will be better host it on external website but make sure that websites should be on different servers or contain different C class IPs

If you have 1000 unique and worth reading articles instead of just words filling the paper then the advice is to add them slowly on your website (may be by adding a blog section on your website). If you content really contains value and if your content can really help users then you can get tons of link from different root domains to get SERP benefits (obviously you have to push it to the targeted audience).

Adding it on a separate domain will help your main website get a link from 1 external domain and if you content really is helpful, adding a content n the home page will help you get more links from different root domains.

Well, if I would be at your place I would have select “AK-47” as the best option and this would be the justification for me.

Google Considers ‘-’ dash as a space so in Google eye ‘AK-47’ and ‘AK 47’ will be considered as same. Now I have two options ‘AK-47’ and ‘AK47’.

Ultimate target is to get better visibility in Google (mostly it is) and to rank well it’s a combination of On-page and Off-Page optimization. I believe with a page ‘AK-47’ and some variation of AK-47 and AK47 in link building activity will more likely help me rank well for both the terms.

Even if you see the results in Google for these two terms you will not find much difference (at least on the 1^st page)
