Aha! There is no correlation of adding a GA of a burnt site and rankings… there is no way I can believe that your GA account that has been previously used for a website that was burnt by the search engines can kill the rankings in SERPs…

This must be something different!

• Unless you are not using too many H1 on each pages its great!
• Changing title can hurt the rankings if they are not keyword focused!
• Adword campaign can never kill the site rankings if you are not changing anything in the website for this purpose… usually for adwards if you add/include more pages, its good practice to exclude those pages from indexing!
• Adding a Hello Bar not really!

Check your page time speed and may be due to (improperly) adding of codes page time load might went up and effect the ranking negatively.

H1s and Titles can hurt if they are not keyword focused but other then this adding GA or Hello bar can’t hurt Google Rankings in anyway…

I never used this software either, but in a one look to its website I am not really impressed… the website is more like a sales copy and seriously pushing its product to the market.

By reading the product explanation that is available on their website, ‘Comment Hut Plus allows you to find WordPress blogs that Google says are related to your keyword.’ This mean the software will find you relevant wordpress blogs that you can also find by using advanced Google queries…

I don’t really see anything exciting in this but as it contains only $10 so you can buy and give it a try!

I have to agree with Kane! Proposals that offer specific number of links they will build of certain quality in a certain period of time sounds lousy to me! But all you have to do is to select 1 then Proposal 1 is better in that case…

IMO! Ideally, there should be a least number of links they should offer over a period of time but when you go for link baiting stuff that includes infographics, quizzes, whitepaper and more… building 30 to 40+ quality links from different quality areas  are fairly possible over the period of 45 days…

Ok, the major question is that when you are building back links:

1. Why Majestic SEO is not showing it?
2. Why there is no improvement is Rankings?

There is a difference between you building links and links go live as most of the links building opportunities does contain a moderation time period! (Manual links have no average time period while directories and articles and blogs do have a time period of maximum 2 weeks!)

So may be your inks are in the moderation because Majestic can only index the links that are live!

Well, as far as ranking is concern.. it depends upon various factors and not links only! I just take a quick look to your website and here are some tips that you can use to improve your visibility!

• Try to reduce the internal linking, they way you use it, aren’t natural and look quite spammy to search engines.
• Try to add quality contain on your website.
• Don’t push too much on directory links and try to grab links through blogging and through manual outreach
• Include your business to local websites
• Try adding a blog in the 2 phase on the website.

If you will try these, you will see a positive effect in rankings but again it also depends upon what keywords are you targeting… with the link profile that you currently have its almost seems impossible for you to rank for general keywords and phrases!

Well I will call myself as one of the neutral person who nether got hurt not got any positive advantage out of it! The reason why there was no real movement is because my industry is very competitive and the terms I am targeting are the most competitive terms in my niche…

Moreover, our website is standing mostly on 2 to 3 page and almost all competitors are investing right on SEO so the spam links and similar ratio is quite down at my side… and everyone is busy building quality links to the website. In these cases usually the one with most quality score wins!

As far as Penguin is concern… well may be its new in the bubble further versions of it will might bring a penguin with a Matt’s face on it

Good services usually charge a lot but if you think throwing money will give you traffic and sales and time isn’t a factor so I don’t think this will be a legit point.

1. This example might work here! suppose you are at level 2 and to move up to level 3, you need to answer 5 questions... you answered those questions and move up to level 3 but now to move up to level 4 you again have to answer only 5 questions but this time questions won’t be as easy as it was in level 2

similarly, when there is enough space for traffic to get in EPIC you can do that but as soon as you are on top of all major keywords and enough traffic is coming in, now if you need to increase the traffic, the work load will be double or even more because you have to be extra creative, be active on other inbound areas and many more…

So, to achieve your goal one need to research and set the timeline accordingly.

Also, Search Engine change a lot in the past 2 years, Panda Update, Penguin and more… within the last one year search engine changes a lot in their approach towards websites. It won’t be wrong to say that SEO 2 years back was quite an easy job as compare it from today!

Interesting business and as tablet is new to the market as compare to smart phones, I am sure the competition will be easy! The budget sounds decent to me, so why not invest in making a mobile version of the website because its pretty much make sense!

People who already have the android phones and tablets will be the most targeted traffic for your website! So why not make an online store that should be compatible to android phones and this will surly going to increase your ROI as they will most likely to buy the accessories!

Other thing that you can do is to create a blog with the website (if you already have it EPIC!) and start sharing knowledge about the gadgets and accessories. Videos can work great in increasing your website traffic and ROI

If I got your question correct then

Members are the people who are in the list created by you and subscribers are the people who subscribe to your list so that they can get update about any activity in that list!

I have deal with this situation but at that time Google was kind of nice to low quality links or I should say Google was not as harsh as it is right now!

Well the ideal would be to build some quality links and remove low quality links side by side! Keep a balanced between the two activities and this might not hurt much but fluctuation is fairly possible!

As far as the redirection is concern, if the DA of the domain is good and some good natural links are point to it than, IMO its great!

I am taking some lines from your description! That says,

I will question that.. if it is exactly what they said then in my opinion they were putting the link on the website that they can control and this can be a site of their network! If lot of links are actually coming from the network sites then I must say that Google was nice to you!

Changing the content improves your long tail but your main keyword dropped even more! In my opinion here is what you should be doing!

Remove as many low quality links as possible!

Get in to your link profile, get your hands dirty and remove it… you don’t have a choice or else the slap can be even harder!

Get more social

Google take social as a way to find the website’s credibility, get yourself active on social media accounts like twitter, facebook and G+

Create Link Baiting Campaigns:

Start the brainstorming process, sit with your marketing team and come up with any idea that is link worthy! Start a Quiz, Contest, Award or Badge! Something that allow your industry bloggers to talk about you and link to you!

Get Press Links!

You can even connect link baiting and press links if you are creative enough! Do something that becomes a story. Journalist likes stories, approach them and get a link from PR and news websites!

Start a Blog!

Share your expertise and start a company blog, it will give you a hard time but you will be able to get some great links, content that will eventually get you SERP benefits!

Frequently changing title tag as a good practice… I don’t think so! I mean it’s good to change when you think the changed title can better tell search engine and users about the website but changing it frequently to get SEO boom… I don’t think it works!

This is a different question to me! Honestly it’s not about how long or short the post is it’s about the quality that it posses within it!

For me! Reading 1000+words that contain a case study or research is not at all boring but 700+ words of theory actually striking my mind.. woo! There is still lot more to go!

But still there are some tricks to entertain readers throughout the post, especially when its long and theory…

Add Images!

Images can help reader to go through the complete article without thinking of switching or moving to some other article. #ithinkitworks!

Humour:

It isn't possible all the time but if you can add punch lines and one line humour that fits with the post, most readers will love to read till the end!

Articles that are too long should reveal some of its awesomeness in the beginning and this will help reader to move till the end!

Well the reason why I might say No are due to the following two reasons!

1. PR of Google does not update regularly so even if the contractor is working it might not help in meeting the KPI!
2. Generally moving from 1 to 7 in a year is even not doable target in my opinion

I think the target should be set which are effective for your business as well as for contractor! This can be:

-          1^st Page ranking from the head keywords in a year

-          Certain amount of increase in traffic and conversions.

-          Brand Value in different online medium that include social!

And similar KPIs that can be set after the detail analysis of the project from different angles!

Pretty much agreed with your point! In my opinion, website owner should discuss the goals and expectations with the contractor and clear the stuff before getting started or else the investment will be a big risk!

I always recommend people to open your eye while buying links for your website because of the fact that sometimes it’s cool! But sometimes when you buy links with eyes closed you came under the spot light of search engine.

Links from famous directories are fine BBB and Business.com are the great websites to get a link but if you want to get a link from a niche related website with a desired anchor text then do check that websites reparation in search engine and try to get natural links instead of side bar or footer links.

My 3rd point about discussing the project in detail is for the same reason! because this didn't seems to be a do able target!

The other thing that is wrong in my opinion is that traffic is not a good KPI, but KPI should include the %age of goals increased (that may be leads or sales) may be Rankings, and other similar KPIs!

It doesn’t matter if you have multiple sites with the same template and infect on the same server! The thing that matters to search engine the most is that you by purpose or by mistake should be involve in to any black or gray hat tactics to get boost in SERPs like, duplicate content, link wheel and many others…

One more thing that will not only get to trusted links but also allow you to get your website back! And that is Guest blogging on most trusted blog in your niche!

-          Daily SEO Tip

And many others…

Also busy valuable white papers and get links from it! The positive change will not be sudden but change will be helpful in a longer run!

Checking out for RIP off and Scam reports are great and if you didn’t find any even greater! But here are few things that you must consider before handing over a project to them!

• Community Contribution

If they are a company who understands the SEO of the 21^st century and if they know how Google is changing from time to time they must knew about the power of sharing content to the community and get most out of it!

Ask them about what and where they have shared the content with the community? If they didn’t have any valuable content that they have shared with the community then you must consider a change!

• Real Time Community Interaction

This is another thing that can’t be faked. Go through their Twitter and Facebook account and see how they are engaging with the community and especially influencers. If their personal company profiles are dead then the doubt is valid!

• Discuss the Project!

No one can guarantee results and this is quite common but do they discuss the project? And do they think that your goals are achievable (that you have mentioned here)? If not then they are not the ideal people to deal with!

But, if they have a sound content that they have shared to the community and if they are contributing real-time with the community and influencers in the similar niche and above all if they are taking interest and discussing in detail about your project then they are the ideal people to invest your money!

Dot Net Blog Engine seems quite limited but have quite more options and areas where you can customize according to your need.. off course its not as good as WP is but in the world of dot net, i found blog engine as the most decent option!
