I got this reply from the  the webmaster regarding this Crawl issue, after I copy paste your reply. Please read what he said "All the links on the splash page and other pages on the site are standard html href tags (except search and login which is a form) so please can you clarify what you mean." So what you think we could do to fix the crawl issue?

My initial thought was along the same lines, the legit way: Adwords, Bing Ads, Facebook etc, all of which have geographic targeting options.

Hi Luis, If I understand you correctly you would like to find what keywords your competitors are targeting simply by naming them? See George's response.. here are some tips. Read their Title Tag, most optimized sites will have their keywords in the title tag Read their keywords tag, older sites may still have keywords tag, if so they are basically telling you what they are targeting, careful though this can also be used as a red herring to throw off snoopers. Read their H1-H4 tags, this is the optimal place to put keywords Use a Keyword Density tool, a keyword appearing more then the rest, is likely the one(s) being targeted Finally, do keyword research for your own site, the keywords that make sense for you to use, probably also make sense for your competitors to use. Once you have your keyword list just run them to see where your competitors are ranking. Hope this was helpful

Thanks Shane, That was very simple and to the point.  I am doing SEO on a php site where there's a header and a footer and I didin't know how to add the canoical tag to the header correctly and the On page.  Thanks again. Benny

I use Screaming frog for this http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/ crawl your site > generate a site map from the menu, call it sitemap.xml and upload it to the root of your website. Log into Webmaster Tools and submit the new sitemap. Job done, hope this helps. Keith
