Did you take a look at the inbound links to each of these pages? Was the content on the spec page original? I also assume that the product spec pages was live prior to the bundles page. Is this correct?

RE: Fresh ideas on SEO budget spending
Agree with EGOL any type of link bait (like a calculator) is great. Also consider an infographic. We have published a few and I would describe them as moderately successful.

RE: Are directories still an option for linkbuilding
Eric,
Sure. If there are barriers to get in a directory, that will help prohibit many "spammy" type links. So a barrier made be a paid listing (TN, MacRae's, GlobalSpec & etc.), a vertical directory (where only sites that are contextual relevant apapera) or any directory that are selective.
Personally, we have had much luck with ThomasNet (not so much with GlobalSpec). However, like you said, it requires a bit of work. If you have any questions about TN, let me know as we have used for many years.

RE: Best domain extension is .com or .net for SEO ?
Please read: http://www.seomoz.org/q/do-domain-extensions-such-as-com-or-net-affect-seo-value
IMHO, .com is much better for the fact that is looked on as more desirable than .net (human perception).
However, is the .com favored more by the algorithm anymore? The juries out on that one...

RE: Panda recovery timeframe question
P.S. What is also interesting, similar traffic loss from Bing/Yahoo happened at exactly the same date. Does that mean Bing is "stealing" search results from Google when can't provide their own relevant results?

This is highly unlikely. We were hit with Panda, but our Yahoo/Bing positions were relatively unchanged. Most likely a coincidence.

RE: Can anyone recommend a good template club for joomla
There is always template monster (they are not as bad as people claim).
I also use theme forest (and their sister sites code canyon and such). Nothing but great products and support from their authors.

RE: Are directories still an option for linkbuilding
We still get relevant traffic and good leads from some directories. However, we only use reputable directories in certain niches (industrial directories). General rule of thumb, if it's difficult to get in a directory, it's probably a good place to be.

RE: Things to remember when relaunching a site
Accuracy of contact information. Anytime I launch a site or marketing campaign, I always check the emails and call up the phone numbers on the site myself. You will be surprise how this falls through the cracks during the chaos of a launch.
Good luck!

RE: Web 2.0 seo
Try to always create useful and unique content. It's difficult and time-consuming, but well worth it in the end!

RE: How many back links per day is too many?
In the industrial sector, directories are still being used with much success (companies like ThomasNet, MacRAES and Globalspec still create high quality leads). However, over the last 5 years or so (like Ryan's wine example) they are becoming more of informational portals that also has a directory component to it.

RE: Could longtail keywords really produce up to 80% more organic traffic long-term?
Hi Alan. We don't use that particular website but close to 80% of our traffic is coming from long-tail keywords. Furthermore, the conversion for the long-tails is significantly higher than of the competitive keywords. I believe this to be true for most people out there.

RE: Google Shopping Blocking All Vitamins and Natural Products - Glitch or Deliberate Censorship?
Not sure this was a glitch, sounds intentional (imho):
A vitamin vender who claims to have been able to reach a Google AdWords Specialist says he was told to contact Google's legal department at legal@google.com for more information. This department could not immediately be reached for comment about the Google Shopping anomaly, but the vender believes the issue stems from the European Union (EU)'s recent ban on vitamins and herbs, and Google's attempt to thwart potential trade sanctions...

RE: Best way to utilize an infographic...... do I have the makings of one?
**Of those 12,000 contacts we had 3,700 of them get online quotes and provide their name, address, email and phone number. **
Wow 3,700 quotes out of 12,000 unique visitors (31%)! That's amazing (even if it was very niche)!!! Congrats.

RE: Is this appropriate?
I will tackle the first question, IMHO I don't think these images warrant an 18 or over disclaimer. Considering the product, some may view this as over 18 though. I would see what the competitors are doing in your industry and go from there (do those firms have a disclaimer page, what type of images do they have & etc.)

Agree with Greg. Also, links from well linked sites typically help the most (as I'm sure everyone knows).
