To help find things to write about that won't waste your time, spend a moment to think about what will save your time. What questions do you get on the sales floor? What questions do you get emails about? What questions do people call in about? That's what your customers want to know.

Actually, Moz Analytics does not require GA to work properly, though it does help.

I must admit, you got this community manager to click the title!

RE: What Exactly Does "Linking Root Domains" mean??
Hi Jennifer,
This is an older question, and it's probably best in this case to start a new thread with your question so it gets a little more visibility. Thanks!

RE: Twitter and Link Juice
The quick answer is that we could either crawl all of Twitter...or we could crawl some of Twitter, and crawl some of the rest of the web. We just don't have the resources to crawl all of Twitter right now, so not everything there gets picked up in OSE.

RE: Bad keywords sending traffic my site, but can't find the source. Advice?
The OP stated that these are keywords drawing traffic to the site, not referral traffic. Therefore, people are typing these keywords into a search engine and finding the site directly via the keywords.
It could be that the search engines are seeing a hacked version of the site that visitors don't see. Look at the landing pages for these keywords, then fetch those pages as Googlebot from Google Webmaster Tools.

RE: How does MOZ assign a keyword to a page in the On Page Grades by Keyword Ranking
The keywords are decided by what is showing in the top 50 results for that keyword. We have some more details about the On Page Grader at http://moz.com/help/pro/on-page-reports

Guest posting guidelines. Because nobody ever looks there either!

RE: Pro newbie - What is a "campaign"?
Hi Ash, and welcome to Moz! I've flagged this question for the help team to come in and answer, and you should be hearing from them soon about OSE.
Here's an introduction to get you started: http://moz.com/help/pro/introduction.
A campaign is generally the website you're working on, and the app is Moz. This just means to put in the website you're working on and we'll start letting you know about any problems we find.

RE: Why would Google+ send posts as 'messages' to people outside of your circles?
Thanks for adding this information! I had wondered why people I hardly knew were sharing something "directly" with me.

RE: What are legit ways to raise up you're ranking for a new website?
This might be a tough niche to break in to. There are tons of wallpaper sites out there already. You'll need to find a reason that people will want to come to your site. What's different from the other sites that have been on the web for years? What are reasons why people should link to your content?
Right now, I'm only seeing seven wallpaper designs. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious, or there's just not much there yet. If there are a lot more than seven images, you may want to make it more clear how to see the rest of the images.
Also think about the user's perception of this site. How do I know the images are OK to use on my computer? What can I do with the images? How can I submit my own images? Who are you? Why this site? There's a contact us form, but nothing that tells anything about you.
I'd also suggest reading the Beginner's Guide to SEO at http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo. Some of the techniques you're using are outdated, such as reciprocal links, and directories can often be low quality and not helpful.

RE: Can MOZ crawl our website twice in a week?
Yes, the manual crawl test is what you'll need to use in this situation.

RE: Has anyone herd of or used link-assistant.
I took a quick look at that video, and can tell you we've all been on the receiving end of auto-generated link requests where the sender has obviously never looked at the site. Matt Cutts and Danny Sullivan have fun on occasion when they write about these types of requests. Lots of red flags go off when looking at this site, especially the guarantee about top rankings.
No, I don't have any personal experience with this site, but in general this type of thing is something to avoid.

RE: If I do the discount on mighty deals, does that start after my free trial or in place of my current free trial? Got to figure out budgets on tools for the year.
Hi! I'm noticing that the details for this offer it says that it's available only for new clients of SEOmoz, so it's not something that will work with your existing account.

RE: Best way to utilize a BBC television appearance for Internet Marketing
I'd also contact your host and let them know that you may be getting a spike in traffic on a particular day, and to please not shut the site down. Depending on the site architecture, look at putting in some type of caching and otherwise prepare for an increased load. Make sure the image file sizes on your home page are optimized, etc.

RE: What are legit ways to raise up you're ranking for a new website?
I did a google search just on your domain name, and found a couple of things you will want to stop doing if you're looking for legit ways to get a good ranking for you site.
Your site isn't an art gallery in New York, and Yelp has filtered that review, and I would think they'd remove the entry before too long.
I noticed a popular viral video reposted under your account on YouTube with a link to your site. Those links are nofollow, and again, this isn't your target market, and the video isn't related to your site at all (and it may be a copyright violation to repost it, I'm not sure).
Most blogs have nofollow turned on for their comments, including some blogs that have comments for your site in them (Moz Q&A and Moz comments are also all nofollowed). These links from off-topic sites really don't help you, either.

RE: Everything is empty, no stats displayed for 3 days. How long it takes for data to appear?
Often the questions we get are ones that other users are able to answer before a help desk employee can get to them, and this way several people can see the answer as well.
There are sometimes downsides, such as right now when there's an individual problem that needs direct attention by the help desk. However, often the question is more like "how do I unarchive a campaign" and the question will get an answer in minutes, even at 2 in the morning Seattle time, because another user is online and able to answer.

RE: Would you truste this link building buissness ?
In looking at the site, they don't build the links, they just provide you with a list of links, not always relevant, and you are the one that needs to go out and comment on the blogs and get the links yourself.

RE: Why don't I have permission to view the update calendar?
Hi! So sorry about this. The calendar moved when we switched to Moz, and it's now at http://moz.com/products/api. The next update is August 26th.

RE: Getting more fans on Facebook
A thought for a content idea -- FAQs for someone who is new to oil heating. This comes from my own situation right now, as I sit in front of a wood-burning fireplace and I'm afraid to turn on our oil-burning furnace. We moved into this house a couple of months ago, and the neighbors told us that all of the walls were repainted because of the oil stains, and we're seeing stains by one vent near the carpet. We're using space heaters and the fireplace until we can get a gas line to the house and a gas furnace installed. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has relocated and found myself in this situation. It may not cause me to be a forever fan on your facebook page, but it might turn me into a heating oil customer if I were convinced there was a good way to get heat.
