Hi Egol,
Yes, I have heard this comment often too. The point being, how can a "smaller guy" could ever be given an even opportunity to play in the same SEO arena?
Thanks for the response SilverDoor. I agree - those are three go-to-places to try learn more. I have combed them for some time, and yet, honestly, I am hoping to gain a more insights.
Especially as to establishing Domain Authority and Page Authority. What weight is given in my example above (to the simple fact that the site that has so much less going for it) to the simple aspect of being related to a nationally recognized brand.
This is fascinating: "Page Authority is a machine learning model inside our Mozscape index that predicts ranking ability from links and, at 0.39, it is the highest correlated factor in our study."
But how is Page Authority really measured? Again, if the example above were to be interpreted literally, then certainly fresh content, original content, and social metrics can't have much value. We put a tremendous amount of time into creating new blog posts, new optimized web content, pushing our content out, media news, social engagement, etc. and wonder what credence is really given it. We are picked up by Google News, Yahoo News, and various news aggregators weekly, our number of indexed pages in Google continues upward, and yet our Moz trust score is going down.
Baffled.
When I use Site Explorer to test the following URL, http://jennathuening.results.net/site/index.php, it renders a domain authority of 47. (Clients site on real estate host)
no Facebook share
no Facebook likes
no Twitter tweets
no Google+ plus 1's
no "just discovered" in 60 days
no one has made a post in 3 weeks
much or most of the content is duplicate content across all affiliate sites
inbound links - only one link - a 301 redirect http://jennathuening.results.net/
Images - 18 (Alt tags missing: 18)
Created - 1998-10-15
Registered Org - REMAX RESULTS is associated with ~416 other domains
Whois SEO Score 68%
AND YET IT HAS A ROOT DOMAIN OF "47" and page authority of 33
More confusing, its page authority of 33 is at that top on blue background and then page 30 just listed below.
When I use Site Explorer to test the following URL, http://www.homedestination.com, it renders a domain authority of 26. (Site personally owned and continually update with highly optimized fresh, relevant, quality content with grade "A" moz ranked pages and blog posts)
92 Facebook share
68 Facebook likes
13 Twitter tweets
420 Google+ plus 1's
2 "just discovered" in 60 days
Images 25 (Alt tags missing: 0)
inbound links - on 48 Root Domains
Created - 2002-08-15
9 new indexed blog post so far in August / 19 new indexed blog post in July
Whois SEO Score 100%
AND YET IT HAS A ROOT DOMAIN OF "26" and page authority of 36
While I am sure there are many other factors as well; it still is hard to see where a "smaller guy" could ever be given an even opportunity to play in the same SEO arena. Could you help me understand better? I like to build a stronger marketing and optimization strategy as we are just beginning AdWord campaigns.

No problems accessing Moz at the moment. Thanks for asking.
Concerning another question, I am having problems with the Paid Local Search tool. I am actually having greater success with getting directory listings correct without the paid option. I must be missing something.Having covered the documentation several times, do we ever have the option for a live chat with someone at moz?
Hi Sam Weber,
Even with clearing my cookies and trying Chrome, Firefox and Safari, I was unable to gain access to Moz Pro for almost a full hour. Fortunately, my client was willing to adjust our meeting, so I could pull the reports needed.
I just switched browsers to see if that may help.
In IE, the URL comes up: http://analytics.moz.com/pro/home
The message on the page says:

This morning, just before trying to meet with a client, I cannot access Moz Pro.
Here is the page I get:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<error>NoSuchBucket<message>The specified bucket does not exist</message><bucketname>analytics.moz.com</bucketname><requestid>DC68738B494D30A1</requestid><hostid>r13H1pVq04vKGcKkAD9AUCTRXNdZAhUOULNwv4/TB74e0utcat2mV3PT7dXOtnuG</hostid></error>
What can I do to access my information?
Thanks, Abe!
The tool is far more complicated than I thought.
And it offers more insights and opportunities than I have been using. I didn't think of it in terms before as useful for link building.
Thanks, Moz, once again.
It has taken me some time to make sure all fields were correct in order to upload the CVC file to Moz Local. Because I hope to use this tool for multiple clients, how long should I tell them to anticipate before the listings show up correctly?
Is there a $49 charge per business site that I use Moz Local for?
Is there a limit to how many sites I can do?
Who and how does one get in Fresh Alerts? This is such a great tool! Thank, Moz! I would like to use this more often and to a better advantage. Can someone help me understand what criteria the tool uses to choose who it and what it picks up?
Why would someone's personal family gathering turn up in my Moz Fresh Alerts("Minneapolis home buyers"?
http://mydesultoryblog.com/2014/07/having-a-great-time-with-katelyn-and-drew-in-wayzata-mn/
Desultory thoughts on a variety of subjects …
It seems completely random when and which of my blog posts show up in Moz Fresh Alerts.
For example one that did ("Minneapolis real estate sellers"): "5 Critical Shifts in the Twin Cities Housing Market"
http://www.homedestination.com/real-estate-blog/4-critical-shifts-in-the-twin-cities-housing-market
Jeannie
Thanks for your superb help walking through this.
I am thankful for the random error as I learned more valuable information about the Moz platform.
Several test now and no sign of the error again.
The latest Moz crawl returns a normal http status for the four pages.
I can only conclude that this was a one-off misread "somewhere".
As my traffic has dropped and I cannot determine just why, is there another tool or Moz resource that may help me gain better insights?
Backlinks to the site and social shares are both up.
Which highlights how very helpful the Moz Crawl Test Tool is. I use it often. I really appreciate Moz offering this tool.
Waiting for the new results....
Hi David,
The web developer cannot find any cause nor has made changes on the pages that would generate this intermittent error.
The web host says there is no recognizable cause for the error on the server, that MOZ is a third party tool, and that we should ask them (you).
With a fresh day ahead and a cleared Moz cache, I am rerunning the Moz crawl test tool.
The link provided relates to a 404 error. All four of these pages exist and have never had a 404 error.
Wish we could find some answers as to why Moz threw this "Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath" this one time out of many successful Moz app crawls on the same page.
Hi David,
Thanks for the helpful answer about how MOZ tools cache.
However, does my question as to "what this MOZ error message is: "Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath" have no answer?
NOTE: The pages are not missing. As stated above, "Oddly, these 4 web pages are not under a "Moved Temporarily" status that I know of. I have doubled checked the pages with Screaming Frog, Image and Link Analyzer, and Xenu and cannot find a differentiating error on them."
I am trying to understand precisely why and what error MOZ is saying they have. Could you please explain what MOZ means by saying these four pages have "Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath"?
My secondary question is, since the pages do in fact exist, is MOZ seeing something that keeps the existing pages from being indexed? However, I have answered that secondary question. All four of the pages that MOZ gives a 302 http statues with the "Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath" are indexed by Google.
Example:

Hi David,
The newest crawl was released shortly after our last comments. Would it help if I cleared my cache? Or used another browser?
Does Moz have a tool to help me see which pages/posts that are not being indexed?
Thank you. I look forward to the new crawl and your follow-up with this error.
I have updated the site to Universal Google Analytics so have had no page views or moz activity to help me diagnose errors lately.
Moz has become a mainstay for me!
