Website of Products by a Brand on a Sub-Domain or a Sub-Directory?
See Rand's whiteboard on this. In most cases, you will see seo benefits in placing these in a subfolder as search engines retain metrics differently between the two.

Can we create regional pages on Facebook?
Actually you may think in building a Global page on Facebook. As you can read in the page I linked, with Global Pages: Each brand's Global Pages structure will include local Pages for specific markets (single- or multi-country regions) and a default Page for all other markets. More details on this new framework: One global brand identity. Users from all countries will see the same Page name (translated into their local language), fan count, and People Talking About This (PTAT). One URL. Brands can promote a single URL in all off-Facebook campaigns, and users will be automatically directed to the best version of the Page for them. Global insights. Admins of the main Page will see insights for all global users in one easy-to-view dashboard. The problem is that the requirement really are for strong global brands, as you can see in detail in this post. Honestly, I looked a lot into the Facebook Business pages and I was not able to see an explicit link for creating a global page. So, I consider right what some experts say that you have to contact Facebook directly via email. However, if your brand is global, but not with such a big budget so to afford a Global Brand Page, then the only solution is creating as many regional Brand pages as you need. This is very easy. Just create a page normally, but then indicate in the creation process the region your Page targets for each regional pages.

Duplicate content and canonicalization confusion
I agree with you. It's all very confusing and little details make a BIG difference. Thanks for sticking with this.

Ranking of Travel Sites in SERPs
The underlying thing is that they are the few sites that are doing it, so in the absence of a better option, Google shows these sites instead. Think of ehow.com or ask.com, they don't provide a great experience to the user, but you will notice on those types of searches, there are not any better options out there. When I say dynamic, I don't mean it as it is created on the fly. The URL has parameters that the server sees and knows to fetch the corresponding city from the server. I am not 100% positive, but from past experience I am willing to bet there is some kind of auto-fill tag like %CITY% that the server will plug in the city from the URL parameter. The rest of the copy never changes Example: http://www.travelsite.com/flights-from-boston-to-new-york-bos-to-lga Copy on page: blah blah blah Boston to New York blah blah blah. If you were to change either of the cities the copy would remain the same but the city would update. Crawlers will crawl the page after it has loaded, so as long as the "dynamic" content is loaded prior to that the crawler doesn't know any different. If my memory serves pages only need to be 5-10% different in copy to not be counted as duplicate content. So if your title, H1 and a few words in the sentence and some links are different that just about does it. Now this doesn't make it a great user experience and as StreamMarket stated below, eventually Google will take notice of this and will move them down in ranking. Of course, this also means that other sites (Airlines) need to do a better job at creating pages like this but are user focused and not search engine focused.

Can this be done?
Thanks guys! I used your responses to test few other keywords and the results are similar. It is really not the backlinks alone. Surprisingly, for one my tests, only quality content and keyword competitiveness did the trick as i had no backlink for the page except 2 internal links (Wikipedia). Regards

Moving Site from HTTP to HTTPS
By now you may already know that Google have suggested to site owners listed under Webmaster Tools that they list four versions of their site when using HTTPS. So for us who are just initiating this move, we have to list http://redwrappings.com.au http://www.redwrappings.com.au https://redwrappings.com.au and finally https://www.redwrappings.com.au. Then they suggest making https://www.redwrappings.com.au the preferred site. I have an associated question - we are looking at using the Cloudflare CDN with its associated SSL certificate. Will there be any negative SEO effect using this SSL cert as opposed to our own? Thx, Graham

How to finalize the keywords for SEO?
Hi Shailendra, It sounds like your off to a pretty good start, but there are a couple other things you should consider including. KEI and KOI might give you a rough idea of the competition, but they don't really tell you how difficult it will be to rank for those keywords. I'd run your keywords through Moz's Keyword Difficulty Tool which gives each keyword a score between 1 and 100 based on the Page Authority and Domain Authority of the top ten results. Using this tool can help you weed out keywords that your site simply isn't strong enough to compete on. Another option (if you have a little money to spend) is to run a small AdWords campaign and see which keywords have the highest conversion rate. This will help you identify keywords that don't necessarily have a ton of monthly searches but can help your website reach its ultimate goals. Hope this helps! Tim

A 5 second review for font size
I still find the new version extremely difficult to read. Size matters. The font is still much too small. And there is too much wasted space in the design. The whole trend in design seems to be to super big fonts. See these examples from Precision Nutrition and Distlilled.

Sites for English speaking countries: Duplicate Content - What to do?
From what I am hearing, nothing much will change across countries, so why geo-target at all? Are you going to be developing any content that is different per country? Assuming you should geo-target, I'd recommend subfolders (domain.com/uk, domain.com/us, etc.) as you can then use some of the equity from the main domain. Then use WMT in Bing and Google to geotarget those folders to the countries in question.

What to with an event page that is over?
Depending if it's a one-off or recurring event, you could also include a summary of what took place, and some teaser copy for next year: "Look at what you missed, watch this space for the 2014 conference" or some such. Otherwise 301 redirects are probably the way to go.

Need to know about content marketing strategy
This is a good book: Return on Engagement. It's a fast read and covers the basics. Another good book is Content Strategy for the Web (more strategic than the one above). Good luck!

MOZ tool for keyword research?
The keyword analysis tool! https://moz.com/researchtools/keyword-analysis This tool uses Bing monthly organic data. The benefit of using this data is that it is not an estimate of organic search volume, it's real and accurate search volume, and it gives you the data for the last month of searching - so you can get an idea of how relevant the keyword is right now. The disadvantage of course is that Bing has a much smaller market share than Google and thus its data set may not be indicative of real searcher behaviour. That's why I like to combine the Bing keyword volume with the data you can get from the Google Adwords Keyword tool. If you get the average volume from the two sources, you're well on your way to conducting some good keyword research. Try and also combine keyword phrase mentions in Fresh Web Explorer and social mentions on Topsy for the last 30 days. Hope this helps.

Page not indexed but still has a PageRank, how?
Hi Shailendra, How long does this page exist? Probably Google found it somewhere during the process of crawling your Web site. As the Pagerank of a page is not updated very often, mostly 3-4 times a year, it's not the best metric to rely on. So the 'delay' in this updating process could also be the cause that you page has a PageRank. Hope this helps shine a light on how PageRank works nowadays.

Clickable links in video?
Hey Shailendra, Many hosting solutions allow you to do this and you can also put links in at the end of an HTML5 video with Javascript. For the latter option - I recommend reading through this page http://bubbles.childnodes.com/ which gives you some usable code. If you're looking to host your videos with a third party provider - then I recommend either Wistia or Vimeo Pro which both allow you to very simply add clickable links as a "call to action" at the end of a video. + Add Image or Video URLs Hope that's useful. Phil
