Consider your website burnt. Let me share a story here. I get approached all the time with stupid things like that. If I used linklicious.me, my clients and their employees would not make their mortgage payments anymore because of this.

DON'T DO IT! Why would a company even mention "When you buy backlinks"? The company just sounds a little shady to me.

I know they aren't selling backlinks, but they need to change their verbage.

I agree OR they should be made using the Google URL builder. GA will start recording your campaigns.

I would wait until the next crawl. Check your GWT to see when the last crawl was. Also, they may be taking their time to see if your site will disappear again. Make SURE it's up and running and no 404s.

I think you'll be okay if you have a good link profile.

If you're going to participate in a community, do it to be part of the community, not for links. I don't really post my website here on SEOMOZ, but people do contact me to give me work.  Besides, most forums that I have seen have nofollow links because they don't want to get spammed.

One other thing, look at GWT for those links. You can use OSE, but it's not as good as GWT.

You need to diversify you linking strategy. If you look at a macro viewpoint, your homepage is the only one receiving links while the rest of your site is weak. On my sites, I have very diverse linking strategies. I am never affected by Google Updates.

That's exactly how I do mine. The full URL is what you are missing. You need the http:// in it.

If the current domain is a WP site and the new .edu is going to be a WP site too, then this is easy. Export the sql file (mysql) through myphp admin so you have a back up. Copy all the files via FTP.

Upload the WP files you copied and hook them up to the same database.

You can have many websites pulling the same information from the same database. 301 the old URLs.

If you are trying to do something like that where the audience is only for local business, then you can do it just like city search and craigslist.org.

"IF" you target market is similar, then you have a choice between subdomain and folders. Do what is best for your audience.

When Google talks about GeoTargeting they mean countries, not cities. You cannot get target cities in GWT, only countries.

I have NEVER seen a company that had a website with subdomains for every city.

301 redirects within .htaccess. I don't have a step by step because you can google it and get the code.

This is an .htaccess issue. You want to point the non-www to the www. This is not a canonical issue.

There is not enough information to answer this question. if this is geo targeted to cities, then why not just do example.com/city-1, example.com/city-2, etc.

I say you keep your current clients. Hire somebody on a part time basis and have the checks sent to your parents house or your best friend. Have them deposit the checks and pay them a fee. OR hire a book keeper to do it for you.
