I agree that Thomasnet is a waste of money... I haven't seen any increases in organic positions with clients that paid to have the Thomasnet listing

RE: 400$ to sponsoring an Event page, does it worth the money?
I completely agree that the evaluation of the link should look at increasing your visibility in the niche, and gaining more visits that may turn into conversions.

RE: Responsive design to serve different page for IE8 - SEO Implications?
I would go with the separate CSS for IE8 visitors. I agree that many WILL NOT download or even update their browser.

RE: Blog posts to G+ and FB?
I would send links from your social media accounts to your blog. There is no need to post the entire article on your Facebook. A quick teaser description followed by the link to your blog is all you need!

RE: Why would my domain authority drop 2 points ?and how can i bring my domain authority back up?'.
Spot on Doug!! The Domain Authority will fluctuate a bit each time the site is index. To increase domain authority, you need good quality links pointing to your site. Rand had a great post about building "assets".

RE: Critical Page Problems.
I agree that the critical indicates the importance of the factor and that the green check mark indicates the line item's completion.

RE: How often should I update my sitemap?
Matthew,
You SHOULD have a new sitemap every time you generate new content. Most CMS will make a new sitemap. I've been working with the FISSION Content Management System creates an XML sitemap dynamically whenever posts or pages are created. As long as the file name doesn't change, you should not have to submit to GWT and BWT regularly. -
RE: Semantic Keywords Research
Review the suggested searches as you type your query
The moz.com/improve-rankings-with-semantic-research blog post is also VERY helpful in Semantic SEO. -
RE: Should ebook content be a download or hosted on site for SEO?
Using option B allows you to gather info on them before the receive access to ebook. However, if you were to block access to the page, option c would work to still gather user info. You can also track the pdf's off the landing page but this allows the user to have a local copy and 'share' your content without registering their information.
I would personally recommend option C as long as it's a hidden or protected page.

RE: Backlink Audit
Only if notified of unnatural links would I file a reconsideration request. Focus on building more links and creating new content.

RE: Domain Moztrust
It is possible that the links were created a while back and just recently discovered by Google.

RE: Re-naming pages without affecting SEO
Totally agree that the plan is a good move! Keep the URLs short and sweet. 301's will pass along any linkjuice and forward visitors to the new URLs.

RE: Is anyone familiar with the SEOClarity tool?
Hey Mike,
I sat in on the sales presentation webinar and their sales rep went through the system very quickly. Over all, I was not impressed as I have all the same functionality in my current tool box at a fraction of the cost! They want over $2,500 for setting up the tools for 20 "client accounts". Their biggest feature was competitor analysis (rank tracking & backlinks) and the ability to white label reports. There are so many tools out there that do the EXACT same thing!

RE: Is anyone familiar with the SEOClarity tool?
I'm sitting through their sales pitch right now and have mixed feelings on this tool. It does a lot of the same things my current tool box will do with more a bit more emphasis on competitor analysis. They didn't give me a $$ yet

RE: Site as one page - SEO implications
I'd suggest to create several landing pages that are optimized for particular keywords, this way each page has a real focus.

I'm with number 1 also. The less information required, the better

RE: H2's vs Meta description
Google determines what to display as the text may be more relevant to the search query compared to your meta description tag.

RE: Looking for an e-commerce CMS that can deal properly with facets and filters
If I understand correctly, by adding multiple categories to each product, you should get the search functionality your looking for. Both systems allow the products to be tagged with multiple categories. I'm sorry that I'm not terribly familiar with the technical side of either system, but both are easy to use and all the products (and variations) seem to be indexed by search spiders.
Definitely check them out!
