Just had a quick look and noticed that if you use the following query with the site: operator, you'll get what you expect to see:

site:http://www.turbosconto.it zalando

So I don't think you need to worry that your pages aren't being included in the index. I'm not sure that you're being penalised.

What keywords are your targeting and how strong is the competition? In Google Webmaster Tools, can you see which queries you're getting impression for (but not traffic?). Can you check the strength of the competition for these keywords. Is it just a case that your domain is just too week to get much search visibility?

What was the search query you used to get this snippet?

When I searched for "site:www.onecklace.com/ name-necklaces" on Google.com I got the snippet as shown in the attachment below.

You'll notice that this e-commerce style snippet includes the number of items and a couple of entries from the page. This leaves little room to display the meta-description.

I do note that the length of the description used is the same as the one that you've shown.

Unfortunately Google will determine how best to list your page in the Search results.

What's the reason why you have 5 identical sites? Is the strategy of having 5 sites helping to achieve your on-line/business goals?

How are these sites performing?

As well as creating a duplicate content problem, you'll also be splitting any inbound links across these five sites.

You may be better off with just the one site and 301 redirect any inbound links to the other sites to your "main" site. That way you can consolidate any links onto one site. Assuming you've got some good links to some of these other sites it may increase the authority of whatever site you chose to be your "main" site and improve its visibility in search.

I'm not sure it's quite as black and white as that Bob.

It's not just about getting more search traffic, you want more traffic that converts, achieived the goals of the site. The last thing you want to do is to add more content to these pages, and find that your conversions/sales go down.

What's the engagement like on these pages? Do people read this content? What is the exit rate and bounce rate like on these pages? Segment the different types of traffic in your analytics to see how these pages may be affecting direct/referral traffic, new vs returning visitors etc.

What is the goal/purpose of the category pages. Does adding additional content help achieve the page and site goals? If the page's function is mainly navigational, to help people find what they are looking for, then you'll need to be careful that you don't compromise that. Make sure people can still find what they need to find!

You say you've got 40 different categories to play with. I'd look to conduct some tests so that you're not guessing. You can always look at increasing the amount of content on one or two of these and see how it affects things. You might want to carry out some split testing too to see what the impact is on your conversion goals.

It depends on a lot of factors, so as Travis and Moosa has said, there really is no fixed rule here.

What resources do you have available (time/money/people) to build any additional content/assets that you need to target new keywords? How easy is it to make changed to the website in order to do the on-page optimisation?

What the competitive landscape like?

How mature is the site and what's it's current performance in search? If the site already has a strong domain authority maybe you can start to target those juicy head-terms that'll bring you lots of traffic? Putting your effort into one or two keywords can make a big difference.

If your site doesn't have the authority you need to compete for these terms. Then you'll potentially need to look at a wider range of longer-tail, less competitive keywords. These won't have the same traffic volumes, but at least getting a share of the search traffic will be achievable.

What is the market/niche your site is in? I've seen sites that are so specifically targeted that there really isn't a broad and diverse range of keywords that the site can target. I've also seen businesses struggling to find search traffic that just isn't there - their customers just don't think to look for them on the internet.

In summary, the key really is to prioritise. Think about what's relevant to your business and what is achievable (be honest about this) with the resources you have available. Small incremental growth is better than trying to bit off more than you can chew.

There's no reason not to have short/medium/long term aims for the keywords you want to target.

Also remember it's not just about the volume of traffic, but the relevancy too. A small number of visitors that buy your product are better then thousands that don't.

Kelly, I'm not seeing a redirect from the http version to the https: version. So these two sites are going to be seen as copies! ALl the internal links (on both versions) are pointing to the https: version though.

Think you need to take a look at the http: -> https: redirection.

This http request/response header checker is a useful way to test.for redirects etc: http://web-sniffer.net/

How have you tried to implement the redirection?

I don't think this is a surprise. Just because you know you're the Brand's Italian site, doesn't automatically mean you're going to rank for your brand name in Italy!

As your site is new, it doesn't have any authority (it has no link profile to speak of). A link from the .com site would be a nice first step!

This is why it can be beneficial to have multi-lingual content on the main, parent site so that you can benefit from their domain authority.

Think about how you can undertake some out-reach/promote the new Italian division site in order to build some authentic back links and raise awareness of the site.

Google can/and will replace your titles if it thinks it can return a better title to searchers.

Try the following Google query and notice how a different title is being returned for the same URL just because we added the keyword "toilets":

Google certainly has a preference for "Keyword - Brand Name" style titles and from experience, the more you diverge from that, adding additional keywords to your title tag, the more likely you are to see your title replaced.

It's not necessarily a problem, how are you ranking for your target terms? Just keep an eye on your click-throughs from search.

Also, if your new website means that the URLs of your pages have changed you'll want to think about implementing some 301 redirects to your new pages. Check your inbound links and make sure that the target pages are redirected to the most relevant new page.

Have you checked Google Webmaster Tools? Any messages there/manual actions?

I had a quick look at your backlink profile in AHrefs and noticed that something seems to have happened in December It looks like you've lost a whole bucket load of links. See this:

I also checked your domain using SEMRush and noted that in December you lost rankings for a number of keywords so I'd check your assumption that it's just your main keyword that's been affected.

What does your google organic traffic look like over the last couple of months?

So, if you've not already done so I'd check your Google Webmaster tools and take a look at what might have been happening with your backlink profile.

It's hard to say but I've seen examples where removing duplicate categories has improved the strength of the ones that remain. It does depend on the architecture/internal links on your site, what if any external deep links you may have and making sure any removed categories are correctly 301'd to the category that you keep.

I've also seen examples where it's made no difference at all.

If you've got as whole bunch of categories in your navigation I've also seen improvements in engagement by putting these categories in popularity order (Google Analytics can tell you which categories are the most popular). Make the ones that people are looking for easy to find. If you've got the traffic, it can be worth testing.

How many pages are we talking about here? How big is the site and how many pages as in the main navigation?

If you assume that every page is linking to every other page via the main navigation than why not add additional, in-context on-page links with relevant anchor text. This will help search engines determine the relative importance of your pages and maybe provide some additional relevancy signals too.

If all your pages have additional links back to a particular landing page then you'll raise the authority of that page.

First, note that the estimated number of pages displayed by that is an estimate which gets refined the deeper you go into the search results. On page one, they tend to be wildly inaccurate.

If you go all the way to the end (page 13) and then repeat the process with ommitted results included you still get to page 13, and a total of 123 pages. (Somewhat better than the 2k+ results.)

This is less than the 716 pages you mention so maybe you've got he opposite problem? What do you see if you check your google analytics and webmaster tools? Which pages are getting organic traffic from google? Which pages are showing in the search results (Webmaster Tools, Impressions)

What are the pages you want to appear in search and what are the keywords you're targeting?

My first thought is - if you're allowing people to design your own jewellery - are you also allowing them to easily share their creations on social, etc? Have you got embed codes so that they can put their designs on their blog etc? If you're not then I think you're missing a trick.

All of these individual items, designed by users, will (should) all be linking back to the specific category pages (or other landning page) and increasing the authority of that page. Make sure your category/landing pages have good unique content that communicates both the value proposition and the products you've got available.

If you don't have these category pages, then it might be worth looking at your site architecture/hierarchy and think about creating them.

Your individual product pages might get long-tail traffic (and having lots of different variations, described in real-people's own words might actually work to your advantage here), your category pages should be the ones targeting head terms.

I notice you've no-indexed and no-followed the product pages in question. This means that if these pages are shared, then any inbound authority/link equity/link-juice/ is just being discarded. Are you sure you want to do that?

I don't think you need to worry too much about google's index at this point and I certainly wouldn't consider deindexing the whole site.

I use Pingdom (https://www.pingdom.com/)  to monitor my sites.You can monitor one site for free and it'll send you emails and an SMS when your site goes down and comes back up again. It'll keep track of your servers up-time and response time too.

If you site foes down, how's a plug-in going to let you know?

In order to do this with any degree of accuracy you'd need to have a deep understanding of who is searching for the particular query. Once you've got that demographic (nationality, market segment etc) nailed, you'd then need to establish the number of these type of users who use bing vs google and then multiply the volume to get something close to the Google volume.

BUT It's not something you really need to do and I certainly wouldn't suggest trying. What you're looking at when you're comparing keywords is the relative volumes between the different keywords you're researching as you look for that holy grail of high volume / low competition.

To get the Google keyword volumes you're going to have to use the Keyword Planner in Adwords I'm afraid - and even then the keyword volumes are bucketed.

I tend to have already established a list of potential target keywords/topics before I start my research using the keyword difficulty tool to determine whether they are realistic to chase and whether they should be short term or long term goals.

Interestingly if you have a play with Google Trends you'll find that Google interprets "wedding rings" as a product category and when you enter "wedding bands" it give you the option of the Wedding Rings" category. This might be a hint that Google sees things a particular way.

Interestingly, I just did a search for "wedding bands" and noticed that while the serp was dominated with pages offering wedding bands (ring), the top result for me was offering wedding musics/DJs etc.

If you're building pages to target synonyms with exactly the same products/content then I suspect this is unlikely to be helping you significantly.

You've got some data though - look at your analytics and see which category pages organic search traffic is landing on and how that traffic is performing conversion wise. look at the category your visitors and navigating to and if you've got site search, what's their preferred term?

Think also how duplicate categories may be confusing your vistors once they arrive on your site.

Also consider if there are any other factors such as the your location, and demographic of your target audience.

Think about your visitors! Displaying your NAP isn't just for local SEO. Is it likely, that many of the visits you get to the site are people trying to find out the physical location? Having both the locations displayed on their landing page might just answer their question.

If you've got separate landing pages for each location with good local content, parking instructions, directions opening times etc, then add a link to those too. Those pages are for people too!

Having thousands of no-follow site wide links is unlikely to be worth very much if anything. You'd be better off getting a small number of links from domains that are authoratitve and/or relevant to your niche. So think about getting links that have a high contextual relevance too. (The content in which they appear is about the same topic).

There's a risk that site-wide links get people into trouble with penguin / unnatural links and anchor text over-optimisation.

The exception here is where the links have the potential to bring you relevant direct traffic which have have a high conversion rate depending on the source.
