Couple of Moz's bugs
I use the latest version of Chrome. I tried to reproduce but without success. I see this issue couple times a day (maybe once a day). I'll try to reproduce it.

Multiple links from a single web-site
I had to think about it for a minute but what I would do is < meta name="canonical" content="http://www.descriptionpage.com" /> on your eCommerce pages and then put all the content onto one description pages and use rel="nofollow" in the links. Then all your content is available and if you test this on a few pages you might be surprised to find that one page with more unique content will probably outrank the two anyways.

Article submission web-sites and SEO
It seems that there are really good answers already in the Q/A: http://www.seomoz.org/q/has-anyone-use-this-source-to-submit-articles http://www.seomoz.org/q/are-there-any-good-websites-to-submit-articles-to http://www.seomoz.org/q/ezine-articles http://www.seomoz.org/q/what-are-the-best-article-sites-to-submit-to http://www.seomoz.org/q/is-it-safe-to-submit-the-same-article-to-multiple-sites http://www.seomoz.org/q/do-links-to-blog-articles-help-that-much And, the short answer is that you should avoid submitting articles in such directories. Sometimes it will even harm your site. Also, I noticed that my article on Ezine is copied to a bunch of low-quality web-sites. Of course they removed my on-page links.

Sitemap and crawl impact
Even though you don't mention about page3.html in sitemap, bot's will crawl and index this page. When ever a bot come to crawl our site first it will look for Sitemap, because it is a guide line from google to create and submit sitemap to the search engines. So it is nothing but we are providing the total website information in one file. In other terms it is called Search engine friendly. And also if bot's encountered any problem while crawling this page3.html then they won't index this page. Thank you..
