2nd option. But you can increase the reach by syndicating your guest posts, using linkedin and if you eventually get contacts or build a relationship with big publisher sites, they are also willing to republish the same article for you though there are some limits to that. Good luck!

RE: Link building for a new site... where do I start?
This is one of my posts on Linkedin about doing SEO for new sites.
Dont overthink it. Just get started with your site, then work your way towards building links.

RE: Trackbacks on wordpress
Definitely. Trackbacks wont really be a problem unless it's just flat out spam.

RE: How do I best optimize a video for a client's name?
You've done pretty well with it so far. The main thing is, do videos actually show up in the search results? If not, then sometimes, itll take a longer time to actually get it to show up even if it's for a brand name. Sometimes, it just wont show at all.

RE: URL Keyword stuffing. service-city.com/product-service-city/ vs. service-city.com/product/
Personally, I dont really mind! Ive done experiments with worse keyword "stuffing" in the URL and they have performed well.
As long as the content is legit and the backlinks are good then I wouldn't really mind that.
I've had equally good results with just something like /suits - when the page is properly optimized for that, it basically does the same thing. Good luck!

RE: How worthwhile is schema markup for a local business?
It's not really holding them back. I would start with the usual, NAP markups on each page of the site since its a local business. Plus the maps markup.
Then dedicate the time to checking what the competitors are doing vs what your client has right now (more citations? etc)
That should stop them from worrying about schema at this point so you can focus on making them improve in rankings.

RE: Long url links
Hyphens have worked for me in the past in terms of rankings so I dont doubt the "ranking potential" but i stopped using them as much as possible for my users sakes mainly.
It does affect the SEO, like it gets broken links since people misplace the hyphen or the link is without a hyphen so another site benefits.
That URL length of yours is ok already. Obviously, I would again prefer an easy-to-remember URL so the shorter and more targeted, the better for me. It's a preference thing.

RE: Facebook & Instagram outage.
All they will ever say is it's self inflicted/internal. Google+ and North Korea probably teamed up to hack them and Tinder. LOL!

RE: Do Archived campaigns contribute to total keyword usage allowed in Moz plan?
I have some archived campaigns and they dont seem to be affecting my keyword count. Hope that helps.

RE: Deciding on domain
Id still change it either way. Your own domain is still better. You wouldn't be having this problem if you fully controlled it so eventually, if you dont move, it will lead to other problems for you (probably)
301 each of the old pages (if that's possible) to the new page urls so the content is with you. Add a canonical tag on the old content (if they aren't cooperative) and link to the new url of the content.

RE: Will Schema help my website?
Adding that will help little to nothing at this point but it doesnt hurt because youll do it eventually.
When you do, make sure you do the other things like adding and verifying in google places, putting your organization in freebase/wikidata and others. Those will solidify your organizations entity online.

RE: Removal URLs
301 it and wait. Try to make sure all your links onpage are fixed as well. It will take a while (give it 3 days at least to start) but you will see a majority of them change if your site is crawled regularly enough. But dont expect everything to change at the same time. There will be some left. Those will take a bit more time then eventually get it right.

RE: Can we scan for Competitor keywords with Moz Pro?
If you are already with MozPro then just grab all their anchor texts, then plug that in a rank tracker

Aside from that, SEMrush.

RE: Listing all services on one page vs separate pages per service
I would advice to put everything on one page. (This is also great for a broad keyword)
Then have short descriptions in there the a link to a specific page for each service. (Specific targeted keywords)
-
RE: An improved search box within the search results - Results?
I dont see noticeable bumps because Im usually ranking at 1 already when the box shows up in the serps for me

I would assume that it does get more clicks. From my stats a couple %'s doesnt count for me.

RE: The domain .business Has more weight than .com
If you treat it like an EMD, then yeah. There's an advantage much like .com EMDs. I've seen gtlds rank better than .coms.
Besides that, it's fair game and will depend on your SEO.

RE: How is best to use Permalinks for Wordpress /category/postname or /postname
If it's a very tight niche with similar or related categories, Id just go with a post name. It's cleaner and easier to promote.
I go the category route if it's a different set of products/topics or ecommerce site.
Both works

RE: Does DMCA protection actually improve search rankings (assuming no one's stolen my content)
Honestly, I have never seen it work.
For me, it's just like any other badge, just for show, just to add to the credibility of the site which could indirectly affect bounce rates/sharing/etc.

RE: SEO Monthly Strategy
Definitely because you can only do so much in a day, right?

Depending on the project's urgency and goals, we use different ways to come up with a task list.
I normally have a template in my project management tool that can be used on specific sites. Then each week, we break down what can be accomplished within the timeframe. Sometimes, we do it just monthly. The important thing is to actually be within budget and finish the tasks

RE: Tool to check google index status for backlinks?
Use scrapebox. Run your list of links and check if it's indexed. )
