Obviously I don't know the conversations between the client and the SEO.

We also do SEO work and alarm bells ring when something doesn't sound quite right. Such as "their website doesn't rank anywhere in the SE" when it's in position 5 for their chosen keyword.

Since posting this message I've had a quick look into the SEO company, they seem to work on linking from this domain which looks dodgy to me.

This is exactly how we work.

We don't want to block someone else doing their job, but to us it is similar to handing over full banking access to a stranger.

We aren't using this company our client is, we aren't stopping them from doing their job but have concerns about black hate issues.

A client (we designed their website) recently employed an SEO who required FTP access or access to the CMS.

We told the client they would need to take full responsibility for any updates the SEO carried out, otherwise, the SEO could send over the changes and we would put them in at no extra cost to the client.

The client didn't want to take responsibility and denied the SEO access to the CMS, and told the SEO to send over the completed work for us to put into the site.

The SEO was not happy with this arrangement, and didn't seem to understand that we needed to trust him before access was would be given at a future date.

Other SEO's have never had a problem with this arrangement, but this SEO claimed what they do is secret and for no one else to see.

SEO want's to proceed, client doesn't want to proceed, we are happy to update the website with the client's approval.  This particular client has a reputation for backing out of things.  Also from the initial client, SEO contact the SEO was ready to update the website within 24 hours.

Are we being unreasonable?

I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to this as well.

Going on Moz's data our website is far better than our competitors.  Their site has a great design and is easy to use, but that's where it stops, but they are in position #1 and have come up very quickly.

They don't have many links, they don't appear to produce very much content either, so what other metrics should I be looking at to try and get ahead of them because I'm coming up blank!

I need to play with it, but it does look interesting after spending some time in it yesterday.  There does seem to be data missing from one campaign though.

Like I said before, my biggest problem are similar or light colours, when i first visit analytics I can't see some of the colours, although they are better on an Apple screen than they are on a PC.

A how to guide on the right side of the screen would be good.  Nice big bright button that I can't miss.  I bet there is a how to guide and I've missed it

I didn't realise everything was under analytics as I haven't had the time lately to keep up with moz.

My first problem is the colours you are using in analytics - I'm struggling to see the soft colours so I'm instantly frustrated and looking for PRO.

This morning I have had a very quick look and have been able to find the majority of the PRO reports in analytics, but there does seem to be a difference in the data between the too.  For instance, in analytics I have no key word rankings but in PRO I do.

I also don't fancy having to type a URL into On Page Optimisation every time I need to monitor a page.

It's just a case of learning a new system.  But the colour thing is a real problem for me.

I still think Moz is pretty great, but it did seem to work better before the design change.

For some reason every time I sign into Moz there is no sign of a button or menu for my pro campaigns.  I have to click on the Moz Analytics button at the top right of the screen.  As of today I now have to click a campaign within analytics before I see any sign of a pro campaign button.

Can anyone tell me the quickest and easiest way to find my pro campaigns once I've signed in?

I  also have the same problem if I wonder off to blogs, Q&A, Products and Training.

Feeling increasingly frustrated and starting to avoid using Moz.

Changed Nick name, added website and my world is a happy place once again.

As I was filling out the custom URL, I didn't even understand there was anything wrong with the Nickname, I presumed the message was trying to be helpful by highlighting the Nickname and suggesting I format the Title in the same way (name space name).  I only thought this as at the time I set the profile up the nick name was ok.

Not sure how you can change the message to get passed someone having a "stupid half hour".

I'm lucky, my business partner is a developer and he is fantastic with code.

Hence why I have such a good content manager system, especially for SEO purposes.

I'm not a fan of WordPress or Drupal so Google's Tag Manager will come in handy if and when I have to deal with a website using those systems again.

Looks like I'm going to have to tweet moz with the problem.

I've had a good look at it today and it does the same as our content manager, but it will be handy to use on any client who does not use our cms.

My profile is shown as incomplete.

The only thing I can see is missing is the custom URL, which I have not been able to update.  Do you have to have so many moz points before this can be filled out?

I have put my name in the title, my company name into the title, what I do into the title, I've tried our domain name and sub domain names, but all that happens is my name becomes high lighted on the right hand side of the screen and a box appears going on about format.

I've tried every format Moz says is legal!

What should be put into the custom URL and in what format; could you spell in out in an idiot proof format please.  (I usually find it's the user who is the problem (me) not the software).

Has anyone used Google Tag Manager and do you feel it is worth it?

It does feel good cutting the dead weight and letting irrelevant articles go.

I am also listing what can now be updated and rewritten for a future post before the redirect is put in place

I am checking the links and traffic to those pages before I decide to redirect them.

A couple of months ago I did take a page down because I felt it wasn't relevant to our website. Our traffic was cut in half, but the amount of leads our website generated stayed the same, so effectively I had a better conversion rate

Just another factor to consider - is it relevant to our users.
