I'm doing some housekeeping on my website.

Removing old blogs that are out of date (2008) or things have moved on.  The blogs I'm removing are being 301'd to relevant newer blogs.

Can this type of clean up cause any problems that affect the optimisation of a site?

If you were doing well before this happened you could try news jacking and write an article which has a bit of news about Simon Covell's divorce but then goes on to give the reader advice.

Have you checked out Google's Analytic's training, they have video about how to do this.  You should be able to access it from your analytic's account.

Not sure if this is what you are after, we tend to set up goals in Google Analytics, we can then match that goal to our lead forms, all thanks to our great web developer.

I agree with Chris, sticking with lower case is easiest, because complications do happen when linking which can then lead to duplicate pages ( one page links to upper case, second page links to lower case).

We have one site that does use upper case to make it easier for the users to read the URL's, although I find typing them isn't easy if you aren't a typist.

We have had to do this to a couple of websites, but we put canonicals in place which saw no negative affects.

We are just rolling this out to our clients with showrooms so I'll be keeping an eye on the stats and monitoring client feed back.

It will be very interesting to find out if it has any SEO value.

Thanks Andre, that's the opinion I had before I read the article.

Must be the amount of sun the UK is being exposed to, which is making me question my SEO knowledge.

I use my blog in the same way, I try to solve customers problems as well as my own, email it out to subscribers and share on social media channels.

However, the article I read made me wonder is there some weird difference between content and blogging.

Does anyone know if there are any statistics that prove Google Street View For Business is worth a company investing in it?

Any feed back would be much appreciated.

I read an article yesterday that said blogging comes under the heading of social media, which is at the top of the so called SEO pyramid.  I have taken this to mean less time should be spent in social media compared to other areas of SEO.

Yet content creation was at the bottom of the pyramid (more time allocation here).  Isn't blogging part of content creation?

I would have thought there is a limit to what can be done for service/product & landing pages.  Whereas blogs are a great way to produce more unique content for a website.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

I have tried this, on one site it worked really well, on another it seemed to be a waste of time.

I have a company that works in multiple locations but only has a physical address in one location.

Is it possible to get this type of business listed in multiple locations? What is the most ethical way of doing this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We found we actually had 6 links into each individual blog within the blog page.  We corrected this and the 'too many links' in the error report disappeared! YAY

We also worked a way around the number of links on our sitemap which also corrected this error.

Correcting both issues has had a positive impact on our website.

That's better.  Looking very crisp, clean and clear.

I've noticed this, but after the last algorithm update, the sites I kept my eye on dropped out of the search engines altogether.  And the others moved down off of page one.

Initially I didn't spot the blue text in your content as it closely matches the grey. It's not just about font but also thinking about colour and people's vision as they age, or for those who are colour blind.
