I'm trying to figure out why my site and a competitors site literally trade places in the SERPS every week?

My site has a boatload of content with an active blog with a lot of links versus a competitor that has virtually no links, limited content, 404 errors on the site.

The links I have are all natural links with the exception of directories like JoeAnt.

The only thing their site has is Domain Age where as mines is 4 months old.

Any insight?

How can an infographic be used for seo purposes? What tools should I use to create one or should I just outsource the work? How much does an infographic cost to make?

I was wondering if the free word press themes would suffice as long as the plugins were added for seo purposes?

How bad is it to use a free Wordpress theme and just get the plugins as needed for free as well?

I use dream weaver as my HTML editor, I templated out my site so I wonder if I can just put the code at the top of the template and have it update every page on my site. Now where in the head do I put the code? At the very beginning? Also I know yahoo, godaddy and others promote unlimited bandwidth and storage while others have a tiered plan. Isn't it better to have unlimited? I'm just asking since there is an up charge if you go over the bandwidth or storage on the other hosting plans. Thank you for your help.

Also is using a php code a real 301 redirect or no? Do you have a sample php code that I could use? I'm still in learning mode.

Which hosting company do you prefer? Which one is best for seo purposes? And how do I transfer without impacting my SERPS or does it have no impact?

Thank you, I am trying to figure out how to do the 301 redirect but when i asked yahoo they say that the php code is not a real 301 redirect when I asked them. And they only do the 301 redirect on the ecommerce hosting plans which I have no need for. Any insight? Thanks for your answer.

I have a duplicate content issue. On my site the home button goes to the index.html and not the www. If I change it to the www will it impact my SERPS? I don't think anyone links to the index.html.

Ok, so I don't need a 301 redirect?

Basically I need to find a way to fix my canonical problem. The www and no-www version of my site each show up. This creates duplicate content. I have no htaccess with yahoo. How else can I fix this problem? Does anyone have a sample code I could use?

Does anyone know if active rain social network for realtors pass any link juice through the attached blogs features? They have both a free and paid service.

Hello Harry, I think ezines are good to supplement your link building efforts. You can also use your links to show your customers that you have content on various sites around the web. Yes, ezines have been devalued by google but there is still some value there. First you should create great content for your site, have an active blog, build non-paid back links, optimize your social interactions, then go the route of ezines and hubpages last. Diversity of links still help.

Hello Harry, I asked a similar question the other day and one response I received was that pr news wire was the best of the bunch. I was looking at a few pr sites. Pr buzz which is membership based and only $300 per year with unlimited submissions. Pr wire which has a tiered level pay structure Pr news wire which is also tiered Online pr news which has a free submission and tiered level as well I would run a search on open site explorer of these to analyze them separately.

I've heard conflicting reports about using these paid directories for SEO purposes. I am a local Realtor with a website and blog. My site is on page one but near the bottom since the national sites dominate the top. Would these directories help me for local seo purposes? Does Google consider these paid links and therefore devalues them? How difficult is it to get into these directories since they can decline a submission and there goes my money? Are these directories worth the money? In total it would be like $1200 do get on all. I've already done what I believe to be a lot of good seo practices. Emphasis on I believe since I'm no expert. Just learning as I go. Now I'm up against the big brands in real estate and meet to compete. Any tips if these directories are worth it and anything else I should look to do?

I actually have a website with a blog. Currently I'm on page 1 for my main keywords. I was thinking of another way to generate new leads.  So the Social network was an idea for another project.

What do you think? Is it worth it or dead end?
