Site-wide Links
Hi If your users are clicking on the links then yes keep them, but make them no follow, however if they are not driving traffic to your other sites and don't add any real value I would recommend removing them. However this article is very similar to a question that was asked last year and instead of duplicating everything that was said here I thought I would just post so that you can read the comments http://moz.com/community/q/are-sitewide-links-bad-for-seo (we know Google doesn't like duplicate content)

Can a page be penalised by Google but not the entire site?
All is fine then. Category pages are very often noindexed to reduce duplication issues, so really don't worry about this. It certainly doesn't sound like there are any penalties going on there. That said, do a little social activity around your post as well and get it promoted. -Andy

Connecting a Google Places & Google+ Account?
Hi Miriam, Thanks for your response. I didn't know it was typical. Someone told me that we had a duplicate Google+ page and I was trying desperately to remove it and couldn't find a way. But if it's normal, I will just leave it. Thanks

Removing Links From Spammy Directories
Does anybody know how long it will take for rankings to improve (if they do) once the links have been removed?

Guest Blog It
Hi Keri, I've used Small SEO Tools too, and have found that it doesn't pick up on everything. Copyscape and Duplichecker are the 2 best in my opinion. I think it would be good if SEOmoz have a duplicate content checker for PRO members.

Press Releases - duplicate content
Here are two strategies for dealing with dupe content and press releases a) write an article for your site about the news, and write a second article which is the same topic but different wording (not spinning) and use that article for submitting as the press releases, link in the release to your first press release article URL on your site b) write a press release and post it on your site and get it indexed. use the same press release but not the entire press release - cut it a little short and include a "read more for the full story" link that links to the full press release content on your site I prefer option a but it takes more time to write two articles, still i think the benefit is worth it.

Guest Blogging - Home Page PR0
_If I were you, I would not concern about the PR. I would concern about the quality of the website. I would like to check the quality of the articles getting published there, number of social shares they are getting, number of comments per posts and other things. If the blog looks like a part of a blog network and is heavily dependent on guest bloggers, I will think twice before accepting the offer of guest blogging. _ Otherwise it is perfectly Okay.

WordPress - duplicate content
Brian, Frankly it is quite weird that you using great SEO plugIn and still have duplicate content issues. As far as I'm aware Yoast plug-in should add canonical URL's tag automatically if you have duplicate content on your website. Did you modified Yast plug in? - If yes - set everything to default. Changed it,s settings? - if yes - change everything to default. Do you use fresh version of it? - if no - disable, uninstall, download and reinstall it again. Best of luck! Jungles

Link Building - Drawing a blank
Here's a tactic that is pretty inexpensive and should work in most niches. Find non-profits that are related to your niche and write an article on your site that highlights the great work they are doing. Then contact the site and let them know about it. If they have a press page they might include your link. Another idea is to interview influential people or experts in your niche on your blog. Often people will link back to your site to share the interview with their readers. Another idea is to create an industry survey using survey monkey to find out some interesting information and then publish the results on your site. Then followup with the people you surveyed and tell them about the resource.

Text Images
Hi Brian, Google will not be able to read the image,if you cannot highlight the words on the image then google will not be able to index them. However, your file name and alt attribute on the image will be indexed, as long as the page the image is on is indexable. Hope this helps.

Connecting Twitter accounts?
Hi Brian, I'm pretty sure this can't be done. It would be worth deciding on which account has the greatest amount of influence and then messaging everyone on the other account to inform them that it will no longer be used. Can I merge or combine two or more Twitter accounts into one? There is currently no way to manage multiple Twitter profiles from a single account or merge multiple accounts into one. We are unable to migrate data (Tweets, following, or followers) from one account to another. If you no longer want one of your accounts, we recommend that you leave one account inactive (or deactivate it, if you want) and tell your followers to find you at your preferred account. https://support.twitter.com/groups/31-twitter-basics/topics/107-my-profile-account-settings/articles/20169956-how-to-manage-multiple-twitter-accounts Hope this helps, Mark

Is it better to have your blog open in a separate window?
Well it will raise your bounce rate and lower the time spent on your main site if the blog is on another domain. And those are SEO factors, so I would recommend spawning a new window. There is no downside to opening it in a new window.

2 backlinking questions
I think that Google prefers you to have a natural blend of sites. Any website that naturally attracts links will get links from PR 0 sites on up. I would approach your link building methods cautiously, as having too many high PR inboud links can raise red flags. My advice is to write great content and seek links from reputable websites that are relevant to your website. Whether the page is PR0 or PR9, just make sure the website is trusted. On the flip side, the advice that you were given may be related to sites who's index pages are PR0. The reason they may be giving you that information is because a PR0 site can also indicate that the website has been devalued or penalized by Google. Having spammy websites link to you can actually hurt your rankings. In reference to your second question, I don't believe that other countries linking to your site are anything to worry about as long as they are relevant. Remember, SEO is a popularity contest. Google is always doing algorithm updates and it's best not to participate in questionable link building tactics. The best way is always to produce quality content and naturally reap the rewards.

Google+ SERP
I believe you're actually referring to Google's Knowledge Graph that is tied in a bit to G+. Is your G+ account active? Are you actively posting using it? If not Google might not see it as a valid account. You also need to get it verified. This article might help: http://www.localseoguide.com/google-plus-takes-over-google-knowledge-graph-for-brands/

Google+ - Is it worth it?
Hi Brian, yes indeed it is worth it. But don't just take our word for it, take the word of many others in the industry: Use it to increase traffic: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-author-photos. I built my profile for this express purpose. Authorship is important too and you need a Google+ profile to hook things together. Danny Sullivan provides examples where Google+ is pushed over the other social networks. How to take advantage of Google+: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/tips-to-use-google-for-seo. There are too many reasons to do it and not one reason not to (IMO).

Branded Keywords
Yes, I would count those as branded keywords. They should be keywords or keyword phrases that are associated with your brand. Do they convert as well as some of your main branded keywords? That would give you a clue.
