Big Affiliate Site vs. Small In House Software For Link Value
Hi, Thanks for the message. So, really, a site that is the advertiser is not going to get link juice off of it's affiliate program even if it uses a hosted solution, instead of CJ? Thanks...

Authority On Authority Question
This refers to the difference between Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) Where Domain Authority measures the predictive ranking strength of entire domains or subdomains, Page Authority measures the strength of individual page. The same is true for metrics such as MozRank and MozTrust. It's completely normal to have a homepage PA that is higher or lower than your overall DA. If your homepage PA recently dropped while everything else remained constant, it could indicate that Linkscape didn't find some links pointing to your homepage that it found previously. Normally, this isn't anything to worry about, unless you've seen a corresponding drop in traffic. In this case, I'd check your backlinks. It's also normal for both PA and DA to fluctuate from update to update. It's a comparative metric, so these metrics are best used when comparing yourself to your competition, instead of tracking your metrics in isolation. For example, if your DA rises 5 points, this in itself means nothing unless you are comparing it to another domain.

Client Selling Links On One Site Hurt Their Other Site?
Well there are two ways you can sell a link, using white hat methods or black hat. White hat: the links have the nofollow tag applied and are clearly indicated on the site as paid links or advertisements. If your client chooses to use white hat methods to sell links on their site, then that is not a concern at all. I am guessing the above information isn't of interest, and what you really want to know is more about the black hat method. It's simple. If you client breaks the rules and gets caught, then yes there is a significant risk of all the bad things your client fears happening. Search engines have tremendous resources at their disposal. It's their job to grab information from many sources and relate them together. It is likely they could relate your client and his many sites together.

No Following Existing Non-SEO Pages A Good Idea?
I block my Terms of Use and Privacy pages with robots.txt. I use a tool on my site which ads any search terms a user entered in to a search engine to reach the page. "Users found this page by searching for..." and then the box will fill up with search terms if the page is selected from SERPs. I noticed my Terms and Privacy pages were getting hits. I don't want those pages competing with the rest of my site content in Google. If you allow those pages to be indexed, you run the risk of those pages appearing instead of a more relevant page. This can cause searchers to skip over your result, or click on the result and bounce off your site.

Does Length Matter... In Videos
On that level, brevity might be a plus... easier to watch 20 seconds than two minutes.

Do Friends Let Friends Sell Links?
Read http://www.seroundtable.com/sponsored-links-12978.html for an interesting perspective from Barry Schwartz about the paid, followed linked on Search Engine Roundtable. They've been there for years. He refuses to turn them nofollow, and says "There is no doubt that if I removed the links, my traffic would likely increase by 25% to 100%." There are over 100 comments on the post as well.

What Are The Page Linking Options?
Yes, I didn't perceive anyone was talking about text and background the same color. You are right, obviously that would be complete ButterScotch.

So I Get An Interior Page To Rank, But Lower. How does that help?
Hi Daniel, Thanks for the message. I have the interior page linked from the homepage (and a lot of other pages) via a footer. Are you thinking that the footer is not up to the task? Thanks...Mike

What Parts Of Domain Registration Change Affect Rank
Understood. I'm not talking about buying and selling websites. Just owning it and making changes to the registration... private from public and street address. Thanks!

One Keyword Rank Inexplicably Blasted Into Oblivion
Yes, time counts. The site is six years old. The page is a few months.

Relative links
If that's the case I wouldn't worry about it, if things change and you start blogging maybe use it there but like you say it's not worth worrying about. Tom

Conveying Farmer Update To Client
You think the catalog duplicate content hurt the top terms on different pages? I can't see how I would replace the manufacturer's description on a half million items/pages. Do you?
