Is it easier to rank high with a front page than a landing page?
I haven't experienced a home page outranking a product page for anything other than a branded search. Most often a home page is not optimized for a particular key term. It is optimized as an outline for the site and to display promotions or other important things about the site.

What happened to My website Meta description?
Hi there, thanks for your question! Monica is correct in that Google will pick snippets out of content when they feel it is more relevant to the search query than your meta description. In this case, you don't have any header tags, and I'm not sure where "teaser" is coming from, exactly, as you do not have any crawlable text on your home page. If you read the documentation Ryan linked too, though, it will confirm that Google can pull descriptions from many different sources, including references to it elsewhere on the web. What I would do is thoroughly read the documentation Ryan linked to, and work on optimizing both your title tag and meta description according to Google's recommendations. Think about what would be most helpful to someone searching for your brand in the search engines. Along those same lines, you may also want to consider using a different coming soon plugin, beefing up your placeholder content, and collecting email addresses for people interested in receiving an email when the new site launches — which could include a coupon, etc. The plugin you are currently using is for new websites (not established sites temporarily down for a redesign), its text is not crawlable, and the content (displayed in a single image) is not very useful for human visitors, either. If this is an established site, I'd recommend looking into the Coming Soon Pro Plugin by SeedProd, which is more SEO friendly (including crawlable text) and reading up on the difference between its coming soon and maintenance modes. Hope that helps! Christy

Different meta descriptions for same page
What difference in the meta description do you see ? Is the SERP page showing up different meta description that the one you have entered ? Or, SERP is showing different meta description when you search for "yourdomainname.com" and "search terms" ? I would suggest you to manually check with the meta description from the source code to see if it is the same meta description you are using. Don also has suggest you a very useful link. Additional help can be from https://yoast.com/google-page-title/ http://moz.com/blog/why-wont-google-use-my-meta-description Cheers

Can 410 links trigger a penalty?
Great. Also remember that the disavow tool only uses the latest list you send in, "Note: Uploading a new file will replace all previously uploaded ones." from: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487, so make sure that the list you send in last is the most complete list you have. In general, I try to get a site's referral traffic up if it's not a healthy percentage of their site's visits, so if the PR company is providing that as well via their placements then they're really doing well. Cheers!

Two businesses - using separate suite numbers
Thanks Wick for the extra details. This one is tricky because some of the services will overlap. Where an SMB may see themselves as 2 different companies, Google often looks at it as a marketing ploy and sees it as really 2 divisions of the same company. This one is a little hazy to me. I think the only safe way to even try to have 2 listings is if none of the categories cross over. So even though they both do home maintenance of sorts that cat should not cross over. Does that make sense?

Client has moved to secured https webpages but non secured http pages are still being indexed in Google. Is this an issue
Hi, thanks for your questions! Don has provided some great advice. In addition, you should verify both the http and https versions of your site in Google Webmaster Tools, and configure each account according to Google's guidelines for webmasters at https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6033085?hl=en&ref_topic=6033084. (You can also use GWT to tell Google your site has moved, denote the new site, remove old URLs, etc.) Hope that helps! Christy PS - To clarify what Don recommended on preventing duplicate content, it is best practice to 301 redirect URLs when moving from http to https (vs. using canonical tags).

Return of investment on spend on google adwords
Its not always the person that pays the most that will out rank other advertisers The formula looks like this: CPC bid × Quality Score = Ad score (The highest scores will rank in the top) so what does that mean? Lets say that advertiser A has a Quality Score of 8 and he is willing to pay a max cpc of 2$ that gives him a total of 16 points ( 2$ x 8 quality score) But advertiser B is willing to pay 3$ per bid but only has a quality score of 5 giving him a total score of 15. In this scenario Advertiser A would get the top position. The avg _Quality Score is 5.. if you do a great job with your _Quality Score you will pay less to rank, and visa versa. __ __CTR has a huge impact on _Quality Score - So make sure your ads are relevant, interesting and standing out. ___

Media Kit for SEO?
Always create links in your press release itself, that was way back one of the most valuable lessons I learned. Second is that usually you could also add some links in the boilerplate with information on the spokes person/ company or CEO.
